First, this is rpg is really in the genre of loot games. Better loot, faster gaming. It's an incredibly fun, easy to play game. Honestly slow until epic/legendary difficulty because that is where the best drops are.You will like this game also if you an altaholic, that is, like to try difference skill combinations.

A fantastic game, but a poor port.

Titan Quest has been one of my go to games for years for dungeon crawling and loot hoarding. However, I've always preferred these games to be played with a controller and was happy to see it coming to switch for portability as well. While the game is more or less completely intact from what I've played so far, it's conversion to controller input has been disappointing. You don't feel as if you're directly in control of the character like you do in other games on console, instead it feels like a mish mash of mouse simulation and analog stick movement. Targeting can be very frustrating as a melee character, particularly when you end up targeting something far away and an enemy is right behind you.The other down side to the port is the bugs. But also on several effects.Despite the problems, which I can live with easily enough, I really enjoy playing this game again on my switch, but if you're a PC player, it's best to play it there first if you haven't yet.

Ran into an end boss that just obliterated my character. it took a week to level up enough to finally take the boss down and that was BARELY.Overall though, this is a fun, challenging, although sometimes tedious game. One that is good to use as something to play until a major title comes out.

Alot of love went into making this game, and it is abundantly clear
15 July 2020

This game is highly addictive. Exploration through many different types of environments, each with their own enemies to slay. Its a very hard game to put down because it is so much fun. I cant help but smile everytime I play it. It is the best "dungeon crawling, exploration" game I have come across for the Switch. And it runs super smooth, no long loads, pop ins, or other gremlins that can hamper games. If you are into this type of games this one should be at the top of your list.I did a lot of research before I bought it, I looked at all of the games that were in the same class as this and this game got the best reviews for numerous reasons. If you are reading this do yourself a favor- buy the game. You can get it absurdly cheap on Ebay

Inconsistent mythological ARPG
10 August 2018

Titan Quest is an action RPG, similar to Diablo 2. You travel throughout Greece, Egypt and the Orient, and in this version of the game, Act 4 is included as well (which was part of the Immortal Throne Expansion from 2007.)I'm playing this on Xbox One and it's interesting to see how the developers ported a PC game from 2006 to consoles with controller support. After 50 hours of game play, the game is fun, and there are numerous bugs and crashes (which I've experienced quite a few times.) As others have stated, these game bugs appear in the Nintendo Switch version. Still these hold backs aren't stopping me from playing this game. The developers released an expansion called Ragnarok in 2017. This switch version DOES NOT come with the new expansion.

Nice Hack&Slash RPG

The port of Titan Quest to the Switch was done well, overall. Some inconveniences and awkward control choices may have been better, but most controls mirrored other Switch standards. The game mostly runs well on the Switch with occasional frame-rate errors. There are crashes and terrain holes (spots on the borders that trap the character, requiring a re-boot to resolve), but only rarely. The content and options for character skills and outfitting are enormous and lead to significant time being spent analyzing the best choices. There is significant influence/education of Greek Mythology, and the encounters are well-presented. NPC’s speak, as well as provide written text, and each has unique voice and tone. There is significant influence/education of Greek Mythology, and the encounters are well-presented. NPC’s speak, as well as provide written text, and each has unique voice and tone. The monsters are not normally challenging if you have appropriate level and equipment, but Bosses can be very difficult and your success is well-served by using strategies (like kiting) to avoid mass “aggro’s”. Actual combat is simple, but switching to cast spells or use different weapons may take some practice and careful thought. Ages under 12 (or over 70) may be limited in that way.Progress seems to be rewarded in an even and timely manner. (Turning off the “common” loot is recommended after Level 3, to reduce constant return to cities to “sell” your stuffed bags.) Most of the time, you are glad to gain a level when it happens, and rarely does it happens too quickly. Performance improvements are gradual, but level 12 is significantly improved over level 9.One of the best options of the game is to play with others. A single Switch can support two players on a TV with a split screen, using extra pair of controllers. That mode seems to work very well.Up to six can play in the same game, if each has his own Switch and his own copy of the program. Local mode seems to work reasonably well, but networked version has some problems (frequent crashes and no means to communicate with each other). When three of us played together, remotely, we needed a conference call to stay open as we played. In all, we have had many hours of fun and are still entertained, while less than half-way through the game’s story. The game (as done on PC original) is really a 2D game with 3D graphics used to enhance the visual feel. But your view can’t rotate, and you have no ability to climb, swim, “fly”, etc. as in other newer games (like Zelda: BotW). The path of play is rather narrow and everyone does the same path. But the differences in character choices can radically alter which Mobs are difficult or easy, so playing the game again still presents interest and appeal.

Not as bad as reviews describe, if you enjoy PC version, this will do the justice.
15 April 2023

The reviews about the port to Switch were more on the negative side, but it actually plays very well with the adjustments made for Switch specifically. It is a bit more chill to play compared to PC due to auto targeting in combat. There are some bugs where the game crashes however, usually when opening loot.

Let me say it outright, I love this game! The wife and I have spent hundreds of hours playing this game and have got to legendary difficulty as it is couch co-op. I huge HUGE plus in my book. I also have not played it in 7 months so it may of changed since I last played it. Overall the game runs fine, smooth FPS in single player. Controls are great, easy to use and make pretty good sense although targeting can be a pain sometimes... Now the big but... The bugs!!!! As I said above, I have not played it in a while but good lord.. Graphic bugs, duplication bugs (allows players when playing 2p to duplicate legendary items lol), game crashing bugs(particularly the underworld boss battle that would need repeating 5-10 times...) Inventory glitches...Overall I would ... MoreLet me say it outright, I love this game! PC game brought to consoles
15 October 2018

Titan Quest is among my favorite PC games that released over 10 years ago. Now it's available to play on the go on Nintendo Switch. Looks just as great and plays very similar. The ability to now play with a friend on the same console is an amazing new feature. The latest DLC is not available on consoles though.

Solid Western RPG Despite Some Technical Hitches
3 May 2019

Originally released June 26 2006 for the PC, Titan Quest is a bit of a cult classic that finally made its way to consoles over a decade later. Despite some some technical hitches here and there, some of which have been patched out, the Switch version holds up well to other versions graphically, and is the full awesome core experience that the other versions have. If you haven't played it already, it's worth the full $40 USD price in my opinion, regardless of your platform of choice. But if you find this on sale the way I did, don't hesitate, this is worth it.
