Mario Party is back with five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. Frosting meets flowers as you race to get the most stars (and sabotage your opponents) on the Peach's Birthday Cake board from the original Mario Party game. Or watch the countdown that unleashes Bowser Coin Beam and hold onto those coins on the Space Land board. The tides can turn quickly in Mario Party, so stay vigilant, partygoers. This and all other modes can be played online, too! - Try your hand at a Superstar collection of minigames from throughout the Mario Party series. Whether you are saving up coins for stars in board game mode or practising in free play, there is nothing quite like being the last one standing in Mushroom Mix-Up or Shy Guy Says. All minigames are played with button controls, so you can stick to the Joy-Con controller or bust out the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or a Nintendo Switch Lite. - Bring the party anytime, anywhere with same-system, local wireless, or online play. Matches with friends in board game mode save each turn, so feel free to take a break and pick up where you left off. Use stickers to praise or pester fellow players as you race across the board collecting stars. All modes support online multiplayer, so you can hop in with friends for a few minigames or a marathon 30-turn match. Victory is just as sweet (and stealing stars is just as satisfying) from anywhere across the globe.

It's just such a good game for... well, parties! Most of the minigames are good and require good skills, and the boards are very creative and different from one to another!Minor complaints:Only 5 boards (all old Mario Party games had at least 6, but at least it's better than having only 4 in Super Mario Party)Only up to 4 PlayersAnimations and cutscenes take too long, even if you skip them partially. But overall, aside from these minor complaints, this is a fantastic party game!

Buying it this way is a total scam when bought at the store. It is not clear you must keep your hard copy receipt (the digital one through targets app does not cut it). What a terrible waste of $60!!!!!!!! With no other recourse available. I’m just out $60 because I didn’t know to keep a hard receipt. This should be made extremely clear at the Target store and it was NOT. Target can’t reprint one. It’s a one time chance and gone. I’m livid.

Got Mario Party for my family to enjoy while I was still working over the road. Things changed and I was able to enjoy the game too. Even my 4 yr and 5 yr old at the time enjoyed the game once everything was explained to them. The controls were easy to navigate as an adult; and once the kiddos understood which controls to use, they no longer needed help, except for reading. This game had so many family oriented games and other challenging activities too. You can someone play up to 4 players; and don’t worry if there’s only 1 or 2. The game will choose the remaining CPU characters.

Original version of Switch Mario Party is best
9 February 2024

This game was fun!! However, we were expecting it to be like the first version of Mario Party for Switch. It’s definitely not nearly as cool, there are less extras, you can’t play the same partner/team boards… we have much more fun on the original game. I actually seem to end up playing this newer Superstars version myself just to make sense of the $60 price point.Definitely not as good. Fun, yes. I like other mario games much more. I got the 2 in 1 Mario world and bowsers fury. That was cheaper and way more fun!

Shocked at how fun and addicting!
2 January 2024

Bought for my 10 year old for Christmas not knowing what to expect. I wasn’t a Nintendo kid. More of PlayStation and Sega, so never played Mario unless it was at a friends house growing up. My daughter loves it. My 4 year old ended up loving to play this too and it’s easy enough for him to play. So much fun that the whole family (4 players) plays this often and for hours. I’m actually shocked at how fun and addicting it is. Tons of mini games. So many that there are some we haven’t even played yet. Definitely recommend!

Very enjoyable! Hours of fun for the whole family
8 February 2024

We really love the interchangeable amount of time you can chose to play the main event game. Game is up to four players. It has an option to practice the side games and gather coins through side games if the kids just enjoy playing those. Fun for the whole family or just the adults if free time is ever available. Only negative would be that there is only five boards available indefinitely. Some of them get a little repetitive %26 we tend to just play our favorites. We would love to be able to unlock other boards for different gameplay just as you unlock stickers, music, etc. overall we really enjoy this game and will continue to play. I have already recommended to others

The mini game choices are great. I like all of the ones that are available to play. The boards are fun and different! Being able to customize your own party card is also a nice touch. You can switch the music for the boards with the original music or remix that was made for the game in the options once you’ve already played the board once. Really nice feature for those people that like the classic music from many years ago! Online play is a plus. Stickers are a fun way to communicate with people online and just in general are fun all together! Even my 5 and 7 year old have fun with with me and others. 9/10 rating for me. Would be 10/10 if the game had a couple more characters. That’s it!

This game is what top 100 wanted to be. It’s so good! I have no complaints besides the lack of characters, but that could be fixed in the future as people have already found stuff in the games files that could lead to updates! Anyways now my actual review. The mini game choices are great. I like a lot of the ones that they put in. The boards are fun and Unique! Being able to customize your own party card is fun! [Rewarded Review] Mario Party Superstars: A great return to form!
4 December 2021

Very good return to form for Mario Party finally!!!I've been with the series since the start, and this game I feel is what the series has been needing for quite some time. A great celebration of the series as a whole (though the focus is more on the N64 titles, which I'm okay with), I think it really delivers what Top 100 failed to do: Give us a good proper Mario Party that celebrates the series. My personal opinions, there are some mini-games I do wish this game chose over the ones it did, but it has a solid line-up overall I feel. They did great with the boards, and even the ones I was meh about in their original incarnations, what they did to rebalance and fix those boards, they did an excellent job here. The people who worked on this I feel really gets the series. I do think 5 boards is a bit small (iirc, the first Mario Party had 8), so I hope to see more boards in DLC, but what they have are a lot of fun.The remastered music is great too. I love what they did with the boards, even giving nice remixes for the last 5 turns. I enjoy you can choose to listen to the original board tracks too once you beat a board. I also really love that they took their time to remaster every song from every mini-game chosen, unlike the Top 100.I'll even go as far to say that some of the few things I did enjoy in Super Mario Party, they brought back into this game, while leaving the stuff I found myself not liking, out. The pacing is SO much faster like the older titles, and you're not having to wait out so many unnecessary animations just to make the game longer. 10 turns should not take an hour!I also really like that they rebalanced the items system so it's not completely broken like in Super. It feels much more balanced and it's nice to see stars at 20 coins again, and Golden Pipes not being super busted. While there's still a couple of games in this series I do prefer, I definitely think this is a top Mario Party and the best this series has had to offer for a long time. If you're a fan of the series, I highly recommend picking it up, I really do think there's something in here for every fan, both old and new.

[Rewarded Review] What Mario Party: The Top 100 should have been
20 November 2021

Mario Party: Superstars is what Mario Party: The Top 100 should have been. It had 100 minigames spanning the 10 mainline games, and every game like it belongs. It's fun to say "I remember this minigame," and it's just as fun to say "Oh, I almost forgot about that minigame." All 6 boards span across the 3 Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. Sometimes it can be a jarring difference to go from a Mario Party 1 board to a Mario Party 2 board to a Mario Party 3 board, but Mario Party: Superstars somehow makes it work. This game really rides on the nostalgia. The opening sequence and the hub world menu points back to the opening and hub world of the first Mario Party. Since it's kind of hard to make a story mode out a compilation game, Mario Party: Superstars gives single player achievements to do. Some require achieving specific goals in specific boards, other require gamers to reach a huge accomplishment within a single party, yet other require the player to rack up a career high over several playthroughs. It provides its own fun to see if you get the achievement over winning the party, and it's even more fun to see if you can get the achievement, and then come back from behind to become the superstar. My biggest complaint is the lack of motion control games. When Mario Party introduced motion control minigames in Mario Party 8, I never felt like the motions controls were forced. They could have worked in Mario Party: Super Stars. Just like with Super Mario Party, a grand total of 6 boards feels underwhelming for a greatest hits Mario Party game. I would have like to see 9 boards: 3 from each of the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. Overall, this may be my favorite Mario Party because it just may be the best Mario Party game. Also, fun fact: your cat may be interested in the vine swinging minigame!
