Its larger, brighter design makes it even easier than before to check your little one is resting at the correct temperature. A yellow glow suggests a comfortable temperature for children to sleep in, whilst a blue glow suggests it's too cold and a red glow suggests it's too high. The colours act as a handy tool so you know whether to cool or heat the room, to modify baby's clothing, to use a different tog Sleepbag or for non-sleepbag users to alter the level of beddingThe correct room temperature is vital for creating a safe sleeping environment for a baby. Health professionals recommend that the room that your baby sleeps in should be maintained at 1620C. The Groegg, the colour changing digital room thermometer, is another clever innovation to help promote safer sleep for babies. The patented Groegg 2 glows yellow if the room temperature is within 1620C. If the room temperature is outside this range, take action to cool or heat the room, or adjust the babys bedding or clothing.

I initially bought the TT star shaped room thermometer and while it was accurate it was a bit of a hassle to use for monitoring the room - constantly had to tap it to see the temperature. It got really frustrating. I think ill reserve it for the bath. This GroEgg beauty however is excellent!! I love how it changes colour according to temp (red if its too hot). Especially useful if youve woken overnight and you can just glance over and either rest reassured OR move to sort the temperature out. Ive used it to test all the rooms and am making adjustments before the baby comes! Love love love it!

The Gro Egg2 comes well packaged and with enough information on how to use it. I was hesitant to get this at first due to previous reviews from friends and online reviews that said that it was a "judgy egg" but I'm so glad I ignored them. You can adjust the light in four settings (bright, medium, low, off) which shows off a different colour depending on the temperature of the room. The light is currently on the setting off but I know it will prove a really easy way to gage what the temperature is in the room and then readjusting what clothing to put baby in for bedtime.Personally, I think this is a great product and can even be used as a night light as well if you're on a budget!I would recommend it and would say to anyone who is worried about the room ... MoreThe Gro Egg2 comes well packaged and with enough information on how to use it. This is small egg shaped thermometer which indicates the temperature by digital reading and the egg changing colour. The egg has 4 different colours, red indicating very hot room. I've used this several times, in bedroom and living room to get a better idea of what the room temperature is and coordinate my room ventilation, ie, fans. It's ideal for when my baby granddaughter sleeps over, and I feel confident that I can trust the egg to monitor room temperature, and therefore my granddaughter remains safe.

We use our Gro Egg every night - it’s a lovely night light - not too bright. We have had some concerns with the accuracy of the temp reading but it is helpful regardless for working out whether the temp in the room has suddenly dropped - the changing colours is a useful feature. It’s small and easy to move around although we found the power cable can be a bit loose - had to exchange our first one for this reason.
Bought this for reassurance for new baby clothing/bedding & has been ideal especially during recent heatwave. Easy to take away on visits/over night stays. Only downside I hadn't realised it is USB connection and doesn't have a plug in the pack. So you'll need to purchase separately or have access to USB socket in baby's room. Other than that I'm very happy & the changing colours are reassuring as a quick temperature check especially during the night.
Yes, it's not rechargeable. And yes, instruction says that. But you need USB socket and that's fack. I felt bit disappointed as well, but I decided to keep it. And I love it. Tones of light are dim enough not to wake a baby, but bright to see as well. Display with temperature is visible from distance. Also this egg is super silky in touch. Highly recommend
Fantastic product, not too bright and the colours are just perfect. Doesn’t disturb baby’s sleep either. Love the silicone feel. Easily transportable and goes with us everywhere. Definitely recommend and I plan ti buy for friends/family too - a must have!
A good night light and thermometer - you can even dim the light or turn it off, which is helpful as Tommie Tippee decided to make the brightest setting BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN. Sadly I didn’t realise on the first night that it could be changed… I had gotten up in the middle of the night, only to see a bright red/orange glow emanating from my child’s bedroom. At first I thought of diving for my phone as it looked like the room was on fire, but no smoke, so it couldn’t have been… Perhaps Vecna had opened a rift to the Upside Down in my child’s bedroom? Maybe my son had finally found the entrance to Mount Doom on his quest to destroy The One Teething Ring? Or maybe the room was now home to a grandstand filled with luminous Max Verstappen fans. I couldn’t be sure. I couldn’t be sure. I was, however, regretting the name we chose for our son, as in hindsight, the name “Icarus” would have been much more apt. As the rest of the house was dark, I was unable to locate my sunglasses, so I just had to go for it. Imagine my relief when I peered through the door and saw it was just the Gro Egg! I no longer have retinas, but I can live safely in the knowledge that there’s no fire, no gateway to another dimension, no lava, and no fluorescent F1-loving Dutchmen in my sons bedroom. I now make sure it’s on the dimmed setting.
We borrowed an original GroEgg and it was so useful we wanted to buy our own. The GroEgg2 is not as good. There is no plug adaptor included so you'll need one of those and the connection from the wire into the egg isn't secure so the slightest movement will mean the egg turns off. Wish we'd found a second hand original GroEgg to purchase instead.
Cable at the back does not connect well, the whole device turns off if you knock it/the cable moves at all, we have to have it shoved up against something to keep it still. This happened with the first one we bought so took it back to John Lewis to exchange it but the replacement also has this issue - they were helpful and no issues with JL here, just a very poor quality product and frustrated with how ridiculous the design is. The dimmer button is on the underneath of the egg which we can't use as we can't move it due to the cable issue or the whole thing turns off and the when you sort it all out again the light comes back on full brightness.
