For the mid range wheel setups (between high end direct drive setups and low end without FF or with lower quality FF) The TX base is a great option, the force feedback was easy to adjust to a comfortable point for games like DiRT Rally. The cooling fan does a great job, turns off appropriately, and is fairly quiet. The paddles are comfortably large, there are plenty of buttons to map, and the leather wheel feels nice, however i often use gloves because FF can cause the leather wheel to rub my fingers raw after extended use. The pedals are adequate, and the brake pedal has a conical rubber piece to offer gradual resistance, and it does it quite well. Just make sure the stand you put it on has good grip with the floor, that brake is stiff with the mod. I would have ... TX and T300 servo bases have practicaly identical mechanism so the same smooth clear nice FFB. I mean great feedback. And I had also in my possesion T500rs and tspc racer which are more strong. But they should improve the thermal design of the wheelbase. So many problems that can be avoided. I still do believe one should buy it despite the bad reputation. The tx leather edition has a great rim, really nice leather feeling which is way betterbthan the 458 italia edition which is far more plasticky than it should ar the price point. So if you buy, upgrade firmware and when driving keep the internal fan always on (mode&button 8) to make sure your wheel base has adequate cooling from the beginning of the session. Once it gets hot problems occur..

The Leather wheel feels great to hold and is easy to grip; the metal shifters feel great also, providing a decent “click” feel when shifting. The pedals feel great and are well built, the inclusion of a rubber capped steel rod implant for the brake pedal is fantastic; as a weaker guy I find it much easier to use this way and don’t have to tire myself out after a few laps around my favourite circuits.Cons: The external compatibility is great although I’ve had some issues. I purchased a TSS Sparco & TH8A Shifter to complement my wheel (via TM Sim) but haven’t managed to get them working on Xbox. This wheel is amazing. The force feedback is crazy realistic, you can really feel the bumps and turns like in a real car. It is also WAY smoother than other wheels from a brand that starts with L. The leather feels super nice, like a real wheel in a BMW or something. Pedals are great, and the wheel easily clamps onto a table/desk. I am super satisfied, can?t recommend this wheel more! Shipping speed was great too.
I purchased the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Leather Edition for iRacing. I couldn't be happier with the product. It was extremely easy to set up and is a ton of fun to use. It is solidly constructed and performs as expected. I did my research and decided on a belt-drive versus gear-drive wheel. My Thrustmaster wheel is smooth and accurate and makes you feel as if you are actually in the race car. The force feedback mechanism is also very good...when I go off course or spin, the wheel reacts as I would expect it to. If you are serious about iRacing or racing-related video games, this rig won't disappoint.

I just put a piece of Velcro on the floor and it worked like a charm for those late brake entries.Things I wish were done better... The wheel D-pad is small and in an awkward location... the push button hats feel a bit cheap and don't offer much space for labeling functions as needed when switching between vehicles and sims. It would be SUPER if they could be back-lit since I run my sim in low ambient light levels. The rotary button isn't the best interface, its a little stiff for the type of knob they put on it. Perhaps a paddle or some knurls would probably fix that. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and highly recommend this to anyone that is looking to get a quality wheel that is a significant step up from the cheap stuff.
