This is my third Vokey wedge, it actually replaced a SM7 50 degree wedge. Titleist says this generation hits lower shots than previous generations. In my first month with this club I haven’t really noticed a lot of difference. It has excellent bite as all my titleist wedges do. As before the “50” always provides the best shot of the round most weeks.

I think the consistency of the playability of these wedges is why they are a fixture in my bag. They just feel good.

I played the 12 degree bounce 56 wedge and really like it. Nothing bad to say about it at all. Swing weight is just a matter of preference. Ordered them from PGA Store and re-gripped them for my large hands.

Bought the SM9 52 degree wedge a couple of weeks ago. I already have the Vokey 56 and 60 degree wedges. Needed to fill in the gap between my 56 degree wedge and my 49 degree Gap wedge. This club gives you so much confidence either with a full swing or closer to the green. The touch and feel it provides makes golfing fun!

Received 2 brand new wedges that had ball marks on both and a chip on one .Send pictures of both and approved to replace both. Received fed ex label but unable to print. Replied back to TGW and still have not heard back . I needed the wedges for a recent tourn so I kept the damaged wedges. Very disappointed that these were repackaged and shipped.Defects were easy to spot. Also , no follow up on the fed ex question
Listen, I don’t want to sound like a miserable person, but I have to call it as I see it here. Most of what I have to say is very positive as you’ll see. But I’m not going to sugarcoat it.Love golf. Love Titleist. Love Vokey wedges. Been buying Vokeys for over a decade now. I’ve owned several SM4, SM5, SM6 and SM8 wedges in that time. I will say, the looks of the SM9 is so much better than the previous versions. Thought the SM8 kinda looked cheap or something. I bought a 46.10* F grind and 60.12 D grind in the brushed chrome and they’re both lovely. Brushed chrome look is so much better than glossy chrome that scratches and whatnot. Huge gain in spin on chip/pitch shots and my full swing pitching wedge shots stop immediately upon landing. I could not believe how much spin I was losing before I put these new wedges in the bag. My previous PW and LW were SM6’s and I had noticed a gradual degradation of spin over the years, and this season I couldn’t get any spin whatsoever with these two wedges. These SM9’s remedy that problem, but that’s where it leads me to the bummer…Now to the reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. So after that first round with them in the bag, when I went to clean my clubs, noticed the face milling on the lob and pitching wedges had already shown signs of moderate use, as there were portions of the fine millled lines between the grooves that were completely flattened by contact with the ball (I used a TP5X ball). Not huge marks by any means, but still. Pretty astonishing considering I took about 10 full swings with the PW and hit about 15-20 chip/pitch shots on the range and in my round combined. I don’t recall previous versions scuffing up on the face/sweet spot area so rapidly. Really makes me wonder if these wedge grooves are going to hold up any better than the previous SM’s. The price sure has gone up quite substantially over those last 10-12 years, and Titleist’s new face treatment pitch to increase durability is what reeled me in. Yes, Vokeys are the best wedges in my opinion when it comes to performance. But durability? I’m not so sure, mostly because Vokeys are all I’ve ever known in the wedge category. But still, there has to be a way to make these things more durable without sacrificing feel. I don’t make a tremendous amount of money, so I’m really hoping these can retain spin a little longer…The guys at Carl’s are extremely professional and helpful folks. My pitching wedge came bent and after dialing, I was on the phone with a rep in less than 45 seconds, and they overnighted a replacement for me. I thought that was pretty nice of them to do. I appreciate it, guys.
The product came in perfect brand-new condition. My item was shipped it within a very timely manner. For a separate order I was able to return a club with Carl's Golfland very smoothly which was very satisfactory.For the club the size and color were perfect. The black finish on this new pitching wedge is about to make me look a whole lot better than I am. haha
The 58 degree with 12 degrees of bounce with the versatile d grind has replaced both my 56 and 60 degree wedges leaving room for another club in the top of the bag. The d grind allows both squaring or opening of the club depending on the type of shot you want to play from a variety of lies & conditions. Beautiful clean look with a lovely weighted head. Definitely worth the premium price tag.
