It doesn’t seem like the color will chip off or anything.\n\nIt does grind well and easily, and I think the grind is consistent in terms of granule size so long as you set it to your preference. It uses the same burrs as Timemore's (much) more expensive offerings which already is a pretty awesome deal. The plastic body feels very strong and durable but it's still plastic. I've dropped the handle a couple of times now and it's held up very well, though. The grounds repository is annoying; it's very easy to cross-thread it and gives me concerns about breaking it when in a morning pre-coffee daze.Like the previous reviewer, I'd give this grinder a 4.5/5 if I could, so I'll balance theirs out. This is a good-quality grinder for the price and likely the most inexpensive grinder that should be considered when trying to improve your cup.

Echoing many of the other reviews here, this is a fantastic grinder for the price. From the sleek packaging to the aluminum outer body, this feels like a noticeably more premium product than entry-level manual grinders like the Hario Skerton. The grind action is smooth and the textured outer body makes it easy to hold on to.The C1 does suffer some minor static issues since the grind catcher is plastic but the C2 comes with a metal catcher that is supposed to resolve these issues. Disassembly is easy, and a cleaning brush is provided, although it is a little finicky to work around the brush to clean the body.Overall, this is an excellent grinder that outclasses other grinders in its price range.

Simply Excellent

I’ll start by admitting I’m a coffee novice. I just wanted to make the switch from pre-ground to fresh-ground coffee for my morning cup, which are brewed in a French press. In my search, I also wanted something that I could “buy for life”, which biased me to hand grinders for two reasons: (1) good electric grinders are very expensive, and (2) in theory, the motors on an electric grinder should die sooner than stainless steel conical burrs. However, I was scared of hand grinders because I heard they could be slow (including brand names like Hario).Fast forward a few weeks of researching and I finally settled on the C2. I was a bit skeptical since I hadn’t heard of the brand before, but when I first held the grinder I could tell it was very high quality. From build quality to grinding speed, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. If you’re looking for something high quality, speedy, and sleek, I encourage you to seriously consider the C2.As I prefaced, I’m by no means an expert on gauging grind consistency, but for my needs I can confidently say I look forward to grinding beans with this every day.

So much better than my old ceramic burr grinder
8 May 2020

My previous grinder of four years was a $20 Hario knockoff with ceramic burrs, and I couldn't get my coffee to taste like I'd had in fancy coffee shops. I thought my technique was the major shortcoming (which may still be true), but after getting this grinder, the flavors really do come through, and the grind is visibly more uniform! After about 3 weeks of use I'm still very satisfied, and I think this is actually the first time I've actually made proper-tasting coffee. It feels like this will last for at least four more years, which would make it absolutely worth it.Pros:- It looks so cool!- Much more consistent grind- Smoother and easier grinding action- Metal body feels much sturdier- Grind size adjustment is more tight--my old grinder had a lot of play ... MoreMy previous grinder of four years was a $20 Hario knockoff with ceramic burrs, and I couldn't get my coffee to taste like I'd had in fancy coffee shops. The included cleaning brush is nice, but having to do that every time is a little annoying.- Hopper is a little small--can only grind for a cup or two at a time.

Surprisingly Premium
11 January 2023

I bought this as my first hand grinder, graduating from a cheap Bodum electric. Even with some plastic construction, the grinder feels very premium. Grinding is a pleasant experience, the adjustment mechanism makes sense as a “click-based” system, though would definitely benefit from markings to make it easier to recall previous settings. The biggest downside is how weirdly cheap the threading on the grounds container feels. I’ve gotten some very ugly squeaks out of it while unscrewing it and it feels oddly cheap compared to the rest of the grinder. Overall, for the price, these complaints seem unimportant! It’s a great value purchase as a quality, portable grinder.

We started with a very basic Stokes ($10) ceramic grinder with plastic mechanical parts. Within a month the shaft had fractured the plastic piece which drove the ceramic grinding cone...JBWeld re-cement the shaft to the cone...but the ability to adjust the grind for different coarse/fine settings was lost. That fixed setting worked fine for french press coffee but a year later...happily in love with fresh ground coffee...we went looking for an upgrade. WOW did we strike gold!!The TIMEMORE C2 grinds coffee in a fraction of the time the ceramic burrs took and the resulting product is a coarseness that is totally consistent....from grind to grind and within each grind. Smooth operation, rugged dependability and perfectly uniform grounds...with any level of coarseness ... MoreWe started with a very basic Stokes ($10) ceramic grinder with plastic mechanical parts. At first glance I thought it was an affectation...but it turns out the coffee grounds emerge with a considerable amount of static charge. They cling to the grinder plate and the sides/bottom of the base with religious enthusiasm. That little brush quickly and easily moves all the coffee you've ground to where you want it to go.

I recently started to look into manual coffee grinders, I have a good electric but it is noisy, and I made a mistake to go cheap with the first purchased. I was disappointed right out of the box. I continued to search and decided on the Timemore C2. Then the search to purchase started. I found Eight Ounce and it was the best deal I have seen to date and pulled the trigger. While I am currently out of beans, I am working on a imported bag of ground coffee, I LOVE the C2. 200 times better then the first one (that I got rid of same day I got the C2). it is sturdy, I had 3g of beans that I ground and the consistency is very uniform. I can't wait to buy a new bag of beans to really get using it.
