My standard sleeping pad is the Thermarest Trail Scout, largely because of it's insulation and ease of use. But I wanted to try one of the NeoAir's because I heard so much about the comfort. I bought the Venture and took it on a weekend ride on the Missouri Katy Trail to see how it worked. The 2" loft really is great for side sleepers; at no time during the night did my hip rest on the ground. Which is good because the Venture doesn't have much of a R-value since there isn't any foam insulation like in a self-inflated pad (fortunately the ground was warm). That comfort does come at a price though - I have the large size and it takes me two sprints of blowing to inflate it. It wasn't a big deal since I was just out one night, but on a two week trip I'd want to ... It weighs a couple of ounces less than my Trail Scout, and rolls up into a nice small package. Looks like it'll be a good piece of gear to take on weekend bikepacking trips.

I have had my Neo since 2017, have been sleeping appr. 70 nights. Love it! Easy to fill it up, comfortable. But sadly it "pop out" now, an area big as a normal pillow, looks like the glue inside that is keeping it toghether came off.More sadly is, accordingly to the swedish retailer, that the warranty dont cover this beacuse I have at times been sleeping directly on the pad. They mean that the glue go off beacuse the sweat from the body.

I bought this fabulous value neoair as my goto hotel travel mattress which is thinner with less insulation than my heavily used neoair xtherm. I spend probably 60+% of my nights on the floor due to poor hotel beds that don't support my balky back. The less expensive the hotel the greater odds of actually sleeping in the bed. Thermarest is simply the best and I've used a variety of their mattresses for three decades. Mountainsteals made it a no Brainerd purchase!

This sleep pad I have now used several times for camping and am about to start getting into section hiking. This sleep pad is very comfortable to sleep on, the included air pump is nice and light weight and the material so far has been very durable. The only issue that I have with the sleep pad is it’s a little bulky compared to cheaper alternatives on the market. We bought my wife one on Amazon to make sure she wanted a sleep pad first and it’s actually a wider sleep pad with the same R value but packs up a lot smaller. The weight on this model is good for the price. There are lighter models out there for UL hiking but they are a lot more expensive.
I am a professional river guide and outdoor education teacher and therefore needed a durable but light pad that I could use many days of the year. This pad has been the perfect choice for me over the past 3 years. I have used in in Alpine environments, Spring, Summer, and Fall in both Canada and New Zealand and have never had an issue. It is a bit slow to inflate but once it is inflated it's good to go and never needs a top-up. If you are doing super cold weather camping or are a very sensitive sleeper, I could see this being too thin, but I have loved how compact, yet comfortable this pad is.Big YES from me!
After trying a couple of different air pads, I think I’ve finally found the one. It’s fairly light, packs fairly small and, most importantly, it’s comfortable for me, as a side sleeper. A lot of the air pads I tried in the past felt quite unstable, as if I was going to fall from them. Not this one. It’s firm and flat and stable. And it’s not noisy like other pads. It also feel like it’s going to last many years. Some people might feel that the standard width is too narrow at 20 inches. But for me, it works as it allows me to fit 2 pads next to each other in my small trekking pole tent whenever I camp with my girlfriend. I'm very happy with my purchase. The price is fair and being able to grab it while on sale makes it an even better deal.
My mother-in-law gave me a therma-rest air mattress about 37 years ago. I got quite a lot of use out of it; from camping to crashing at a friends place. It was 12 years old when I took it with me to hike the Appalachian Trail it made it from Georgia to Connecticut. The one I replaced it with was equally as sturdy except the entire valve assembly came out of it. Let’s hope this one lasts as long
Love this sleeping pad so far; it's INSANELY comfortable. It's nearly as good as sleeping on a bed at home. Added bonus it doesn't make as much crinkly noise as some others. It is definitely not the lightest or most compact option but for the comfort I'm willing deal with that. The included pump is an unexpected touch-it's such a small little gadget and allows you to work on other set up activities while it blows up the pad for you.
I owned the original Therma-rest Neoair regular size pad for the past 5 years. However needed the larger size pad for a recent Helsdon Hammock purchase. Good to see Therma-rest has maintained the same quality of construction. I find this model somewhat quieter than the old Neoair, which I never did find as a problem. I like the new one way inflation/deflation valve system which is better design especially when inflating. The unit does come with an inflation bag which is used to pump up the pad. This does need some practice in order to be proficient. The one disadvantage of the new valve size, which is 2 cm, is that the old Therma-rest battery operated pump is only configured for the old 1.5 cm valve size. However, I found with some stretching of the rubber valve ... MoreI owned the original Therma-rest Neoair regular size pad for the past 5 years. The one disadvantage of the new valve size, which is 2 cm, is that the old Therma-rest battery operated pump is only configured for the old 1.5 cm valve size. However, I found with some stretching of the rubber valve stem you can somewhat fit it on the new 2 cm valve but have to hold it as it will tend to slip off. I can see the rubber valve will eventually tear due to repeated stretching. Therma-rest does off a new battery operated 2 cm pump for around $50 CDN. Overall the Therma-rest Neoair Venture (Large) has met my expectations and need. The pad runs true to the advertised size and colour.
Not my favorite pad for a few reasons. One, the R-rating is really only for the warmest of evenings which just isn't doable for anywhere I backpack or camp. Two, the baffling is pretty uncomfortable for me. It feels like you're sleeping on your friends old air mattress from college. I spend most every night on this pad sliding off of it onto the tent floor and honestly being more comfortable. Three, the pump for inflating it didn't really work. I tried it a few times, giving it 20 or so min to inflate and it still was only maybe half way inflated. The pad is lightweight which is nice. But overall there are more comfortable lightweight pads out there than this.
