If you are sure you will keep playing whatever games you are buying this for, I would recommend something in the midrange, like the T16000m, but if you just want to test out a stick, this is the one for you.Also props to B&H for being the only store that regularly refilled stock and sold for MSRP during the pandemic.

I've got a very complex racing wheel and pedal set for my Oculus system, but when I picked up Star Wars Squadrons for my Xbox, I wouldn't even play it since controlling with the Xbox controller was awful. And of course thanks to Microsoft's Flight Sim, HOTAS units were impossible to find forever.I was randomly checking a few places every week or so and was fortunate enough to catch one in stock here at Best Buy, so I snagged it right away.The length of the cord isn't that great, but fortunately I had a USB extension cable from my first Oculus headset, allowing me to get a decent distance from my TV.Fired up the game, and this made ALL the difference. Of course, I did not and it took me about 2 hours to dig the drivers out and start over again. I had a real hard time getting the firmware to install (maybe because of not installing the drivers correctly). I found the firmware update tool would not see the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE unless I unplugged and re-plugged it in while it was searching. It took a few times repeating (plug / unplug) before the firmware installed fully.I was not expecting to have to “map” most of the buttons manually on Squadrons, but there are plenty of hints you can search out online. I could not understand why my ship would not accelerate, then I realized I had to do the mappings. Once I got the buttons mapped and printed out a map, I was blasting rebels with ease.OVERALL IMPRESSIONI call the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE a starter stick, but that is not a knock. You won’t find flashing lights, or vibration feedback or automatic resistance as on some higher end sticks. But it also not $300 either. It has a good weight but is plastic not metal. There are no clamps, so it could more on a slippery desk. None of these things detract from what it is. The TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE is a good basic, but advanced enough stick for casual use. It does not pretend to be any more than what it is.SUMMARY / CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATIONI would recommend the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE for anyone just getting started with this type of controller, or for anyone who does not want to spend an arm and a leg on something more advanced (and more complicated to operate). Purchased for PC. Feels solid, especially if you don’t death grip the controls. A little tough to get working sometimes depending on what you are playing. Works great in Elite Dangerous and Star Wars: Squadrons (although I’m not sure if anyone even plays the later, but the campaign is fun). Putting the throttle and stick on either side of my ten-key-less keyboard is about the perfect spacing, and helps them stay planted. Look for an open-box deal on one of these.
Got this controller on sale and thus far I'm very happy with it. I've never used a HOTAS before, so my opinion is lacking experience with similar HOTAS controllers. I've only used it in MS Flight Simulator on Xbox and PC for a few hours so far, but it's a huge improvement over using an Xbox controller and keyboard. Flying is much easier and much more enjoyable now. The controller feels well built, it's sturdy, and the buttons and stick provide satisfying tactile feedback. I especially like that I can switch between Xbox or PC at the flick of a switch. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try flight simulation on a budget before investing in higher grade controls.

It is the Playstation 4 compatible version which is almost identical in every way, they are effectively the same product when used with a PC (which is the only way I have used it). This really has worked for me, far far better control and flying not just the heli's, but all aircrafts.Lot of buttons, different placements so this you'll have to get used to that..but with a lot of flying that will take little to no time. It's extremely easy to detach. So when you pick this up, make sure you grab both sections or else one piece may detach and fall to the floor.**Some may like this totally detached which is cool. I like it attached just due to space constraints with my current setup. A ting piece of velco holding these two together can solve this issue a little more
Over the past 10 years, I have been using the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick with my flight simulator on the PC. However, I recently bought the Xbox Series X to play Microsoft Flight Simulator and the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro model was not compatible with the system. As a result, I purchased this Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas One Xbox model, and it works great! It does cost twice as much as the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, but it is indeed compatible and works perfectly with the Xbox Series X while playing Microsoft Flight Simulator. This is a robust design and the throttle handle/ joystick are smooth.
