I have used it to sit and even kneel on hard surfaces when needed and it packs away small enough to fit in most bag water bottle holders. Alternatively, you can fold it in half and pack in the laptop compartment or back pocket of your bag to use as a frame sheet for more padding against your back.

I finally gave in for what I saw as a luxury item on a hike. It was actually really nice to have when I arrived at the end of my day hike and the only sitting places were uneven pokey boulders. Now I get why these things exist! It was comfy and easy to fold up. Super light, in fact it blew away when I stood up due to slight breeze where I was so it seems to require supervision to stay put. Got it on sale and I couldn't pass it up.

While the seat is indeed comfortable, light, and packable... it is starting to show quite a bit of wear after only 2 weekend trips. Once with a picnic table, and once to sit on rocks while backpacking. The thing is pretty darn beat up after such little use, I'm concerned if it'll even last a year, which is sad considering the price. Also, the built-in bungee cord digs into the foam quite a bit, and the impression from it does not seem to ever go away.While I didn't expect this thing to be bomb proof, for it's price I expected more than I'm getting considering you can get a generic brand one for a quarter of the cost.

This seat rest is perfect for keeping your bum warm and dry while providing a very nice cushion to park it on. Must note, there's two sides, a yellow and a silver foil. The silver foil instantly reflects the heat back to your backside, keeping you toasty warm. Easy to shake, wipe clean. Thermarest seat is a great piece of kit. Expensive (or it would seem so) for what it is, but so much better than other cheap brands. Will last for many years. Versatile, robust , comfortable and light! Great, easy service to buy/ get delivered from Past Outdoors.
I like that I don’t have to worry about punctures with this seat, as my old inflatable one. It’s extremely light and has an elastic to help secure it closed and attach it to the outside of your bag. It’s perfect for keeping your backside warm too in cold weather as you can feel the heat radiate back up toward you. One downside is that it is a bit bulky. It’s handy for kneeling on or standing on too. Worthwhile purchase to add to daypack or overnight pack load.

I bought two of these but they ended up so popular with my family of four I had to get two more. The silver side surprisingly reflects warmth back quite effectively. Perfect for car-camping and sitting out on the picnic table on a chilly night. It’s not the thickest but keeps you warmer, dryer, and more comfortable.Packs up nicely. Not the most beautiful thing in the world but it functionally it is well worth the money.
Surprisingly compact and so light. Comfy too - I'm an air mat sleeper all the way but very tempted to try the Z lite sleeping mat now. Fast shipping to Melbourne from Tom's. Would reccommend!
Three friends and I recently purchased these seats for our backpacking trips and have not been disappointed. Ultra light weight, keeps your butt dry and does an incredible job of insulating you from the cold ground.
