It took 4 days to arrive, much faster than I expected. I purchased E30 and L30 combo. Compared to previous all-in-one solutions I have used, such as Fulla Schiit and Furutech, the difference in clarity, detail and fullness of sound is extremely evident. I only listen to wav files 16 / 44.1 and flac 16-24 / 44.1-192. The DAC can go up to 32/768, so far beyond current standards, making it future-proof at least from this point of view for quite a while. Personally I think that with 24/48 there is already some surplus, since my ears are not able to perceive significant differences with higher definition files. Of course it's not all about the DAC or AMP, but having a good source is definitely the basis for everything else. The sound is transparent, and both treble and bass are clearly extended. The sound has the same tendency as the DAC E-30. From the audio-only HMDI of SONY UBP-X800M2, it is taken out as an optical signal by a separator and connected to the main body. The ESS DAC is confused about the frequency to be caught and the sound output is unstable, but the AK4497 plays it without any problem. The headphones are HD-650. Since the gain can be set to +10 dB, it is effective for high impedance and low efficiency headphones such as the HD650. The DC power plug has the same shape as the E-30. This is 15V, and that is 5V, so if you make a mistake, you're breaking the E-30. Caution is required. Recommended for high impedance

I purchased this Topping DAC to upgrade my headphone system, and considering that it also has the PRE output to drive my Edifier active speakers.Together with the Topping DAC E30 I also purchased the dedicated L30 amplifier- all black. In the package together with the DAC we find a convenient and useful remote control that allows us to use all the available functions, the two USB cables, one for the signal and the other for power supply. The E30 topping was connected with RCA cables to the L30 amplifier, the DAC is naturally connected via USB to the PC with dedicated drives (Topping), for listening I used my irreplaceable MusicBee player which draws liquid music (FLAC) from my NAS on the network. First off, I never mention the seller in my reviews because seldom do they pleasantly surprise me as Apos did. I preordered the Dac/Amp combo and being used to the long wait times at Drop.com or similar websites, I wasn't in any hurry to receive the product. After all, I had my Schiit stack to keep me occupied until then. Then I receive an email with an apology from Dyl informing me that the product will be delayed and that they will keep me up to date. No big deal as we are in a pandemic. Then they offered a $30 credit because of the inconvenience and wow that was nice. Honestly that's not the reason why I appreciate the gesture however. They constantly kept me up to date with the status of my order, and upgraded the shipping so that I will receive the product ... MoreFirst off, I never mention the seller in my reviews because seldom do they pleasantly surprise me as Apos did. No big deal as we are in a pandemic. Then they offered a $30 credit because of the inconvenience and wow that was nice. Honestly that's not the reason why I appreciate the gesture however. They constantly kept me up to date with the status of my order, and upgraded the shipping so that I will receive the product earlier, even if it was just by a day. Any time I had questions, they replied quickly and the response was personable, they cared about the fact that I must have a great customer experience. I felt as if "I the customer" was their priority and they will do everything they can to make my experience a great one. So thank you Apos for proving to me such companies still exist, those who value our time and trust as much as we do.Now the DAC/AMP. Previously I mentioned that I owned the Schiit stack, Magni 3 and Modi 3 to be precise, and I tested with my Sennheiser HD58x and Hifiman sundaras. The E30 has been out for some time now and we all know it to be a great performer through various reviews, but this was my first experience with the DAC. Paired with the L30 and comparing it to the Schiit stack, the E30/L30 combo is simply amazing! The amount of detail that I simply never picked up with the Magni/Modi. For example, I love listening to Hans Zimmer and his Pirates of the Caribbean track that he performed live in Prague, I began to hear this shuffling noise the first 5 seconds of the track and thought it might be static noise. So I kept replaying those 5 seconds until I realized, it was someone shuffling to que the rhythm. Like how can I be hearing that right now? It really does provide the tracks with a deep layer of textures that I previously never experienced before. The Magni/Modi made my favorite recordings sound better than they ever had, the Toppings made me FEEL how amazing they can sound when you dive deeper and deeper into the musical journey. It is $70 more than the Schiit stack, but trust me when I say that you are comparing different tiers at this point. The Magni/ Modi are amazing products and it shines the light for those new Audiophiles on what is possible as an entry level set up. The Toppings offer much of the same in value and higher performance. One small step for this man, one giant leap for Audiophiles.
After my Schiit Modi2 Uber had it's USB input fail I decided to see what I could find out about products available today. I have a Schiit Valhalla 2 amp with Sennheiser HD650s.I was initially disappointed when I saw that the device was shipping from China, but it arrived very quickly.Next, I noticed that it was packed well enough that I think it could have survived an air drop from the DHL airplane safely.Next, when finally opened, there was a note explaining their actions during Covid AND two alcohol swabs. I was beyond impressed. 100% recommended experience. As for the device, I followed the directions, tweaked FB2000 and was so happy with the results. Stevie Ray Vaughn was actually in my head....completely amazing. At its price point, I think the E30 is a superb value for a small form factor DAC. It is transparent, clean, and just sounds "right." I have several vintage DACs that were highly regarded in their day and sonically this betters them in many ways. Are there better DACS out there? Sure, but if you are looking for something less than $500, this deserves a place on your comparison list. I have been generally impressed with the value proposition of Topping's products. I would love to see a product from them with a few more inputs (maybe 2 coax, 2 optical) and some digital outs as well, but I'm extremely happy with this little E30. A+ product.
I was curious to give a Topping DAC a go after all of the hype surrounding their products and the measurements posted online. It is well made and has ton of features like a remote which is very welcome at this price point. The E30's performance is highly dependent on the power source it is provided, and ranges from gritty and mediocre sounding via a laptop USB port and improves to level of performance that is very respectable for the price when connected to a better, independent source of power. I think it has a very high resolution presentation for it's price point but lacks some punch and sparkle that is offered in spades by competitors near the price and has a lack of sound stage width and depth. It's a totally respectable entry level DAC that is feature rich and ... MoreI was curious to give a Topping DAC a go after all of the hype surrounding their products and the measurements posted online. Just the same it's totally recommendable in it's segment.
I had an issue with my left channel of my system seeming to fade in and out. The connections on the system were all analog RCA type patch cords. It was suggested to me by a engineer to get an external DAC, and use optical connections. The capabilities on the Topping E30 were also an upgrade from the internal DAC in my 300 CD Changer. The 10 band graphic equalizer was also showing it's age, so this was taken out of the system. The only RCA style patch cords were Monster cables between the power amp and preamp. All I can say is WOW. The bass is fuller and richer, along with the high frequencies being very precise. I don't have a sub-woofer, and with this DAC, it makes the Paradigm Prestige 95F's really perform. I saw the review of this on Audiosciencereview and, being in the market for a new DAC, thought I'd take a punt. Initially sceptical of Chinese electronics and all the stereotypes surrounding them, I have been amazed at the sound quality. Clean, clear, and lively sounding with excellent bass; I am very happy. When you factor in the price of ~135 you just can't beat it. Even better is that the Sofabatton universal remote I use supports Topping products already. So Topping isn't some shonky little company churning out garbage; they clearly have support across the wider industry. The display is a little old-skool with it's LCD amber illuminated blocky numbers, which is reminiscent of and older bedside alarm clock. But otherwise, it's small and unobtrusive. This unit has everything I could ask for in a DAC. And it sounds perfect for how its implemented into my system. And I love the remote. I am now a huge Topping fanboy. Not only that, but the unreal part is that this shipped from China on a Thursday and was at my house in the US the following Monday! Freaking mind totally blown. Fantastic job Apos! Truly fantastic.
