Needed it as a VDSL router with Slingshot. Had to look up instructions on how to setup the VLAN 10 on the connection (Google it). Once setup, working fine. Didn't use the other features like the wireless on it though (have a separate AP for that instead) so can't review that.

Purchased this router for home connecting often more than 4+ devices at a time and the coverage area in my house is now awesome and the speed of my fibre has jumped up - such a good price and easy to set up :) Have been using for 2 weeks now and is going so well. Looks a little more conspicuous with it's antenna's and being black but it's compact and the performance makes up for looks ;)

This was purchased as an upgrade to the āfreeā modem that came with out internet provider.Installation was an easy step by step process. We seen an Instant increase in our wifi speeds straight away. It handles running our PS4 (via cat cable) and Xbox one (via wifi) fine.Only down side is the wifi has dropped out on the odd occasion (but much better than the other modem)I would recommend this for anyone who wants an upgrade from the nasty free modems. Iām happy with this purchase.

Had an immense amount of trouble setting the router up to connect with my ISP (Slingshot).PBT and Slingshot tech support were both very helpful but neithers advice managed to get the router to connect. They did give me a basic understanding of what the issue might have been. I ended up turning a protocol on that both PBT and Slingshot tech support had said should be turned off, this immediately got it working.I'm no networking engineer but I do know my way around tech, this was at the extreme limits of my ability to troubleshoot. On that note, I wouldn't recommend this product unless you also have some experience with tech troubleshooting for the initial set up.Once working I can't fault the product. It's much faster than the stock router, doesn't seem to ...Ā MoreHad an immense amount of trouble setting the router up to connect with my ISP (Slingshot).PBT and Slingshot tech support were both very helpful but neithers advice managed to get the router to connect. They did give me a basic understanding of what the issue might have been. Bought this router to replace the aging router supplied by my ISP. I have two PCs which I connect to the LAN ports, two laptops on wifi and 7 devices also on wifi. No problem with speed. Easy to set up. If you are on fiber, just choose New Zealand fiber during set up and you are good to go.
Performance:Excellent performance though do remember to take your walls into account for wifiBest Feature:2.4G wifi is quicker than your average 2.4G wifi routers. This works great as a relay router and works great with CAT6 cables. Has some trouble with multiple concrete walls with steel inserts but it is best paired with a TP Link wifi mesh. Works very well with minimal speed loss.
I had a linksys router before this and it continued to lose connectivity and continued to have issues. I did several reviews and purchased the TP-Link as I had never heard of it before. Let me tell you this was simple to setup and I love that I can have dual bands, 2.4ghz and 5ghz simultaneously, as well as dual bands on a guest network as well. Multiple devices can be connected at once with no lag in speed even while multiple devices are in use and connected. I would highly recommend, and have even told me parents to get this router and use as a repeater around their home so they can have high speed in every room.
Very good value for money router. I have been using it for 2 weeks already, and the router is rock solid: no restarts, no connection drops. We are two people working from home with constant video meetings, plus we have close to 10 devices hooked on the router most of the time (work laptops, personal laptops, phones, tablets, chromecast, etc.) and the router seemed not to be bothered at all by it.The network coverage is solid, although it drops quite fast with the distance and walls between the router and the device. Anyhow, for the given price range I must say I cannot ask anything more from the router. Some figures: I have a 100/100 Mbps connection. In the same room wit the router I am measuring around 95/95 Mbps which is acceptable. In my office, which is a ...Ā MoreVery good value for money router. In my office, which is a complete hallway away (and 3 walls between my computer and the router) I am constantly measuring 80 Mbps (down/up), which is more than acceptable in my book.Overall, does not get much better for 490SEK, thus the 5* rating despite the certain shortcomings pointed above.
I had an easy time setting up the router, replacing a stand in model. The most difficult task was removing the protective plastic wrap from the three antennas. I presently dont have any 802.11ac equipment, but the .n and .g wireless seems to work fine. The only Wi-fi issue appeared the day after the installation, when one PC said it had network connection, but no Internet. I disconnected and then reconnected the wireless connection in the Windows Networking settings, and this PC has been connected ever since (well, I only installed the router one week ago). The wired Ethernet performance seems plenty fast. I tried some large file copies from my NAS to a local SSD, and the resource manager displayed 80%, with a few peaks near 95%.I noticed the LEDs can be turned ...Ā MoreI had an easy time setting up the router, replacing a stand in model. I would like them to be a bit brighter because they are hard to see in high ambient light conditions. They also dont flash with data activity - they are just on if there is a device attached, or when Wi-fi is turned on.The 2 year warranty was a factor in choosing this model - hopefully I wont be needing it.
This is the second TP-Link router we have gone through in the past 15 months. The first was the 1700 model which I purchased from somewhere else which lasted less than six months before it just stopped working. I had a gift card for B&H so I purchased the c1200 model April of 2017. It was easy to set up and worked great for 11 months. The last few days I noticed it was slowing down. I went to reboot it last night and it wouldn't come back on. I rebooted it two more times and finally got it to respond. I did a firmware update and it worked for about 12 hours. Earlier today it stopped again. I have tried rebooting it and hitting the reset, but still not working. After hitting the reset it does turn back on and some of the lights light up on the front, but it still ...Ā MoreThis is the second TP-Link router we have gone through in the past 15 months. After hitting the reset it does turn back on and some of the lights light up on the front, but it still will not broadcast a wifi signal. When they work, they work great, but they should last longer than a year. This one shows to have a "limited two year warranty" through the manufacturer, so I will contact them and see about getting it replaced.
