A Brie bit different. I picked up this Brie cheese and had it in the fridge for a few days while I contemplated how to have it. The cheese is $5 for 200g and I think it’s affordable if you want to spend a few dollars for this cheese. It comes in white and lilac packaging which looks aesthetically appealing. I located it amongst the gourmet cheeses, although it did take me a few minutes to find this one as it hides well among the other specialty cheese. This is how my cheese looked when I opened it for use. It didn’t have any cheese smell and was a little soft and firm to touch. I kept the cheese in the chiller section of our fridge and I didn’t want it keep it too long, so I investigated how to serve it. I kept the cheese in the chiller section of our fridge and I didn’t want it keep it too long, so I investigated how to serve it. I thought baking it would be a good way to try it as I have never had baked cheese before. I put it in a baking dish, cut some slits, and sprinkled some dried parsley and then into the oven for 10 minutes at 180C. After 10 minutes, I took the cheese out and ofcourse I had to check on the gooey factor. It could have used a few more minutes for more gooeyness but I didn’t want to spend anymore time, so I tasted it like this. I thought it would be good to serve the warm cheese with some crackers so I did that. Below went to hubby. I served the rind as well which soften quite well when heated. I topped my cheese and crackers with some tinned salmon. This was a very filling lunch. I tasted the cheese on crackers and realised you need a good amount of topping to taste the cheese. For me, it was a slightly strong cheese, maybe a distant cousin to Tasty. I could also taste the saltiness in the cheese, which was good and enjoyable. Hubby thought it was a bit bitter and didn’t ask for seconds So next day, I spread some cold cheese onto my buttered toast and it was nice and gave a good mild cheesey taste. I enjoyed the cheese and may buy it if I wanted it for cooking or serving to guests. It is made in Australia from atleast 99% Australian ingredients I didn’t taste any tangy or fruity flavours, but it was buttery and also a bit rich. I do think it’s a bit too rich tasting for me, but this is completely personal preference. I’m not much of a cheese person which is good because if I was, I imagine I could eat a lot of this cheese

And the winner is...... to the cheese on the right. Absolutely loved this cheese. I did try it at the same time as the Mild & Creamy Brie Style Cheese Slices to do a comparison. Only has a 1. 5 health star rating but as I am nibbling away that is not worrying me in the least. But I do think it must become an only "sometimes" food for me though. Or my waistline will be crying out I fear. $5. 50 for this yummy cheese was acceptable to me - as I did say it is not an every day cheese. It is a little more special than that. And I am still yet to meet a Thomas Dux I have not loved. This may not have the convenience of the sliced cheese but the flavour well and truly overrules convenience in this instance. This was not a sample - I purchased just for the review - but I certainly can tell you it will be a repurchase for me in the future (just maybe not every week!!) Thank you all so much for reading my ramblings and have a wonderful and relaxing night to all.

Creamy and smooth. This is our go to Brie so smooth and creamy. The rind isn’t over powering in taste like other brands and cuts nicely when still cold bit harder as it warms to room temp. It has a lovely but very subtle salty note and is great on any crack of your choice for me it’s either plain water or a bagel chip cracker delicious. price per kg is very reasonable it’s on the larger size of wheel so looks nice on a cheese board was so excited to get as a sample as something we eat often but silly me was saving collecting it for a party we were having and missed pick up date. So didn’t get it for free but still got it and I wanted to review so others know how nice it is. word of warning though I believe once you go triple cream you can never go back

Best Creamy Brie Around. (Not A Sample)I decided to get this brie as it has many great reviews and wanted to see it for myself as I was hosting a birthday party. The size 200g was a generous size for a brie as they are normally smaller. Had these with a jatz biscuit. The flavour is so creamy and just melts in your mouth and this is the reason I believe this stands out from alot of brie cheeses. Normally brie cheese you'll need it to leave it out or get it close to the use by date to get it really creamy and gooey. This cheese is a little hard to get a clean slice after a few slices due to how soft it is but I don't mind this. Its a cheese you just want to go for more and more. For the price it is value for money for the quality and size your getting it for. Try this ... MoreBest Creamy Brie Around. Nice and creamy brie. As a special treat, I bought this product over Christmas for a grazeboard. With the leftovers, I used this with some roast chicken and cranberry sauce to make tarts and also used this as a pizza topping combined with roast chicken, spinach and cranberry sauce. The verdict was that the brie cheese matched well with what I made! The flavour is delicious, nice and creamy, the adults loved it. There were instructions of how to store it properly, so with the leftovers, we used as soon as possible to prevent it going bad. The product also travelled well from the supermarket to home, it was kept fresh and the price is well worth for $5. 50 for special occasions!

My favourite Brie. This Thomas Dux Triple Cream Brie is my go to Brie and I buy it often. At $5. 50 it is a very competitive price. Since discovering from my last sample how good the Woolworths soft and juicy figs are they have become best friends with this Brie. To complete the trio I like the Martini olives from Woolworths. 200 grams is a decent size for Brie. It is deliciously creamy. I don't find the need to remove it from the fridge well before serving as it is so soft and can be eaten straight away. I have used this Brie before in one of my favourite snacks to serve with drinks. It is extremely popular and is Baked Brie with macadamia praline. I have tried other Thomas Dux cheeses and found them all great value and delicious.

Excellent. Another excellent Cheese in the Thomas Dux range. This Triple Brie has a lovely soft texture, tastes very creamy and not too strong and is absolutely delicious to eat whether it’s on a biscuit, added into a sandwich or included in a recipe. I regularly purchase this Brie along with other Thomas Dux Cheeses as I find they are a fantastic quality and reasonably priced. This 200gm Brie is made from 99% Australian Ingredients and at time of collecting it was $5. 50. I can highly recommend and certainly will continue to buy it. Thanks Woolworths for such a great product.

Great value! As someone who regularly has friends over for drinks (thus requiring snacks), and a teenage daughter who LOVES cheese (& often has cheese & biccies for either her recess or after school snack), the Thomas Dux brie & other soft cheese range offers a really affordable option and it's rare not to find some in our fridge. The brie is creamy and delicious, and while certainly not top of the range, compares well with many of the more expensive supermarket-available brands. We were very happy when this range came along. So while I wouldn't give it 5 stars as an overall brie, it certainly earns it for it's price point that's for sure!

However, it was not as good as we’d hoped. The cheese although soft didn't stick to the crackers or fruit and didn’t taste great. I’m not sure if I didn’t do something correctly or this particular cheese is not suitable for baking. It went a very yellow butter colour and tasted very buttery and not like Brie at all. I let it cool and put it in the fridge and had it next day on crackers and it was delicious. Creamy, smooth and nutty and just melted in the mouth. Yes, I would purchase this Brie again, at $5 it’s a good price point, quality Australian product and delicious.
