The lemon curd was a bit pricey. I think it would be fine between the layers of a yellow cake...covered with white mountain frosting. But I tried in tarts and covered with meringue. The lemon tartness is perfect, however, it was just too sweet for me. I would probably make my own.

To say that there is too much acid in a product made with lemon sounds a bit mad but in this jar of curd it was mouthtingingly over the top. The counterbalance might have been the sugar but that didnt work either because there was far too much of it. The texture was wrong too, it was very wet and lacked a rich butteryness that makes curd a pleasure to eat. Poor.

This jam is so so so good! If you are a jam girl like me, you will not be disappointed! I literally put this on a piece of healthy bread and ghee butter for a treat! I am almost done with this jar after a week and I have been savoring it lol. Now that my husband bought two more jars though, I don’t need to! Yay!

I like lemon curd, and wouldnt say Im crazy about it, but once in a while I get a taste for it, so I picked up a jar of Wilkin and Sons. Its so good. They got the texture perfect and didnt skimp on the butter, which, to me, is just as important as the sugar and where most brands go wrong. I love it on scones, bagels, and the occasional muffin. Its fabulous on the little blueberry snack buns in my photo. Its quite sugary, so I dont use much. The serving size is a tablespoon, but I use closer to a teaspoon. I just need enough to spread on top of a piece of warm bread and make sort of a glaze, and its perfect.

Delicious Blueberry Preserve With Many Uses

Delicious! High quality product. Love the bits of blueberries throughout. Wonderful on English muffins, toast, pancakes, and waffles. Add to yoghurt, too. Many uses. Not too sweet either.

Far too sweet & lacking blackberry flavour
11 February 2019

I received this to review. This was very disappointing, hence the two stars. Pros - Good colour and texture. Cons - It had an indeterminate fruit flavour, overwhelmed by its sweetness. I could not detect the distinctive blackberry flavour that I had hoped for. I tried substituting it for redcurrant jelly in a Cumberland type sauce, but even after the addition of the port, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar, it was still too sweet.

Lovely jam
23 December 2022

As a child, this was the only jam I would eat - the rest tasted so over sugared and sickly, while this was tart and delicious and packed with currants. Nowadays you can buy excellent low sugar jams, which also taste of fruit... and uniquely, this one is preferable to the low sugar alternatives. It's just really, really good jam, and nothing can be nicer on a scone and cream, or in a cake. Lovely.

More of a Jam Than Jelly
1 February 2019

I was expecting a clean, sharp taste, not something that melts in the mouth and turns into a thick, overly sweet, blackberry sauce. Never having tried this before, more used to blueberry and grape jellies which are clear, clean and sharp tasting, I wasnt expecting this. Not totally bad, I did give it a 3 star rating because the taste and texture did grow on me as I reached for crumpet number 2... perhaps it was the sugar hit, but I did start to like it regardless of the odd texture. I wouldnt purchase it though... but thank you Ocado for allowing me to test it.

Strange texture, not very nice to taste
28 April 2022

Usually get own brand but always jelly not jam so thought would try this. Texture is strange not jam or jelly and the only discernable taste is an overwhelming sweetness, none of the berries taste was expecting. Can't recommend this product and would not purchase again.

Wilkins Redcurrant Jelly
2 June 2023

This jelly has a rich aroma, is smooth and a joy to use. It’s often difficult to find redcurrant jelly so I was amazed to find it and made by Wilkins as well. The price was ver reasonable.
