The Tokina atx-m 23mm f1.4 is designed to be an ideal tool for amateur and semi-professional photographers to shoot street snaps, landscapes, and close-up photos with Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras. A special optical design formula together with two Low-Dispersion (SD) glass elements provides excellent optical performance and corrects aberrations. F1.4 fast, but light and small Mirrorless cameras are known for being compact and lightweight, and mirrorless lenses have to follow those same basic properties. Tokina has kept the atx-m series lenses small and light, while still using a metal lens mount and barrel to maintain build quality. Fast, silent autofocus The Tokina atx-m 23mm F1.4 incorporates an accurate, responsive AF system that fully communicates with the camera body. Quiet and fast focusing is realized by an STM focus motor. Superior close-up shooting abilities The Tokina atx-m 23mm F1.4 can focus on subjects from 0.3m. This specification allows photographers to easily shoot close-up photos, thus widely expanding the ways of utilization of this lens in different genres. Key Features: Extremely compact and lightweight - perfect combination with Sony mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. f/1.4 aperture for creamy and beautiful front and back bokeh and great light intake as a huge advantage in low-light shooting. Fast, but silent AF realized by ST-M focus motor. Fully communicable with the camera body to support 5-axis in-body image stabilization. Well-balanced color reproduction makes shooting with different Film Simulation modes more exciting. Click-less aperture ring to smoothly control aperture manually in video mode.

I had a choice between this and that other similar 23mm F1.4 so the Tokina was on sale and from what I have read it supposedly has better coatings and better internals since Tokina has some kind of agreement w/Fuji.After trying it out for a few shoots I can say that I like it. A lot.Pros: Built well. Lots of metal including the hood. Sharp, nice bokeh and looks good especially in the center @ 1.4. By 4 it sharpens up overall. It renders a little on the cool side w/my X-T3 but has a nice character wide open. Oh, and on sale here @ B&H it was the same price as that other similar 23mm F1.4Cons: Little heavier than what I'd hoped and a little distortion and some vignetting wide open but alas! There is a profile in Lightroom for that other similar 23mm F1.4 that ... MoreI had a choice between this and that other similar 23mm F1.4 so the Tokina was on sale and from what I have read it supposedly has better coatings and better internals since Tokina has some kind of agreement w/Fuji.After trying it out for a few shoots I can say that I like it. Awesome!

The optical performance of this lens is great, but it's nearly identical to the Viltrox version but at a higher cost. I don't really see any benefit to purchasing this one over the Viltrox so far. It was nice that Tokina offered the 52mm magnetic filter with it for free though.

I wrote a positive review about this product. The system did not capture the minor changes I made before I submitted. I am not inclined to write it again.
Used this lens with x-t4 for several months almost without changing. I liked the sharpness at an open aperture, slightly soft corners. Great alternative to more expensive fujifilm lenses.
