Regular Flex. The allnew Vokey SM9 wedges are the most versatile, accurate and forgiving design yet, with 6 grind options and a wide loft range for a precise fitting. Titleist has improved the Progressive CG concept originally introduced in the SM8, by maintaining the forward CG in the front face and raising it vertically to the topline. It still produces a solid feeling in a wedge that squares at impact to give you consistent distance and trajectory control with stability. The new patented Spin Milled process tightens allowable tolerances that produce consistently sharper grooves for higher, more consistent spin. The Vokey SM9 wedges bring the ultimate in versatility, consistency and accuracy to your bag.

Been playing the SM wedges for years. Previously games the SM4; SM5, SM6 and SM8. Bought a new 46.10PW F grind and a 60.10 D grind in the brushed chrome. Compared to the previous SM8, this wedge looks a thousand times nicer. I despised the looks of the SM8, but they’ve really cleaned it up. It’s also a fantastic feeling wedge, forged feel out of a cast club. Performance with PW and partial chip/pitch shots with 60.10 is the best Out if all previous models, in my opinion. I’ve easily played 45 rounds with these new wedges and to my pleasant surprise, the grooves still look literally brand new. One knock on previous Vokey wedges was the fact that the consumer would pay $120, even more, for a wedge that needs to be replaced the following season due to groove wear. ... MoreBeen playing the SM wedges for years. Horrible customer service- don't buy. They won't return brand new wedges that are not customized. Their policy is totally misleadingIf your Wedge Order is customized to your unique specifications, or if you place a Wedge Order for a limited release product, no Wedge Order modifications or cancellations will be accepted once such Wedge Order has been accepted by Acushnet. Acushnet will not authorize the return of any such merchandise unless the reason for the return is due to company error. Merchandise to be returned to Acushnet for credit or exchange must be in “brand new” resalable condition. This was my 3rd Vokey SM9 and it does not disappoint. Maybe I practice my chipping more now because I have the right tools, but my chipping has never been better and I have so much more feel with these wedges than I ever did before. I have a 50°, 54°, and a 58° and they all have specific uses for me and they’re just great in their own ways. I highly recommend these wedges and although they are last year’s models, for the price they can’t be beat.

This is the most amazing club I have ever switched to as far as immediate effect. The bounce options are very clever which made an instant difference in my short game. Particularly when it comes to shot commitment. The inertia is definitely different, in a good way than, my old wedges, and my old wedges were amazing. This Vokey guy is the shizzle dizzle.
Listen, I don’t want to sound like a miserable person, but I have to call it as I see it here. Most of what I have to say is very positive as you’ll see. But I’m not going to sugarcoat it.Love golf. Love Titleist. Love Vokey wedges. Been buying Vokeys for over a decade now. I’ve owned several SM4, SM5, SM6 and SM8 wedges in that time. I will say, the looks of the SM9 is so much better than the previous versions. Thought the SM8 kinda looked cheap or something. I bought a 46.10* F grind and 60.12 D grind in the brushed chrome and they’re both lovely. Brushed chrome look is so much better than glossy chrome that scratches and whatnot. Huge gain in spin on chip/pitch shots and my full swing pitching wedge shots stop immediately upon landing. Feels as soft as an ol’ SM4 Oil Can that’s been stripped raw. Forged feel. I could not believe how much spin I was losing before I put these new wedges in the bag. My previous PW and LW were SM6’s and I had noticed a gradual degradation of spin over the years, and this season I couldn’t get any spin whatsoever with these two wedges. These SM9’s remedy that problem, but that’s where it leads me to the bummer…Now to the reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. So after that first round with them in the bag, when I went to clean my clubs, noticed the face milling on the lob and pitching wedges had already shown signs of moderate use, as there were portions of the fine millled lines between the grooves that were completely flattened by contact with the ball (I used a TP5X ball). Not huge marks by any means, but still. Pretty astonishing considering I took about 10 full swings with the PW and hit about 15-20 chip/pitch shots on the range and in my round combined. I don’t recall previous versions scuffing up on the face/sweet spot area so rapidly. Really makes me wonder if these wedge grooves are going to hold up any better than the previous SM’s. The price sure has gone up quite substantially over those last 10-12 years, and Titleist’s new face treatment pitch to increase durability is what reeled me in. Yes, Vokeys are the best wedges in my opinion when it comes to performance. But durability? I’m not so sure, mostly because Vokeys are all I’ve ever known in the wedge category. But still, there has to be a way to make these things more durable without sacrificing feel. I don’t make a tremendous amount of money, so I’m really hoping these can retain spin a little longer…The guys at Carl’s are extremely professional and helpful folks. My pitching wedge came bent and after dialing, I was on the phone with a rep in less than 45 seconds, and they overnighted a replacement for me. I thought that was pretty nice of them to do. I appreciate it, guys.
I bought the jet black to add a different ascetic to my bag. I didn't expect the black finish to last forever, but I was very surprised just how quickly the finish scratched and discoloured.Within a few shots around the green the face was scratched, and maybe five bunker shots and the leading edge and hozzle had no more black left, and this was just practicing, I havnt played a round with them yet. There is no doubt the Vokey is a great club but I definitely would not spend the extra money again for the jet black.Very disappointed with the finish, but still a great club.
SM9 46 -10 F wedge is a much better wedge than the 48 deg. that came with my t200 set. This club feels soft and delivers on full shots, half shots, chip shots. It’s extremely easy to work with an open face, closed face or off the fairway with a full swing. I can’t find anything I don’t like about this wedge. The same could be said about the other Vokey’s in my bag which are 50-08 F and 56-12 D. In the future I’d like to replace the 56 with a 54 and add a 58 degree wedge by taking the 60 out of my bag because I don’t use it much these days. Bottom line is this club is a must for knocking strokes off your score.
My wedge arrived with scratches/visible marks on the neck despite being the only item inside the box aside from 3 grips. There was no way it could have been scratched up in transit. It also arrived with a completely different shaft from what I specified. Instead of a dynamic gold shaft, it was a Titleist BV wedge flex shaft. I specifically ordered from TGW because they had the exact specs I needed, and now I’m extremely disappointed. I’m no longer in the country and there would be no way to return and replace this so I have no idea if they would even attempt to fix this mistake. This review will remain unchanged until I get a fix for this - be wary of purchases made from TGW, which supposedly was one of the more reliable online golf stores.
The weighting, performance, consistency, and most options of any wedge in the industry on loft, bounce, and grind make Titleist Vokey wedges hands-down the best wedges available. I've been fit for wedges several times and it always comes up Titleist Vokey. So, based on that, when my current 56-degree wore out, I was looking for a very specific combination of loft, bounce, grind, and shaft characteristics...and Dick's had it available on-line. In less than a week it was delivered and in the bag.
