I do not understand why this model is so much more expensive than other comparable TP-Link Deco models, the only difference is the physical mounting options.Mounting. The main reason I was looking at this, was the mounting options. I wanted to wall mount into my existing ethernet ports and use PoE to avoid the mess of extra cables. The Deco works great at this, except that it does not cover up the gang box! This is a complete design failure! See the pictures. Nothing that connects to a gain box should show it or have gaps. Who wants to use a light switch or an outlet without a faceplate. The Deco is the faceplate and should completely cover it. My workaround was to add a decora faceplace, and then attach the Deco on top of that. It works, but it makes everything stick out even more. That's minus -2 stars for me.Another downside is the Deco makes you link the hardware to their cloud service and manage it through that. The privacy policy is unclear on what they're collecting on the Deco themselves vs what they collect when you use their website. Feels very spy-ware-ish. To be clear, this isn't there HomeCare "service". You need a TP-Link cloud account to use the Deco. Just do a search for - deco spyware. Minus -1 star. Most of the management of the devices is through the Deco mobile device app - hence the need for a cloud account. Limited management is done connecting directly to the device. Again seems like a poor design choice.

So, my point of reference is Google's mesh network. Terrible speeds, the absolute worst support bar none, and their solution to everything is to factory reset the network - enormous pain.Plug and play with the Deco - and that's also compared to Google, which boasts ease of use. You setup the main router, don't have to scan anything, just gets discovered, and same with the points/pucks/repeaters/whatever you want to call them.Easy peazy. And the speed is nearly 10 times Google mesh (I pay for 600, get nearly 700 hardline, saw 40-50 with Google, getting nearly 500 consistently with Deco and I've clocked 690 probably with only a few devices connected).I did have to contact support for a port forwarding issue, but legitimately talked to a human and they solved it in ... So Google won - I gave up and just get to eat the $250 for their paperweights. I have higher hopes for the Deco and so far it's savvy. My only gripe is that you can't reserve an IP and **then** port forward. When port forwarding, it will assign a static IP, which overwrites any IP you've assigned.Small gripe and I made the changes - that's what support walked me through.Orbi stops supporting their hardware near immediately and you have to pay for support, Google customer support is an actual oxymoron, and after learning the hard way way Ring & Blink are bad news I opted against Eeros.Good to go for now.

I had order this to put in my shop. But it doesn’t work anywhere near as good as the XE75pro I had out there. It does work good enough. I think most of the problem is it has to connect wirelessly back to the main router instead of connecting it to another one that is closer. The heat and humidity as well as dirtier conditions were my concerns for leaving the XE75pro out there. As it is more of an outdoors environment. This fit that bill much better.I have tried to move it around the shop to see if it improves but about 10% of my rated internet speed of 500mbs is about the best it can do out there. I was close to 60% with the XE75pro. This is through a brick wall, a block wall, and both buildings have metal roofs, and are 100 feet apart. So it is a demanding need ... I was close to 60% with the XE75pro. This is through a brick wall, a block wall, and both buildings have metal roofs, and are 100 feet apart. So it is a demanding need for signal, but the XE75pro had no problems. I believe the higher frequency backhaul channel had helped here. As well as the ability to connect to a closer router instead of the main one. A software update could improve this, at least the connection preference option the XE has. But I would like to see an outdoor model with the extra frequency I believe it would help sending signal over larger properties as well.I worked at a 10 acre winery and brewery, we had a large outdoor courtyard/beer garden. We always had Wi-Fi issues with our hand held terminals. I believe this would be a good solution. But it would need the “Connection Preference” option that the XE75pro has.

We had the Telstra Gen 3 WiFi 6 system with 2 boosters and we had dropouts and buffering at all hours of the day and night. The last straw was when I couldn't even watch 5 minutes of a movie without it buffering 4 times. The next day we purchased the TP Link AX3000 mesh sysytem and we haven't looked back. It was so simple to install - download the app, follow the steps and plug in and we were off and running. The only downside was having to reconnect ALL of our devices, lights, appliances etc. You don't realise just how many rely on your internet connection until you do something like this. The best thing is that I can now see all of our connected items through the app. I can't beleive that I wasted so much time on the phone and online to Telstra's technicians ... I've had my eye on a Deco wifi mesh system for a while and finally decided to go for it recently. It was incredibly easy to set up - so much so that when I was finished, I was almost disappointed. "That's it? I don't have to curse & throw things? Wow. OK!" There are so many things I love about this Deco, one of which is that I can look at the app on my phone and see at a glance exactly what devices are connected to the internet at any given moment. Great for keeping tabs on the kid who is actually streaming a movie on his phone when he was supposed to be in bed over an hour ago. I also love that there are Parental Controls I can set up to put an end to those late night shenanigans (which I'll probably have to do soon). But best of all is how much it's improved our ... I also love that there are Parental Controls I can set up to put an end to those late night shenanigans (which I'll probably have to do soon). But best of all is how much it's improved our internet speed. We live in Florida and have a really lousy internet provider. Unfortunately, they're the only game in town so we limp along with subpar speed and constant dropped connections. They say we should be getting 20 Mbps but usually when I do a speed test, we're getting about 12. It's seriously horrible. But since I hooked up the Deco, the speed is so much better. I've run speed tests several times since I installed the Deco and haven't had anything less than 20 - we're averaging about 24 Mbps, which is a major improvement, believe me. (I'm attaching a screenshot of the results of the test I just ran) I'm impressed and highly recommend the Deco AX3000.
We had a decent router but when we moved into a bigger house, the wifi connections were not that great. We tried using wifi extenders, but the signals were still pretty slow. So I decided to look into "mesh" systems and found this TPLink system which got good reviews so I took a chance, knowing that there were free returns on it in case it didn't help with our wifi speeds and signal. The system was easy to set up and afterwards I did a speedtest on my tablet in various areas of the house, including the front and back yards, and the speeds were impressive. ROKU channels load up quickly too. It's only been an hour or so since I set up the TPLink mesh system, but I'm very pleased so far. Review for Deco X60 2 pack . I had some skepticism after reading through some of the negative reviews. For me the setup was as easy as it could be and all the devices were able to connect to the network without issues. The coverage is significantly better in the mesh than on single router config. Have a 500M fios and on wifi it pulls 450+ consistently all throughout the home , with no dead spots or low wifi anymore. Like the Homecare feature with parental controls that gives app and website level controls and options to set internet times for kid’s devices. In case you are unfamiliar with mesh Wi-Fi, a quick explanation: a traditional Wi-Fi router broadcasts its Wi-Fi signal to the area it can cover. Its range is limited, so if you have a large house or an unusual layout, you will encounter dead zones, areas where you have weak or non-existent Wi-Fi. The traditional Wi-Fi router has one access point (the router itself) to broadcast Wi-Fi (unless you use an extender.)A mesh system is different: mesh Wi-Fi networks have multiple access points. My deco package has three units/access points. One acts as a router and connects to my modem. This next part is where the "mesh" comes in: the remaining two units connect to the first unit and communicate with it and each other, collectively acting as a single Wi-Fi network, with ... The traditional Wi-Fi router has one access point (the router itself) to broadcast Wi-Fi (unless you use an extender.)A mesh system is different: mesh Wi-Fi networks have multiple access points. My deco package has three units/access points. One acts as a router and connects to my modem. This next part is where the "mesh" comes in: the remaining two units connect to the first unit and communicate with it and each other, collectively acting as a single Wi-Fi network, with each unit broadcasting its own Wi-Fi signal. So you effectively have multiple sources of Wi-Fi around your house rather than the traditional single Wi-Fi router.I live in a two-story house with a layout that challenges an effective Wi-Fi signal from being broadcast everywhere I need it, from downstairs to bedrooms that are further away from my traditional router. With this system, I now have strong Wi-Fi everywhere I need it because I can simply extend the mesh to where I need coverage with the remaining two units.Set up was actually far easier than the TP-link traditional Wi-Fi router this unit replaced. The app was fantastic, and was able to easily set up and name the new Wi-Fi network, and choose a new password. I used the same password as the old system so all my family had to do was select the new uniquely named Wi-Fi network and use the same password. Set up was more painless than I anticipated. Each unit also has its own ethernet ports so you can direct connect devices if desired.None of our phones, tablets, laptops, or smart TV's use the latest Wi-Fi protocols but backward compatibility was not a problem. This system is a bit pricey depending on the number of units you need, so I wouldn't make the plunge if your existing Wi-Fi coverage is adequate. But if you need more effective coverage, this system is really amazing, and offered from a brand I have long used and trusted. Hope this helps!
