Very good shopping experience. Good smilng polite staff and very good product. I now bave internet in my studio which is located in my garden. Extender placed in another outdoor shed and shows red with little signal, but this still extends the signal strong enough to get full high speed internet with no lag. Worth every penny. Would highly recommend. Good specification. Good value.Homeowner in Cambridgeshire.

Purchased this product for our home, we had good internet service except for the very far end of the house. Which really wasn’t a big deal for my wife and I, but the grandkid's are gamers and they wanted to play over the holidays. Couldn’t down load for squat. So I decided to make the purchase and it has improved everything. An amazing transformation. Our speeds on the television are even better no lag time. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking to make your internet better in your home.Set up was easy of course grandsons were here to assist but it is a breeze to plug and play.It tells you if it is a good place to setup and only takes few minutes to do.

Out of the box, this seemed like a great product. In fact, I was initially very pleased with the fast performance. But after a few months, I noticed it would disconnect from the internet and need to be unplugged/reset, once per week. Then it was daily. Then it was several times each day. Until finally it would work for about 5 minutes and then no longer maintain connection to the internet. The wifi signal was broadcasting strongly, just no connection to the net. After lots of troubleshooting and resetting/starting from scratch, I bought a Linksys which works fine within my network. Clearly this is a reliability issue and degradation of an internal component that makes this TPlink RE450 last only about a year. I may still pursue this replacement just on principle, but in terms of product review, this is not acceptable in my opinion. It should last for several years.

This is extremely easy to set up and use. My only complaint is it won't always switch off the extender back to the original router. It always will switch when I am closer to the original router. I have one distant room that comes in better on the original router, but it always stays on the extender. The only other downfall is it is much larger then other extenders I have seen. It is so big, it limited where I could plug it in. Otherwise, I LOVE it.
Pros: It didn't work via wps buttons and I had to use the app and was a wee bit concerned how that would go. Easy peazy, simple to use and led me through the process. Foolproof in my case! Has made a vast difference to the upstairs area with a huge boost for users.Cons: You can't fit another plug alongside in a double socket. Used an adaptor to get round this but make it slimmer and taller if you need the space inside for electronics, is my advice.
I had the Netgear AC1900 Range Extender for 9 months, and then it died. I tried to fix it for 2 days before I gave up and went and got this. Night and day, this setup was much, much faster and easier. The instructions were simple and easy to follow and didn't require me to have to try 3 methods. I connected to it on my computer and it took 2 minutes to get this fully set up, and the ethernet port worked immediately (unlike the Netgear, which was 3x the price and took almost an hour on initial setup and several unsuccessful hours to try to fix). This is 1/3 the price of the Netgear one I had and is easier to set up, faster, slimmer, and has a much better interface. It also has a 2 year warranty with 24/7 support. Basically, buy this and avoid Netgear like the plague they are.
Internet speed tests now consistently show poorer results when this device is plugged in. No idea why. Our son set this up for us. All the blue leds are on, as they apparently should be. The differences are not huge, but they are not in this units favour - plugged in they are around 10 for download and 7 for upload. Unplugged? 14/9. Both sets of figures are poor. We only began to notice over the later part of lockdown, so the amount of traffic may have something to do with it. The online manual is a horrifying mess, the exact and precise opposite of plug and play. Looking at it makes my heart sink. Even if you do set it up correctly, plainly it doesnt necessarily stay that way. Resoundingly NOT recommended. And I challenge all those who thought this was beneficial ... MoreInternet speed tests now consistently show poorer results when this device is plugged in. No idea why. Our son set this up for us. I don't leave a lot of reviews but I always read them, so I felt compelled to leave a review on this. There's mixed feedback and so far, I'm a fan. We have fiberoptic internet, but our house is old and the wifi does not reach the dining room very well because we have plaster walls. I just bought this and plugged it in, and it took a bit of trial and error to figure out the best spot to plug it in, but it's working like a CHARM so far. Literally, a speed test showed with my normal wifi download speed of 16.41 mbps, and upload of 13.64 mbps. Once I swapped to the extended wifi, we jumped to a whopping 178.28 download mbps, and 93.96 upload mbps. Time will tell if the device is finicky, but as far as first impressions go, this was an affordable solution to spotty wifi ... MoreI don't leave a lot of reviews but I always read them, so I felt compelled to leave a review on this. Needed internet access in an outbuilding which was in direct line of sight, through a brick wall, of the router but too far away for WiFi to reach (20m).Had spent days looking online at dual band and tri band, WiFi 5 and WiFi 6, which really confused me and the variations in price and reviews were bogging me down.Decided to just give this a try as it was on offer. It works!Initially placed (10m) halfway between the router and where I wanted the signal as instructed, the device lit up green suggesting good connectivity but it didn't give me the improved range I wanted so moved further away.At 16m away, still green, the coverage and speed was much improved but not good enough for high speed gaming. At 27m away, the signal was now red and it suggested I ... MoreNeeded internet access in an outbuilding which was in direct line of sight, through a brick wall, of the router but too far away for WiFi to reach (20m).Had spent days looking online at dual band and tri band, WiFi 5 and WiFi 6, which really confused me and the variations in price and reviews were bogging me down.Decided to just give this a try as it was on offer. At 27m away, the signal was now red and it suggested I should move it closer to the router, however the speed is now as good as it is in the house and perfect for gaming (and watching Netflix) through the extender at the same time! Our pc was connected through 2.4ghz and the Netflix through 5Ghz.As a bonus, I can also connect to WiFi, right down the garden another 15m further on from the extender which is 27m from the router!Technical stuff - I have WiFi-5, dual band (should say on your router whether it's 5 or 6, or disconnect and connect to your WiFi and if it says WAP-5 then it's WiFi 5, if you have the option of 2.4 and 5Ghz then you have dual band - if it doesn't show on your router, type 192.168.1.254 into the internet search bar and use the passcodes on the back of your router to log onto your router control centre and it should tell you under 'my devices'). I doubted whether the tri-band devices would work with my dual band router which is part of the reason I purchased this extender.I'd happily buy another at full price now and have recommended to family and friends.
The Wi-Fi extender works well. I now have internet all through the house and outside. Setup was a total PITA. I'm a 71 yr old retiree, not a 30-something techie. The suggested setup app was full of jargon, the enclosed printed directions were uselessly brief, and contained a statement to the effect that "We don't have telephone support because we don't want you sitting on hold for a long time". Seriously?? It took the better part of 2 hours for me to get it installed, mostly by trial and error.
