I ordered this in late June when I discovered it was back in stock (black expansion bracelet). It was O/S for just over a year. (I was on an email notification list, but was not informed it was back.) When it arrived, I was surprised to see the LCD display had a pronounced green tinge to it. It's not objectionable, just not what I wanted, nor what was pictured. I prefer the grey display, the one I remembered from the '80s, and what was/is pictured on the website. I would gladly order another one if it had its traditional grey LCD display again.

This is a very nice watch if you like digitals. But, as other reviews have said, this watch is overpriced based on the plasic build. Timex has the exact watch, called the digital classic which is slightly different and costs half the price. But this is a nice retro watch and the expansion bracelet fits very well and is super easy to put on and take off. I would buy this watch again.

I got this for my husband’s birthday because he had his eye on it for a while. We were tight on money so he was under the impression that we’d skip the bday gifts for now and just enjoy the day. I’m a gift giver though, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get him the only thing he really wanted on his day, especially since the watch is decently priced for all the features it comes with. Needless to say, he was genuinely surprised when it showed up at our door (I believe it came about a day sooner than estimated). He loves the fact that it fits his wrist perfectly and has even said he could sleep in it if he wanted to because it’s so comfortable. Not too flashy but not boring just like him lol we love it.

I have been buying Timex for 40 years. About 5-8 years ago the classic Indigo design began to fail at the case tabs where the band is attached with pins. I would get maybe 2 years out of it so the return on investment was pretty good. The last one I bought failed after about a month at the same place. It failed because the design is defective. The failure occurs where there is a screw hole that holds the back to the case ( see picture). Any engineer knows that increases the stresses in that area and should be a BIG no-no in a design. I sent a note to Timex with documenting pictures and they said to send it back and they would repair it. I did but they charged me $8 for returning their defective design. I received the "repaired" watch and the failure occurred for the same reason about a month or so later. I finally epoxied the band to the case. The case for the T80 (for this review) is also made of resin so "buyer beware" since Timex does not stand behind their product. I am 75 years old and I am not hard on a watch. SM MIT 1969
My wrist is small, 6-1/8", but the watch is not overwhelming. Thanks Timex for respecting the environment and posting the manual online. Instructions are easy to follow. I had no trouble setting it up and turning off the hourly chime that some have complained about. The expansion band is a little fussy to adjust, but I managed with the help of YouTube. I love not having the "bump" of a clasp or buckle under my wrist since I spend 8 - 10 hours a day at the computer. Very easy for my 60 YO eyes to read. Looking forward to getting a black one when they're back in stock. Hey Timex, have you thought about making the chime OFF by default? The majority of complaints posted around the net about all your digital watches are born out of frustration with the chime.
This is my favorite digital watch. I originally bought it for the INDIGLO light so I could read my watch when driving at night or on my nightly walks. It looks good too. If you like the picture, you won't be disappointed. I ordered it in black because it looks more formal, but now that I own it, I feel like black will hold up better over time because the scratches won't show so easily. The size also works really well on smaller arms like mine. It is small enough to stay out of the way with a dress shirt too. One other reason I selected it is because it has exposed lugs for the strap. Sometimes I replace the straps, and having exposed lugs makes it easier to find replacement bands that fit properly. One other reason I selected it is because it has exposed lugs for the strap. Sometimes I replace the straps, and having exposed lugs makes it easier to find replacement bands that fit properly. One feature that I found annoying at first, but ended up liking a lot is the hourly chime. I activated it somehow and wasn't quite sure how to turn it off. However, I work in an office where it is easy to get wrapped up in the work and lose track of time. The hourly chime pulls me back into the present, so that I don't miss any important meetings. It uses common CR 2016 batteries that are affordable and easy to replace yourself. (Look it up on UTUBE.) I ended up ordering a another one because I liked so much. The purchase experience was great; it arrived quickly in nice-looking plastic case. I have never seen this watch in a store, so the website may be your best bet if you want one. Believe or not, I own a Submariner but this watch is my daily beater.
I love this watch. It is so comfortable on my wrist since I can set the strap length exactly as I like it. It displays time, month, date and keeps track of the day of the week because when setting the current year can be selected. I've noted how people just assume it's an Apple watch! The alarm function is very convenient and although I don't use the timer much, when I do it's right there without having to dig out my cell phone. Times has done a great job with this watch. I love it.
I recieved the Timex t80 as a Christmas gift and it was love at first sight. The t80 looks a thousand times better than my old black an yellow iron man watch. The expansion band provides a sleek and seamless appearance and fits comfortably without pinching or scratching. The light up face give just the right amount of light to make it readable without being blinding in the dark. Setting the time was easy and setting my alarm was intuitive.However...The alarm on the t80 can only be set to either daily or off... and the light only stays on for as long as you hold the button. It looks like I'll be keeping the ironman handy for my weekday alarm.Would be cool if timex released a t80 with additional features in a couple years, maybe around Christmas time? Hint hint.
This is not a well put together product. The strap is attached to the watch face by two very slim and flimsy pieces of metal. Mine fell apart after less than a month of use. I'm trying my best to return it but the customer support is woeful and they aren't providing any details on how to return for a refund despite me providing photo evidence of the issue. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I've been left with no choice. Avoid.
This watch isn't great when it comes to the build quality. A plastic watch face and acrylic lens. My watch came with micro scratches, but I really did not mind until I saw other reviews online. Other reviews have complained how the paint can melt in the hot weather easily. The gold paint on the plastic face of the watch will scratch easily and it will come off when it is exposed to water over time. Overall, if you buy this watch, don't wear it everyday because it will wear and tear easily; and only last for a few months. For the price, it's very expensive for the poor build quality. I'm upset how the brand name does not live up to the brand's build quality.
