The Archer C50 had good overall reviews so I gave it a try. Had a problem on the initial setup. Contacted tech support and they said to push the reset button for 10 seconds. This worked and setup was easy. So my suggestion is to power up the unit and then hit the reset button. The router has dual bands: 2.4 g and 5.0 g. Newer electronic device can use the 5.0 g. The router has an on/of button which I use often. My older router did not and was constantly on. I think turning the router off when not in use for long period of time helps in the life and reliability of the router. Easiest router setup I've ever had. Even has a power button so I don't have to unplug it and plug it back in! (I've lost power cords behind my entertainment center before.) I logged into it to change SSID and passcode, and it immediately asked me to create a password for the router. No Googling the default settings for that brand and model. I paid for faster shipping, and got it ever earlier than the earliest projected date! Great product and great service.

This router supports both the 2.4 GHz band (802.11a/b/g/n) and the 5.8 GHz band (802.11ac), for a combined throughput in the gigabit range. When using the 5.8 GHz band it is especially noticeable as the pages appear to load instantly instead of incrementally. Since it is not on the "bleeding edge" it is priced accordingly, yet it is quite sufficient for most homes. If extra ranges are required, or to fill dead spots, then there are several dual-band range extenders available that are compatible. The price/performance ratio of this is great. Highly recommended.

Great deal on this great router. I needed it to set up a 3 router set of access points around my home. This did perfectly, although I did have some trouble setting it up in access point mode. There are manual instructions to do it online.
I bought this router to replace the Sagemcom from Spectrum. At the beginning, I simply removed the old router and connected this one with the modem which was always power on. It could not recognize the IP. No matter what type of setting I changed, it just won’t be able to connect to Internet. I got mad and wanted to return it. The next day, I decided to give it the last try. Then I turn off the modern, connected this router with the modem, turn on the router first and wait 1 minute, then turn on the modem. Wooooo! Done! So if you have the same problem as I have, please make sure you turn off the modem and turn on the router first! Solid product! Compare with been charged &10 each month by spectrum, this is the one you should have!

At the time of writing, this access point is only $30, meaning that for less than the cost of one mid-to-high end router or any number of mesh systems, one can cover a house with three of these, providing solid connections for everyone. If your home situation is similar, consider access point quantity as a replacement for access point quality, which this product can provide easily.
My little home network was being choked by a 10 year old Zyxel router that just couldn't handle the speeds we needed for streaming nowadays. We finally settled on this very inexpensive solution and boy, am I glad we did! This is a great little router for a small home or office. It has multiple LAN ports for wired connections and an on/off switch if you have to reset it, but I haven't had to reset it once since I got it three months ago. The build quality feels a little on the cheap side compared to much more expensive routers with the same technology, but it doesn't put out to much heat and seems to function flawlessly. There's no reason to spend more on this technology. Upgrade your router with confidence. This little baby rocks!
I got this over a year ago for friends who needed a new wireless router in their two story 2,500 sq ft house. With three teenagers at home they give it a pretty good workout. I provide all of their network tech support, and for the past year, it's been rock solid... I haven't heard a word about any problems. I'm impressed. There are faster routers, but they're not really much an advantage unless you're doing huge internal network data transfers. Most people are getting at least 99.9% of their data from the Internet, so spending a ton of $ for a wireless router that's a 100 times faster than their Internet bandwidth speed just doesn't make a lot of sense.
It seems as if every router on the market requires multiple steps, apps, and giving away more information than needed. This router allows you to simply plug it in and basically enter the password. Done deal! Everything should be this simple.
Update: I was away, we had a severe thunderstorm in the area, power was out. I monitor my house remotely and thought unless I was physically there, everything would be off. The TP-Link went back online, the Netgear didn't even respond. All the cameras, Z-wave house controls went back on with the TP-Link. I never had such luck with the previous Netgear. I strongly recommend this inexpensive and work great router. It is a bit early for rating since I tested only for 1 day. I may come back and give 1 star if it is dead after 1 week. However, for the time being, if you are looking for basic, low-price (the emphasis is low-price), this one is hard to beat. There are two features that aren't great, but one shouldn't complain for this price: 1- it is not very responsive to admin access. oo many times it gives a page to tp-link website because the http server part doesn't work. A bit frustrating that one has to turn on, off, or reset. Also, it doesn't allow more than 1 admin log in at a times. The problem is that it doesn't detect the admin log in is broken, hence should allow open another log in to reboot. 2- It doesn't have DHCP list for wired connection. This is a real problem for me as I use both wifi and Ethernet. I have to use other network software to find out the IP's of wired devices. Other than those two, for a minimum typical user, this one is perhaps as good as any in terms of bang for the buck. I purchased it only as a backup and an aggregate access point, but it impresses me enough to let it be the main wifi router and relegate the other router to be the access point. One last thing about speed: I tested it side-by-side with a Netgear and a Linksys. As the other two are older models (1 year or more), I expected TP-link to be better with the newer 450 Mbs protocol. It is indeed proven better from 20% to 35% depending on location of my laptop within the house. So, again, it is a decent one.
