Very tasty rice just like all the other Tilda varieties, the main detraction with this one is the rice is very slimey and it kind of clumps together. Still nice enough to eat though.

Country of origin it says is UK?? Then they describe 'trust us to bring you rice from around the world that you'll always be proud to serve.' Very misleading. Main point: rice gets mushy, sticky, uneven consistency.

I tried this as an upgrade from my usual go-to long grain rice. Poor error of judgement on my part, I should have read the reviews first. This is over cooked in well under the states cooking time and just ends up mushy. Back to my old favourite which cooks well, is light and fluffy and better value.

I bought it on offer, so did not pay full price. Soaked it for 1 h and cooked in a chicken pilaf which came out very nice. However, the rice cooked very quickly and is best to be used in dishes which do not require lots of stirring as my guess is it will go mushy.What I liked about this rice is the taste - plain and nice, without any aftertaste of plastic smell as I encounter more and more in cheap varieties.What I disliked - may go mushy and could overcook easily, but may be it's just me mot reading instructions :)
This is in my ocado basket almost every week. This is my favourite of all the Tilda microwave rices, as it's so simple and you can add whatever you would like to it or keep it plain. Really is like the rice I grew up with in America and it's so handy to have on hand, as both my husband and I are disabled. They cook up lovely and moist (though a few bags have been dry.) I tend to sprinkle some chives and black pepper on them for added flavour or some homemade ranch seasoning. So versatile! Would recommend these Tilda rices to anyone that struggles to cook for themselves, they truly are a life saver.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. The grains are a bit fatter and rounder than your everyday basmati, and end up a little firmer too. I tossed them in a beef stir fry for a few minutes rather than microwaving, enjoyed the results. I wouldn't necessarily buy pre-cooked rice at full price, but would consider this on promotion.
I don't understand the bad reviews. I've been buying the small bags which always cooked perfectly in a 2:1 ratio. I bring to a boil then turn down to the lowest simmer for about 10mins then turn off for 10 and it's perfect and fluffy. I decided to take the plunge and get the big bag and it's exactly the same. Perfect fluffy rice every time.
I've ordered bags of the stuff and literally never had an issue unless I've gotten my timings wrong. I just don't understand why folks are having so many problems if they're following the instructions. Deep pan, boiling water, 12 mins, 3 mins of steaming. Delicious, consistent rice.

It was tasty though fairly bland and as with most packet rice it had very soft/clumpy kind of texture that's not unpleasant, i enjoyed it but i don't think it's that comparable to rice you cook yourself especially as i like mine a bit al dente. For convenience you can't really beat it and it feels like it would hold up well in recipes like burritos or egg fried rice. I thought it was me! Couldnt work out why this rice cooked up all stodgy. Then I read previous reviews and found other customers had had the same disappointing results. Tilda, you need to sort this out as you have ruined my recipe & dinner. Do NOT recommend.
