So despite my mixed feelings, I do believe it’s absolutely worth a try, especially if you lean towards scents with a rose top note, as the smallest bottle is fairly reasonable for a luxury brand. The packaging and bottle are both simply elegant — as one would expect from Tom Ford — crafted in a bronze-y chrome rose, and will look lovely on anyone’s vanity or bureau.

My personaI rating is a 3 out of 5, merely because it’s not a fragrance I would gravitate towards, and I did not like that it did not have the longevity I expected from Tom Ford fragrances. This is definitely worth trying or at least testing if you are a Tom Ford fragrance fan, as fragrances settle different with each person’s body chemistry differently, so just because I did not like it with mine doesn’t mean it wouldn’t smell divine on yours!

After all we are taught to be assertive but only if it doesn't upset anyone. To be confident but not conceited. To achieve but not *too* much. It's rare to find a feminine fragrance that is unapologetic. Cafe Rose is one of the rare few. When the first spray hit my skin the only word that appeared in the blue sky of my mind was the word "unapologetic". It appeared written on a banner being pulled by a small airplane being piloted by a laughing woman who loved herself as she was: with short eyelashes, wonky eyebrows, fat rolls, cellulite, short legs, rough feet, crooked teeth and all.

It’s sort of perplexing why they chose this name with the way it smells, but I enjoy it for what it is.TO LAYER OR NOT TO LAYER: I have worn this on it’s own as it is a complex enough fragrance that is not easily identifiable and quite unique. Layering this with sweeter fragrances add depth and playfulness, especially those with sweet notes of vanilla or rose.WHEN TO WEAR: This fragrance is great for the fall / winter season and for cooler evenings when the wind is brisk. I would not wear this on a hot sunny day as it may be cloying. This is more of a special occasion / date night fragrance rather than a daily fragrance although if you love this profile, I could see someone making it their signature scent for the season. I will wear it on occasion when I feel like being more mysterious and illusive.PERFORMANCE: As far as projection, this is not a beast mode fragrance, rather a close encounter fragrance and longevity was about 4 - 6 hours so if you plan to make this your scent of the day, I would definitely spray my clothes as clothes will hold the fragrance all day. All in all, it isn’t my favorite fragrance, but I will wear it on occasion alone or layered depending on my mood.FINAL THOUGHTS: Although I enjoyed this fragrance journey, I don’t feel the name suits this fragrance. This is NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY. Definitely try before you buy.

This perfume starts out with a heady blast of spice. It reminded me of the Aesop Marrakech fragrance, the older formulation not the new one. It’s a nice blend of spices, definitely can smell the cardamom, that is slightly dry, very rich and warm (this is where I am getting most of the coffee profile), but not too heavy. Once the initial spice blast subsides, the rose starts to really come through. This is a rose that has several layers. It feels romantic and also very wearable, I average 3 sprays when I apply and I could easily wear this to work without it projecting into other’s space, but still keeping a bit of an aura of cafe rose in my very close vicinity. Oh, and my teenage daughters both love this. I probably won’t restock when I run out, but I will keep wearing and enjoying the bottle I have!

I wanted a rose note perfume, this is my first purchase for myself of Tom Ford, I got my boyfriend the f****** fabulous and fell in love with the long lasting scent/ notes so I bought this one for myself because I’m a big fan of Tom Ford. This is what you’ll smell when you pass the woman wearing 3ct Diamond studs in her ears, the perfectly vintage leather biker jacket, her low slung, worn jeans tucked into her Isabel Marant boots and a cashmere fitted turtleneck sweater. She’s effortlessly cool and chic and her expensive hobo doesn’t have any logos on it because she doesn’t need to show off her wealth. She exudes confidence and she wears her signature scent everyday because it’s so amazing she doesn’t need to change it up. It’s part of who she is, and Cafe Rose is THAT signature scent.
