Great watch for outdoor activities. I'm a camper. I wanted a watch that would stand up to rain, dirt, dishwashing and sweat without worrying about ruining the band, or dealing with wet, uncomfortable material against my skin. The webbing material and case are great for that. Can be cleaned and dries out quickly. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, with no buckle digging in. I also wanted to be able to see the time in the dark without having to turn on a headlamp or lantern, so I love the light up dial. It really is the perfect watch for my needs and I'm pleased with this purchase.

Good basic watch

Seems like all of today's watches look like wall clocks on a wrist. If you do any kind or work with your hands in tight places a big watch just gets in the way and hangs on everything.I was looking for a analog watch with a white face, something that I can wear to work and hunting. I found this one yesterday online. Checked the local store and it was in stock.Even though I've only had it a short time I've found that it's lightweight, easy to set, easy to see and read. The velcro band fits all but the biggest wrists and it's soft and comfortable. The Indiglo feature is great for reading the time in the dark even without my glasses. Great watch but not with Velcro band

Like the watch. I’ve had several of this model before. Don’t care for the Velcro band and immediately replaced it. Recommend the watch if available with regular band ie no Velcro.

I like that it’s light

I like that it’s light weight plastic, easy to read, has date and indigo night light. Like the Velcro strap, easy on and off. Durable. 2nd one. Lasts for many years of abuse.

It's very easy to read. The second hand is almost perfectly indexed to the minute marks. This watch is about the closest thing I have found to the traditional "Railroad Approved" watches.

Practical and reliable

It is more of a robust practical watch than a stylish one. I was disappointed to see that it was already working when it arrived. Normally there is a plastic tag behind the winding mechanism that you extract when you are ready to start using the watch. As it is,I dont know how long it has been working and how much life remains in the battery.

Timex T49713 Mens "Expedition Camper" Wrist Watch.

The Timex "Expedition Series" of wrist watches all seem to be very nice & of a very high quality finish & physical feel wise. They always have beautiful workmanship on the various materials that can be encountered or purchased in the Expedition Series ( I personally own 4 of them now ). Also these watches keep absolutely superb time, exceptionally good in my experience of ownership of them. The "Indiglo" light function works exceptionally well too. I have read & found that some Timex watches are not the quietest wrist watches around but I'm slightly hearing impaired & leave my watches in the bathroom once taken off, so not a problem in that respect. I do obviously like this series & Timex product, you can tell! It also has been 24 yrs since my first purchase of a Timex Expedition example. One point I will highlight & stress here on this model in particular is that it doesn't seem to have a very long strap, 21cm/8" of "useable" stap ( it is a Velcro strap remember, so it needs the "tounge" part with male part Velcro to return 180 on to itself to secure it! I have a 19cm/7" circumference male wrist& I feel that this is the limit in reality for this particular watch strap. This particular model Expedition also has a quite small face to it, only 30mm/1" diameter but I actually prefer small faced watches! I tend to catch big faced ones on things & scratch them up! Alround a very very nice "simple" watch, exceptionally easy to read ( even with Presbyopia on set!!), white background with black hands always ensures this. The hour hands line up very well with hour & minute increment markings & the date is ( also black #'s on a white background ) also very easy to read, albeit not that big, only a smallish faced watch remember!!! I haven't yet disliked anything on my "Timex" mini collection! Cheers!

Very loud watch, the most noise of any watch I've owned. Strap is no good. These two things make me still prefer the Casio MRW white dial. Movement winds very smooth. Indiglo is bright though activates with the slightest touch. Good seller, no dramas. Brand new, untouched condition. If all Timexes are as loud as this one, I'm not ever buying another Timex

What does this mean?

It's like my first Timex of 80 years ago . . . ticks right along. Only thing I don/'t like is that it runs on a battery. Those old mechanical Timex's were great . . . built like an army tank.
