LOL I put love it as I am sure I will. Bought for my grandson who is 10 years old today. He lives in Christchurch, so I really appreciate your efficiency in sending it straight away. Many thanks.Gill:>)

This new version of Ticket to Ride not only has you traveling through Europe, it also adds a couple of game-changing features that improve your ticket to ride experience. I had grown tired of playing the original Ticket to Ride but this one made me enjoy playing again. Would definitely recommend even if you own a copy of the original.

Easy to learn but challenging and somewhat competitive. Good brain work. Also, must have this is basic game to buy the other editions.

Great game with a good balance of technical elements and chance - strategies are mainly focused on furthering your own ends without too much competitive blocking of opponents, which I consider best for beginner or intermediate level gamers. Things can get more feisty when you add more players, but it is still very much enjoyable as only a 2-player session, with slight rule variations to suit (only one player can occupy even double-width routes). The possibilities for being blocked are tempered by the introduction of station pieces, although going the long way around counts more towards the longest route - just keep an eye on how many trains you have left. The new mechanisms of tunnels and ferries add another point of difference over the original, with the player ... The possibilities for being blocked are tempered by the introduction of station pieces, although going the long way around counts more towards the longest route - just keep an eye on how many trains you have left. The new mechanisms of tunnels and ferries add another point of difference over the original, with the player having to sometimes play additional cards to construct the tunnel, and needing the valuable locomotive cards for ferries. Given some players may take advantage of the wild-card nature of the locomotives in order to assure their tunnel construction, it can sometimes be a long wait for one to come up to secure a ferry crossing. However you'll usually be able to work on something else while waiting, so periods of nothing but card drawing are generally kept to a minimum.Games usually take around an hour for 2 people, depending on the destinations given to complete and the luck with the cards, as always. Great for settling in before a longer, more technical game, or for playing best-of-three/five in series.
Played game with family - loved it! Challenging and Fun. Small pieces (plastic train cars) build trains according to color codes on map and coresponding color of train pics (cards) in your hand. Select random (secret) completion routes to gain more points. Like Catan but with trains rather than roads. Game gets really challenging with 3 or more players vying for necessary track routes to complete individual quests. Players can block your intended route forcing re-routes. When ready to graduate to more challenge - Rails and Sails adds ship route map to original train route....
Ticket to Ride is a fun game for all. We have the Days of Wonder edition game and really like it so we ordered the Europe edition. We like the variation of the game, but the instructions included in the game we felt were lacking. We were not sure what some of the symbols and route designs meant. Also some of the colors between the board and the cards were quite different on the game we received. I would recommend watching some of the videos that are online to understand how to play the Europe edition. Enjoy your train trips through Europe!
We love the USA map because we know where all the cities are. But honestly, once you play Europe a time or two it gets easy. 2 player was surprisingly good, my opponent did block me in a nasty way so I had to use a train station, and that was playing with no expansion. The 1912 expansion using the Big City cards really tightens up the map with 2 players. Be prepared to use your stations!
We really enjoy this game a lot! It has a learning curve, but once you get past it, it's an easy game to understand, and fun. I like that it can be 2 players or multiple players. My family is also excited that we can use the pieces with expansion sets. This game sold for much cheaper than I could find on amazon or other sites, but the quality is fantastic. One small thing I don't like about the game design is that the map of Europe does not look like your traditional map, and the names are not the same. For instance, Vienna is labeled as Wien. Historically, it's interesting, as Wien is what the city is called there. But I think this game provides a fantastic way to learn geography, and that's stymied by having a nondistinctive map with odd names. But that's a very ... MoreWe really enjoy this game a lot! I love the variety, and replay ability. Every game is different, with different outcomes. Love how you keep score. There is drama, as in, will you get blocked trying to complete a long route? Yet there are ways to accomplish your goal, even when blocked. Had extended family here, and all really enjoyed it. Great game for all ages.
Ticket to Ride Europe added tunnels, ferries and stations compared to the orginal base game.Instructions aren’t terrible to learn. Just give it a read and look at the cards, it’ll all click. It would be a good idea to have some sort of card holder, you can accumulate a lot.You collect cards with destinations and collect colored train cards to get you there.Love that the edge of board has a score keeper makes it so much easier, no pen and paper needed.Great family fun!
