Great grinder, but it did require quite a lot of seasoning to produce the great cups I was expecting. I put about 7kg of beans through it before it consistently beat my older grinder head-to-head in blind cuppings. I’d recommend it for filter enthusiasts who are looking for an entry to high-clarity flat burrs for light roasts.

This doesnt work very well to stop popcorning. The other version that is sold from this store works perfectly. I made a mistake buying this one and while it does reduce some of the issues, only buy this if you want extended capacity. Well made nonetheless and great customer service.

Shipping was very fast. The item has a good fit (not perfect but seats and has a good seal). It solves 95% of popcorning and makes it possible to slow feed without a ton of coffee shards spewing up. It doesn’t solve all popcorning but makes it more than bearable.

A good product that does eliminate the issue of popcorning and beans not sliding down the hopper, so it's definitely worthwhile from that alone. However, I do wish it was as easy to slide the lid open as the normal hopper. I had to sand down the parts that keeps the lid secure to make it smoother and not catch on the lid when I try to slide it without lifting it a bit first. Honestly, since there are magnets keeping the lid in place, I question the need for those physical catches in the first place, especially as the original hopper doesn't have such raised parts on the inside surface.

064s

I've had the 064s just over a month now. I'm very happy with it - my previous grinder was fantastic, but this is a huge upgrade in the cup. I found I needed to put about 1kg-1.5kg of coffee through it before it started to behave nicely. Since seasoning I'm now around 1.4-1.6 for most coffees that I'm drinking.I get "0" retention. The workflow is great and it's not at all messy (I do RDT). The fines catcher is effective and enjoyable. I use the fastest RPM for espresso and the slowest for filter, so having the dial at the back is not at all difficult to adjust.The hopper is the only thing I find a bit annoying as there's a bit of a bean prison at the back of the little piece of plastic which stops you putting your fingers in the burrs. I push them down, wait for it to finish grinding, then take the lid off and wipe my finger around the bean prison to check nothing's at the back.Once or twice I've had a bean just not want to go down the auger and I have to turn the motor off and on a few times. Extremely large beans (maragogype) need a little bit of pressure to start feeding into the auger past the grate in the bean chute. Peaberries are no problem. I’m incredibly impressed by my Timemore 078 grinder. It’s built with design, function, and quality in mind. Less fines and consistent grinds, the perfect combination for filter coffee. Having control over the rpm’s is a big plus…..no stalling and minimal to no retention. Not just a great grinder for the buck, but just a great grinder!
