Mesh setup with existing TP link router was seamless. You might have to set a specific channel as some here suggested. Strong signal to extend coverage to the bedrooms. Extended 5Ghz signal was good but not so much for 2.4Ghz but understandably that the latter does not hold speed well over distance.

About 1/4 repeated speed, unstable.

I got better performance connecting wirelessly to the router from 20 metres away than I did connecting to the repeater at half that distance.Just rubbish. Even a powerline adapter would be better.

Definitely don't recommend!

I have this extender plugged in one room away, with almost direct view of my wireless router. It constantly shows the wifi signal is weak and the led is red! Move it closer it will be in the same room. Explain to me what is the purpose then?

Not as good a range as my old TP-Link RE650 v1

I swapped out an old router (Nighthawk) and RE650 from the same loactions and this device could not pull in a signal from the router. It needed to be about 3 metres closer and placed higher up to pick up a signal. Both items were in line of sight through 2 glass windows so I expected them to work.It's currently sitting on my desk unplugged until I can find a suitable location to plug it in, but most "suitable" places don't have a mains socket and I didn't want to leave the trailing extension lead to the places it would work.Time for a re-think I think.

Powerful extender with simple setup

Pretty powerful range extender, it manages to get a signal into a room I dub the faraday cage, a signal dead spot where seemingly nothing could get through.After upgrading from an older TP-Link extender the difference is pretty remarkable, plus the ability to run a cable from the extender itself using the ethernet port to create a wired network is also a bonus, handy if you want to hardwire a console (or add a switch if you require more ethernet ports)Another handy feature is that the app (which requires you to sign up) does help in picking where the best place to put the extender is and also makes the rest of the setup pretty straight forward even if you have fairly limited networking knowledge.All in all a pretty good extender.

Solved network stability issue

The connection between my room and the router installed on the other side of the apartment resulted in an unstable Internet connection. This device solved the stability issue, however, the internet speed decreased by around 20%. This is no issue for me since I care more about stability rather than speed (speed went down from ~500 Mbit/s to 400 Mbit/s).

TP-Link RE605X

Pretty easy to install in a day can be completely figured out. There is an important point at the place of installation. It is better not to put it under the ceiling, as the signal becomes not strong enough.
