I purchased the U3000 with front and rear cameras for my 2020 Mercedes C300. I was able to mount the unit to the plastic rain sensor housing and no cables are visible. I had to run a permanent live from the trunk and was able to tap the accessory wire under the glove compartment and tapped to the back of the 12v accessory port wires. The dash cam works great and has not let me down connecting to the car Wi-Fi. Picture quality is amazing and get no glare with the cpl filter. Night view mode is a blessing and able to reed license plates. Parking mode works flawlessly. Day time picture quality with the bright sunlight in December is amazing and able to read license plates. I am highly impressed with this camera and highly recommend if you are driving a Mercedes because of the almost factory look. The only thing I wish, if the rear cam had a 90 degree connection point then the visible wire would not be a issue and would be tucked away under the headliner. Also I have to point out that customer service is truly amazing and responded straight away via email almost immediately on both occasions. If you drive a Mercedes then this is the best option available. I have used a Blackvue but the camera is just not suited to the Mercedes due to its shape and connection points. I wanted a install with no visible wires and this is best option according to me. I really hope my review helps the community who is interested in the Thinkware U3000. Thank you.🙏🏽

As I had read in other reviews, this camera is tricky to set up having to use two apps to get it registered. I needed to use my cell phone and my home wifi network to successfully register it. I used the chat on the Thinkware web page and they helped me through what exactly I had to do and in which order.Once set up the cameras are amazing! The settings are pretty straightforward to follow for how you want it set up and the quality of the videos is just awesome.Easy to download any clips you wish to save from the app to your phone. So far this is by far the best dash cam I have had and would recommend it to anybody.

I just purchased a thinkware U3000 for a truck I ordered. I was debating between Blackvue and Thinkware. I immediately went to Blackboxmycar without even looking around. I know the prices are the best and the customer service is second to none. This review is on the Blackboxmycar rather than the unit which I will do when installed. There is ONLY one place to buy, professional, prices and most importantly customer service. If I could give 10 stars on the service I would.Keep up the great work!Richard

Michael at BBMC went out if his way to review capabilities and my needs in a dash cam as a first ever owner and not being a DIY (Do-it-yourself) with installs. Michael recommended a professional area installer for me in MN who also turned out to be quite experienced and customer-oriented.Except for Thinkware’s lack of setup guides and server issues, everything else went very well. Michael and Damon worked to get me the needed information to finish the software, app, and phone pairing. Their efforts were truly appreciated. The Thinkware U3000 Signature Bundle was complete and thorough. My only suggestion is for BBMC is to work with dash cam manufacturers to provide necessary and useful setup and start up guides in the box or with complete set of links/urls for ... I bought the U1000 with accessories back in Oct 14 2020 for $ 829.08 after my Blackvue stopped working after I had parked my car in the laneway facing west. It appeared it got too hot from the Vancouver sun.I thought the U1000 would be more hardy. Well when I took my 2015 Macan Turbo to have it serviced recently I unplugged the power to the front camera. When I picked my car up I couldn't plug the power cable back in.So after 2 expensive cameras from Blackboxmycar in 8 years I'm ready to try a cheaper option/brand.
Installation was a nightmare with the smart phone. If I have to hear “ connect with the wifi starting with thinkware” one more time, I am gonna smash my head thru the windshield, lol. Took 2 hrs and over 20 attempts to repeatedly reformat the sd card, uninstall and reinstall the app, just to try to get it connect with my phone. Google suggests that a firmware update may improve connectivity. But for you to upgrade the firmware, it has to connect to the phone. It’s like, to hatch a egg, use a chicken; and to get the chicken, hatch the egg. It would connect and then disconnect randomly while you are setting up your app for the first time. Or it would connect but then it says no wifi found even though it says it’s connect to the thinkware wifi. What would be a good ... MoreInstallation was a nightmare with the smart phone. Or it would connect but then it says no wifi found even though it says it’s connect to the thinkware wifi. What would be a good option is that when it’s connected to a hotspot like in your car or your home wifi, that you can use it to live view or to access the files. But nope. While you can configure the device to a hotspot like your house wifi, unless that hotspot is from your phone, you can’t access the files. Again this is too bad. If it had this feature, or to access public wifi, like Shaw pass points, then you can monitor your car if you were parked, for example, at a shopping centre and you receive a alert saying a incident happened. What’s the point of a live view if you have to be within 15 ft of the car anyways ? You can see the live action happening with your own eyes instead of live view. The default settings for overwrite should be non incident or non parking versus a default over-writing of these important files.Having said that. The video quality seems good for both the front and rear cameras. I have not yet used the pc viewer yet so I cannot comment on that functionality and user experience. What would be good too is if the parking switch is more accessible and maybe on the device itself versus having to use a pin to move the switch and you have to crouch down to the ODB port to do it. I would like to be able to easily switch off parking mode when it’s parked at home in my garage, but easily switch it back on when I park in public places. Even better yet is if there was a flip screen or something so that while you are driving you can actually see what you are recording. So much for the product. Now with blackboxmycar customer service. They provide superb service and follow up. Other than me wanting the device, it was their professionalism that made me decide to buy this product.
I bought a U3000 because I wanted the one of the best on the market with the new generation STARVIS 2 sensor.First of all, this Dashcam is smaller than I thought when I opened the package and It fit easily behind your mirror. I am really surprised about video 4K quality for sure, but I notice this Dashcam power consumption is very, very low in parking mode! With PowerCell8 dedicated battery pack 7500mAh, this Dashcam can be powered 8 days in radar parking mode! Amazing! Also there is a lot of settings you can adjust in fonction of your car, your set-up and your needs.App on phone is fast, no issues, you can see and download your video easily, also computer App works fine, It's just perfect!
Love the parking mode & OBD cable. A few years back I paid a few hundred, to have my BlackvueDR900X installed. It was installed but only comes on when my Truck is started. They couldn’t figure out on my 2021 Ram the parking mode feature. Wasted money on install. The U3000 is so simple & sits on my windshield, never gets too hot. My BlackVue is hot within minutes of being on. I love the tinted film provided too. My current setup has my U3000 on windshield & BlackVue DR900x around my rear view mirror.
I've had my U1000 for almost 3 years. Was generally happy with it except its WIFI was very weak. I had the Blackvue previously but it fried in the Vancouver sun.My problem: I could not insert the male part of the power cable back into to the female hole in the main camera. You would think it is a simple process. Damon at BlackboxMycar said I had squished some pin inside the main camera hole and Ralph at Thinkware said "The power pin can't be squished if handled correctly".Caveat: The manual does not give any precaution or special instructions on how to insert the power cable. You would think it is a simple process. Just be gentle and don't force it in which is what I did.Advice? Do it once and never again. This may be difficult if you take your car in for ... Excellent dashcam, it is the only choice if you are buying a dashcam for parking mode. I upgraded from a top-of-the-line Blackvue dashcam from 5yrs ago that wasn't showing the correct time. I was told the $3 soldered battery needed to be replaced, but once I found out U3000 can do parking mode with a battery pack in radar mode for ~20days, I didn't even bother to fix the Blackvue. U3000 is not perfect, setup was a bit quirky, cloud features are very basic and limited (can't live view if it is in low energy parking mode, etc) . So if cloud/remote view is important to you, Blackvue might be a better choice. Surprisingly I didn't have any issues with radar in the rear cam that everyone else was having.
