Great entry-level wheel/pedal set
6 March 2017

I bought this as an 'entry-level' wheel, something to play racing games with other than my XB360 controller. I primarily play F1 2016, Project Cars, The Crew, and a small handful of others. I was looking for something that would still allow me to have more of a 'realistic' driving experience, but not break the bank. PROS: - Excellent force feedback. In games like F1 2016 and Project Cars, you can almost 'feel' the car slide out from under you in bad cornering. Bumps and dips in the track surface, run-off strips, and other surfaces can all be distinguished from each other quite easily. - 900 rotation. I'm not sure how much better having 1080 rotation would be, but going with a cheap wheel that only has 180 (like the Ferrari Experience wheel) would've taken away from ... MoreI bought this as an 'entry-level' wheel, something to play racing games with other than my XB360 controller. I'm not sure how much better having 1080 rotation would be, but going with a cheap wheel that only has 180 (like the Ferrari Experience wheel) would've taken away from the 'realism' from having to go hand-over-hand in hairpin turns. - Most buttons are easy to reach, and the paddle shifters are made of a nice sturdy metal. - Very accurate movement and tracking. - The cooling fan can be heard, but still quiet, and only noticeable if there's no ambient noise. However, it does seem to do a good job at cooling the servo. Though nothing too outrageous, I've already had a couple 3-4 hour racing sessions, and have yet to notice any sort of heat/warmth. CONS: - The included pedals (assuming you purchase the basic setup with 2 pedals, not the 3-pedal version) are made entirely of plastic. They seem to work just fine, but I fear they won't last as long as the wheel itself. They also like to slide around a lot (regardless of the surface you place them on) if not hard-mounted. - I like the rubberized grips on the wheel, but the rest is made out of plastic, and flexing can be noticed when white-knuckling your way through an adrenaline-filled race. - Different pedals and shifters can be added, but no replaceable wheel rim (like on the T300, T500, TX)

Great introductory wheel and pedal set.
3 June 2020

This is a fantastic first step into wheel and pedal controllers for the racing gamer that wants to get a little more authentic feel. It's certainly not a 1:1 recreation of driving a car but it is certainly better than using a controller.I used it on PC and the setup was easy, mostly plug and play. Aside from downloading the driver, which was also super simple and everything just worked. As for in game performance, it works great. The force feedback is a bit rough at first, but after tweaking the settings I feel like I got it dialed in pretty well and it feels great now. I was worried that it would aggrivate an old wrist injury that sometimes acts up when it's stressed, but so far I haven't had any problems even after a few long sessions. The wheel could stand to be ... MoreThis is a fantastic first step into wheel and pedal controllers for the racing gamer that wants to get a little more authentic feel. I was worried that it would aggrivate an old wrist injury that sometimes acts up when it's stressed, but so far I haven't had any problems even after a few long sessions. The wheel could stand to be a little bit bigger in diameter personally but it isn't that big of a deal. The buttons are very clicky and feel solid, they may not be the star of the show here but it's nice that they were given some thought as well. The paddles are super nice, I would prefer having a proper H-pattern gear selector, but until I decide to invest in the add on (which I will say it's nice that this wheel has some expandibility if I want to do that) these paddles will do the trick. Theyre metal and feel solid, the travel and click is incredibly satisfying.Unfortunately a problem I have with this set is also the paddles, they are attached to the wheel itself and so they turn and rotate with it. This is fine until I start getting into dirt racing where I will often be going lock to lock on the steering. I have to start hand over hand turning which makes it hard to tell whether I'm hitting the upshift or the downshift paddle. Leading to a number of mistakes in the process. A solution to this would be to mount the paddles on the base/column of the wheel instead of on the wheel itself so they stay in the same position regardless of how much the wheel is turned.Other than that this is a great kit and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who doesn't what to spend 400 dollars for a better set.

Sloppy...Real Sloppy
19 July 2020

I didn't buy the expensive model, but I did spent $200 on what I thought would be a good Racing Wheel. I had a MOMO for years and got lots of hours enjoyment with it. But, as time progresses, if you don't have later equipment, the newer programs won't allow older wheels to setup to them. Here's my complaint about the TMX. I spend more time trying to get the slop out of the wheel than I do with my racing programs. I've tried EVERY setup avail on both my NASCAR Heat and Tony Stewart Dirt Racing. For some reason when the wheel gets to the center position (Null) it feels like you loose control and the Force Feedback JERKS and you windup overcompensating to make any kind of even just a slight turn. I set the wheel up to only go 90 degrees and it still jerks at the Null ... MoreI didn't buy the expensive model, but I did spent $200 on what I thought would be a good Racing Wheel. I even turned off Force Feedback and that didn't help. OH, by-the-way, I'm not a Rookie at this PC Racing. I've been doing it since 1992.

This wheel actually does a good job.

Best thing about this wheel is the price. It is pretty much the bottom end of Force Feedback wheels. You can find cheaper bungie resistance wheels but they are useless IMHO. Being the bottom end of FFB wheels does not equate to bad in this case. This wheel actually does a good job. You can race with the best of them with this wheel without spending thousands of dollars. When I first got the wheel the gearing was a little chunky and vibration was too intense. The gearing smoothed out some with use and you can set the vibration levels in most games. This has a very good clamping system for desks or tables but no bolt mounts for a rig unfortunately. If you want that option spend a little more for Logitec g29/920. Why is there cords? And why are they so short!!!

Frustrated! I thought I was getting a great deal... Compared to other places I shopped this steering wheel/pedals set, it was by far the cheapest (by about $80).. I was super excited because I was buying it as a Christmas present for my husband to play forza. I assumed for the price this thing wouldn’t be wired to the Xbox and it would be Bluetooth or able to connect to the Xbox like the remotes do. But no, the pedals and the steering wheel are wired, one runs to the Xbox and then they connect to each other. This cord is like 3 ft long MAYBE, my husband pulled a kitchen chair up and was sitting way too close to the tv. That would have been nice to know or maybe the company referring people to get longer cords??? Is that even possible??? Or a stand, which is more money spent. I wonder if I wouldn’t have gone cheap, the other places would have had a better set up making this an enjoyable product. Strongly considering returning this productIf I cannot find a solution

[Rewarded Review] Amazing the difference Force Feedback Makes
29 December 2021

So I've been a life long gamer, the last time I had a steering wheel setup was on the Playstation 1 with the original Gran Turismo, fast forward 25+ years and I decided I'd give a racing wheel another try (as I have most of the Forza Games, plus Dirt Rally and a few others). Let me just say, what a difference 25 years makes! Force Feedback is amazing! Not only does it really feel like a car driving down the road, but most racing games allow for nearly infinite adjustability of the Force Feedback Settings. This wheel is actually too powerful on the highest settings, so I've dialed the strength back to 50% in most of my games. I'm playing to enjoy the games, not wrestle with the steering wheel, but some gamers might like the steering a lot stiffer, and this will ... MoreSo I've been a life long gamer, the last time I had a steering wheel setup was on the Playstation 1 with the original Gran Turismo, fast forward 25+ years and I decided I'd give a racing wheel another try (as I have most of the Forza Games, plus Dirt Rally and a few others). I'm playing to enjoy the games, not wrestle with the steering wheel, but some gamers might like the steering a lot stiffer, and this will deliver. The buttons on it feel well built like they won't break or stop responding, and in the rubber section of the wheel it feels very grippy and well built in your hands. The plastic part of the wheel feels a little cheap but it won't wear. As for the pedals, they do the job and aren't terrible, but also nothing to write about. After a few weeks I upgraded to the T-3PM pedals that Thrustmaster just released, and they are well worth the upgrade. I still have the pedals it came with as a back up in case the new pedal set runs into issues. If you've been thinking about getting a racing wheel, this one is great!

[Rewarded Review] Pretty good Racing Wheel
9 June 2020

I haven't used an at home video game racing wheel since the PS2 days, so I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I guess I was hoping for a slightly bigger jump in quality from a $60 PS2 racing wheel from 2006 to this $200 one. The upgrade over the last 15 years very well may be in the technology inside the wheel itself, but it would be nice to see in the material as well (its pretty cheap feeling plastic for the most part). The good:works well, feels pretty good while driving in game, settings are thorough. The bad:It was pain and a half to install, lots of uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting computer, etc. It took like 7 tries over the course of an hour and a half to finally get it up and running (and not because the install itself took so long, it just kept ... MoreI haven't used an at home video game racing wheel since the PS2 days, so I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I guess I was hoping for a slightly bigger jump in quality from a $60 PS2 racing wheel from 2006 to this $200 one. I have to hold down the base with my other foot (I eventually drilled the base into a piece of wood so the weight from my left foot keeps the wood and pedal base down).Layout of the controls is OK. I wish there were more than ONE button behind the steering wheel on either side (similar to a normal controller with a right trigger and a right bumper etc). The lack of those things (and the fact that a lot of racing games map handbrake/boost etc to certain buttons, some of which don't have button mapping customization) leads to sometimes having to hold the wheel very awkwardly in order to be able to press those buttons on the front.
