From Franklin of USA, described as an APP (Advanced Proprietary Polymer), Titebond III has been formulated as a dedicated wood glue to give you the ease of application of aliphatic/PVAs and the water resistance of polyurethane glues. Making an exceptionally strong bond on wood-to-wood joints, it has longer open time and higher viscosity than conventional PVAs and will maintain integrity at lower application temperatures. All of which makes for easier and less fraught assembly procedures. Polyurethane glue has undoubted flexibility of use and massive strength but is a very persistent adhesive, difficult to clean up from equipment and particularly hands. Titebond III has been designed to give you the strength of wood-to-wood bonds without the problems. It cleans up with water whilst wet, sands off without softening when fully cured, is unaffected by finishes, solvent and heat and is mildew resistant. It is suitable for interior and exterior use. Please shake bottle well before use. Titebond III Ultimate wood glue has been independently tested for lead, cadmium and other metals under ASTM F963 and 16 CFR 1303 (total lead content). These are the testing methods specified for toy safety under the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. It has also reviewed by an independent toxicologist and conforms to ASTM D4236 for art and craft materials.

Bought this 4oz bottle & put it in my pocket not knowing the cap was defective. By the time I got home, glue was all over my clothes. The pushdown cap wasn't sealing properly. Called customer service Thurs. and Sat. I had a new replacement cap. Learned a good lesson. Squeeze the bottle at the sotre to make sure it seals properly.

Purchased this to create double-thickness plywood and MDF bases for making removable bench mounts for 2 vises, a small drill press and a bench grinder. Easy to work with, and formed a strong bond quickly. I had very little mess, but what there was cleaned up much more easily than some other products. We'll see how long the leftover lasts now that the seal has been broken on the tube, but even if it hardens before I get around to using it again, it was a good value. And I have some ideas for other uses in different projects.

I have been using Titebond III for many years, and have never had a joint fail due to the glue. I used it when I constructed an oak rockinghorse from 26 separate blocks a few years ago - all joints needed to be very strong and perfect. Only a couple of critical joints were supplemented with dowels or screws. I also use it for external joinery, where it has never let me down. It also has a very long shelf life - my workshop fluctuates from a few degrees centigrade to about 30 and the glue is still usable several years after purchase.

Have used this product in the past with great success. So the prospect of opening a new bottle of Ultimate Wood Glue is certainly very appealing. The sheer joy that I know will arise from my skilful application of this goo to various surfaces is something that I anticipate with tremendous excitement. Indeed, this anticipation is currently flooding my brain with so many feel good chemicals that I am almost too scared to open the bottle for fear of breaking the spell. Perhaps I shall leave the glue sitting on the shelf, just for a while ..... no rush.
I've tried many other wood glues for outdoor projects and find no comparison to Ultimate's superior performance. The bonding is definitely waterproof, as I've used it on garden pond projects where the wood is in direct contact with the ground -- year around. However, I cannot comment on submersion issues. Both work time and clamp times are longer than most wood glues, but bonding is great. To ensure a permanent joint for outdoor use, I always use fasteners as a backup. It can be painted, but does not take stain. Thus, wiping away glue from joints is a must. If I need a longer work time and/or waterproof guaranty with any project, such as tabletop glueing, this is my go-to adhesive. Cleanup is easy with dish soap and warm water. I purchase larger quantities of this glue to fill smaller containers for controlled use and handy storage. I have found that the shelf life in a sealed container can be in excess of 2 years, before it starts to develop a skin. If that happens, discard it to guaranty quality performance.
I recently purchased this glue based purely on the blurb that goes with it. Sort of waterproof, strong, quick to set etc etc.... The purchase was made in the dead of Winter, so, the lowest common factor was the ambient temperature. My workshop is unheated, and despite the mild current weather, it did fall, or hover around the minimum required. Despite that, I carried on, and surprisingly, if left alone long enough, it set without any problem. For that I was well pleased, easy to apply, spread, wipe off residual amounts and so on. All in all, it is working brilliantly, nothing has fallen apart yet, and I think it is doing the job well.
Love this glue, particularly gluing darker woods as it dries up darker. It sets up with just a very slight hint of "give" to the glue - not crystal hard like other varieties. This means seasonal wood movement is less likely to break the glue. It is so much stronger than the wood fibers around it, I feel reasonably safe gluing up large picture frames (6" cuts) with the 45-degree ends butt-glued.Open time isn't terribly long, but long enough. I haven't actually run into but 1 lamination project that the open time was suspect. That was laminating what would become a 30" circle. I used a Titebond "long open time" product, but it's yellow glue, and cures brittle. It will likely go bad in the bottle before I use much of it again. I have used this glue for years and have never been disappointed. It is waterproof so works for nearly any kind of project. If you clamp your parts for about 30 minutes it will hold enough to remove the clamps and move on to the next assembly while the glue totally cures. If you are staining your project, make sure to wipe of any excessive glue immediately so your stain will penetrate the wood evenly. If a small amount drives on your wood, it will seal the surface and will not allow the stain to penetrate. Use a small amount of water on a rag to remove the excess glue. Use as little water as possible as the water can raise the grain of the wood. Remember to give your project a quick sand after the glue has drive to insure a perfect finish. The thiness of the glue make it great for trying to fix small cracks or securing knots in a piece of wood where others would.leave a gap amf make ot difficult to get that seamless look. It makes for easy spreading as well. Cleanup is a breeze with some simple water and a paper towel or cloth. Once dry, sanding it is very easy or running a razor blade across ot scrapes it off wuite nice like it is wax. It has a great bond that holds so well.
I bought this because of the outstanding reviews and I'm surprised by the results I got and not in a good way. This "glue" is tinted water. You can start out with a grape sized amount and you'll end up with barely any trace of it as it dries because of all the water evaporating from it! There is only one other reviewer saying this so either all of these good reviews are paid for or this is a new profit making decision by the company. It's so runny that it's impossible to bond 2 pieces of wood together and will just soak right into it it rather than sticking between. It's trash.
