The second version of the Topo Athletic MTN Racer gets a complete rebuild compared to its predecessor. With a redesigned breathable upper, a lighter three-piece Zip Foam midsole, and an external heel counter, the MTN Racer 2 has kept the best parts of the original MTN Racer but fixed the rest. The outsole of the Topo MTN Racer 2 features the same 6mm Vibram lugs, giving you plenty of grip in wet and slippery conditions. Topo's signature toe-box will give your feet plenty of room to splay and more surface area for getting a solid hold on technical terrain. The redesigned up features a more breathable mesh and that helps to keep your feet cool on longer runs, but also works to drain water should you run through a creek or snow-covered trails. The upper in the MTN Racer 2 also fixes another complaint from its predecessor: a more secure lockdown across the top of the foot without making your feet feel trapped. Topo also made some minor adjustments to the length of the MTN Racer 2, so it fits more true to size. A slightly narrower midfoot makes it more adaptable for a variety of foot sizes. Despite its name, the Topo MTN Racer 2 isn't just for running in the mountains. It is a versatile shoe that can handle any terrain and will become your new favorite trail runner.
