I've got a very complex racing wheel and pedal set for my Oculus system, but when I picked up Star Wars Squadrons for my Xbox, I wouldn't even play it since controlling with the Xbox controller was awful. And of course thanks to Microsoft's Flight Sim, HOTAS units were impossible to find forever.I was randomly checking a few places every week or so and was fortunate enough to catch one in stock here at Best Buy, so I snagged it right away. The length of the cord isn't that great, but fortunately I had a USB extension cable from my first Oculus headset, allowing me to get a decent distance from my TV.Fired up the game, and this made ALL the difference. It went from annoying to enjoyable instantly. Not sure how many people would play with the thrust and flight ... MoreI've got a very complex racing wheel and pedal set for my Oculus system, but when I picked up Star Wars Squadrons for my Xbox, I wouldn't even play it since controlling with the Xbox controller was awful. However there's enough cord to separate them and get them comfortably distanced from each other. For me, the bonus is that this is natively recognized by the game so I can SEE what buttons will do what, I didn't have to remap controls or anything.I wish there was a bit more resistance on the throttle stick, but for this price, I'm pleased that it's responsive and works.Buttons are for the most part placed well, just some muscle memory now to train as I start to use it.All in all, for this price, it's light years beyond using the controllers that come with a game system. Definitely NOT worth the scalp prices you find them online, but if you wait like I did and snag it at retail price it's worth it.

Bought this for Ace Combat 7 after being out of the aerial combat game for a while and I’m loving it.Pros: Can be used as one unit or split into a separate throttle and stick so it fits most any space/comfort preference, when used as one unit the cables coil into the base cleanlyStays in place pretty well without any extra adhesiveButton layout is mostly pretty intuitiveCons: almost all parts are plastic, if not the whole thing so it feels a little fragileRudder controls on the throttle are in a slightly weird spotCan’t be screwed into a base as far as I can tell

This product is absolute garbage. Seems great for 1st 3 months, and then it becomes worthless. I’d expect a little more for the price. Thinking maybe a fluke I got a second one being rated so well. Same thing within 3 months. This time I was able to return and replace. Same thing another 3 months later. Wow. Cannot be a coincidence. Not sure how this is rated so well as it seems like a con. What’s wrong with it? At about that 3 month mark flight control starts to produce a slight drift becoming more pronounced. No amount of tightening, loosening and calibration helps resolve the issue unless you feel like taking a new product apart to use. I don’t. I want something of better quality that I pay for. Needless to say maybe. You can live with this drift and need to have ... MoreThis product is absolute garbage. Seems great for 1st 3 months, and then it becomes worthless. That brings me to going into a sub menu that shakes so bad you can make a selection or takes so long to do do you just go back to a controller. Don’t waste your money.

Took off smoothly with this flight stick, soaring through the virtual skies with ease and precision. However, just 7 months post-warranty, I experienced some unexpected turbulence. Thought I’d reach out to the retailer for a safe landing, but it seems my flight plan wasn’t in their itinerary. While the initial journey was enjoyable, the abrupt grounding leaves a traveler like me yearning for more dependable airlines. Pilots be warned: make sure you have a backup parachute!
NOTE: I purchased the T Flight HOTAS 4, NOT the HOTAS X. It is the Playstation 4 compatible version which is almost identical in every way, they are effectively the same product when used with a PC (which is the only way I have used it). After only a week or so of use I experienced major issues. I left a review on the page for that product, only for the entire product listing to be completely removed from bestbuy.ca later in the afternoon. It is still not listed as of writing this review. The issues I experienced boiled down to a constant input 'jitter' or drift (with the joystick centred and not being touched, the aircraft will constantly roll to the right). It is still not listed as of writing this review. The issues I experienced boiled down to a constant input 'jitter' or drift (with the joystick centred and not being touched, the aircraft will constantly roll to the right). This started after about a week of use and has not stopped since. From what I understand, a lot of these joysticks suffer from these issues, and there is no real fix. Some users have theirs work flawlessly for years, some contact Thrustmaster customer support and are given a chain of replacements all suffering from identical issues. The software distributed by TM for this joystick also offers no deadzone fine tuning or calibration ability, nor can you remap buttons. It's a non customizable driver set that was last updated more than 2 years ago.Build quality is also relatively mediocre. Feels very much like a toy and not a dedicated input device meant for flight sims.Final thoughts; When it works as intended I honestly really enjoy using it. Besides feeling somewhat flimsy in terms of weight and construction, the spring tension of the stick is adjustable and has a good amount of range from quite loose to surprisingly stiff. The throttle is a little less exciting, there isnt much tactility to it, just a vague feeling of friction. However it has never had any actual issues no I can't say I have any real gripes with it. The big problem is that it often just does not work as intended, and the troubles usually get worse with use.I'd recommend finding something a little more high quality. This may seem like a good cheap HOTAS but for something this niche, 'good' and 'cheap' don't really go together.
Been using my standard XBox Series X game pad for months with FS2020 with has been pretty good for the most part. The 40th Anniversary update with helicopters has been a bit frustrating with the gamepad/controller though. So this is when I started looking into a better flight control, joystick. This really has worked for me, far far better control and flying not just the heli's, but all aircrafts.Lot of buttons, different placements so this you'll have to get used to that..but with a lot of flying that will take little to no time. USB cord is pretty long unlike other very short cords I've seen It's a great affordable starter joystick for flying Flight Simulator 2020, the throttle is awesome. The only gripe I do have is - I wish the small tab that connects the Throttle and joystick connected MUCH better. It's extremely easy to detach. So when you pick this up, make sure you grab both sections or else one piece may detach and fall to the floor.**Some may like this totally detached which is cool. I like it attached just due to space constraints with my current setup. A ting piece of velco holding these two together can solve this issue a little more
It feels nice and comfortable in your hands. Prompt response and reasonable deadzone for a product in this price range. The throttle grants you a much more immersive experience and even though is made completely in plastic and heavier base would have helped during frenetic sessions I am very happy with the purchase. I suggest you download last firmware and drivers from the official Thrustmaster websites if you are playing on PC. This way you can be sure all the programmable buttons will be recognised immediately. On the official web site you will also find configuration mapping for the most common flying simulators out there.

This Joystick worked flawlessly right out of the box. I use it for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It is so much easier and enjoyable using the joystick instead of the handheld controller that comes with Xbox. There are quite a few buttons that can be programmed to your likes, but I have just been using the native programming and it is fine for my purposes. No issues with the joystick, I love using it to fly, or to be honest, learning to fly...
I am new to flight sticks so take that with a grain o salt. However, for my first flight stick, this is a great toy to have! The weight and handling feel really good and the price is actually great for what you get! Ive mainly been playing Star Wars Squadrons on Xbox Game Pass, and if you are looking to have a genuine Star Wars dog fight experience i dont think you could possibly do better than this stick at the price point. Must buy for flying fans on a budget! You wont regret it!
