After getting tired of lugging around an oversized backpack on 5-6 hour day trips and using a portable dromedary bag, I picked up this Uptake Hydration Pack as an option just big enough to store a warm layer, plenty of water and some food for those day trips where I want to feel lightweight.Very comfortable, definitely feels small on me after always carrying full size packs (I'm 5'11", 180lbs). Can see how it would work well for bike touring as well.

I have the Uptake 4L and needed a bigger one, and visually they are the same size, but in reallly it’s so much bigger. I recommend.

I'm super happy with this backpack. It carries all the things that you need for a day on the trails - enough water, room for snacks, sunscreen and other bits and pieces that you might need. I love that the chest straps are adjustable so that they sit comfortably on different bodies and the magnetic retractable drinking straw is so convenient. Would recommend!
