Cool-toned contour

Asian beauty is really the only place to go for cool-toned contours these days. I had 03 Modern recommended to me and I don't regret buying it. Having the 3 cool-toned shades in the one pan is very helpful. Depending on the look I'm going for sometimes even the darkest shade is still a bit too light for my cheek contour (if blush is dark). But I like them a lot for inner-face contouring especially the eyes and nose.

Great colors, not very pigmented

I like this contour palette. I don't use the lightest shade, but I use the middle shade around my nose and on my jawline, and the darkest shade on my cheeks and hairline. Creates a very subtle contour with cool shades, so it actually looks like a shadow. The shades don't deposit super well, but it is buildable. Would repurchase.

Great for beginners

This is perfect for people who are new to contour, like me! It's definitely a buildable formula - don't buy this if you want something super pigmented and powerful, but do buy this if you want something you can build to create those subtle shadows without running the risk of overdoing it and looking silly. I love the brush it came with and I like using it for jaw and nose contour. I don't really find the lightest shade that useful, though. In my swatch I did a swatch of each shade and then the 3 mixed.

Great for light skin tones
20 April 2024

I have light warm-olive skin (about NC25), and this is a great contour for me - very neutral without being too grey. I usually swirl the two deeper shades together (the lightest is a face powder shade for me - and I do sometimes use it to blend out my eyeshadow). The powder is hard-pressed and definitely buildable - which I want in a contour anyway - and easy to blend, and seems to last well through the day. The brush is nice, too! My only qualm is the shade range. Anyone deeper than me will struggle to get enough impact (I could see it being a nice face powder for someone!). For me, though, this works well enough that I've hit pan in nine months.

It was hard to select, so I took Neutral.
17 June 2024

It's a legendary contouring product, so there's no need to talk much about its behaviour - it's not dusty, applies well on the brush and blends well. I have very fair skin with a yellow/olive undertone and it took me a long time to decide between shades. In the end I decided that warm/cool didn't really suit me. Luckily, there is also a Neutral shade and it actually blends really well with my skin. In the photos you can see how it behaves in artificial and natural light - I took the photos so that the colour looks as similar to reality as possible. As you can see, it appears quite yellow in the box, but on my yellow skin in white light it even looks a little warm.

Not for light medium olive skin
20 July 2024

I bought the shade modern after reading and watching reviews but I do not get the hype of this product. It was hard to pick up the product with a brush, and once the brush picked up anything it was ashy and gray. The color does not look good or natural on my light medium and neutral olive skin. I have slightly tanned East Asian skin tone and usually use shade 25 for kbeauty foundation. This contour probably works better for those with 23 and lighter skins or neutral and cool leaning.

Perfect daily contour
11 March 2024

the perfect cool tone contour. I originally bought the shade #01 but this one suits me much better. If you notice your nose contour always looks murky, I would recommend a cool tone shade like this to create clearer looking shadows. I also prefer this one over the ETUDE cool tone contour palette since it has much more pigment for a very similar shade, and has a mirror, though both are buildable.

Perfect for cool-toned people! (Modern palette)
17 October 2024

I've looked around for a true cool-toned bronzing palette that was ACTUALLY useful, and not straight-up gray; for now, this one's it. The design is beautiful, the packaging compact and solid (great for travel!), the colours work great alone and when swiped together. I have very fair skin and the result is very harmonious on me, a stark difference from more warm-toned products!

WOW JUST WOW
18 April 2023

I have never got on with contouring palettes particularly for my nose. It usually ends up looking orange and out of place. I bought the modern 02 palette Artclass by Rodin having seen an Asian Instagrammer recommend it. This is literally the first time I have been able to effortless contour my nose without the contour looking very obvious. The darkest shade is a perfect shadow grey/brown colour ideal for the side of the nose. This pallete is easily blendable and can be layered. It is not too dark so you don't need to rub it in. It is very forgiving to contouring amateurs. It can be used by directly applying on foundation. It instantly transformed my face. I used a nose contour brush from yesstyle.com which worked perfectly. LOVE AND ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THE MODERN ... MoreI have never got on with contouring palettes particularly for my nose. It usually ends up looking orange and out of place. you never realised you needed it until you use it
25 January 2024

as the title says, i never realised i needed this before i actually used it for the first time. this contour is very natural and creates shadows, it can be re-purposed for aegyosal, nose-counter, face-counter, anything you'd like of course, since the product is so natural. i am neutral toned, i believe that if you like harshes contour, that you go for their warmer range. otherwise, cool-tone is complimentary.
