Thankyou, these fiber transceivers arrived super fast! :-) tp-link add enough packaging and foam that you could safely throw this off a 40 story building and it would survive.Working great. Thanks again!

I needed few SFP modules for myOpen SFP Slot media Converters for my project, and TP-link one did just fine. It has nice box and installation manual (not like you can mess it up anyways). 2 year warranty is greatly appreciated.

I used this fiber optic link to create a noise-resisting connection from my NAS music server and my streamer. It did seem to improve the sound quality although you can never really prove that. Regardless, it was an inexpensive tweak to my audio system.

Solid device. Performs well. Works with every SFP I tried. Allows you to use auto-negotiation or force speed and duplex. Unfortunately this converter seems to have been implemented as a two port switch and does not correctly propagate link state. In other words- you can plug in a cable to the RJ45 and your device will see the link as up even if the fiber connection is down (or missing entirely). That makes it useless for someone who wants to track interface state with HSRP/VRRP or who wants BGP to fail over as soon as the link drops instead of having to wait for the BGP timers to expire. As an alternative you should consider the TRENDnet TFC-1000MGA or TFC-1000MGB instead. Both of these devices correctly relay link state from copper to fiber and vice versa. This is cheap, runs very cool and has been absolutely stable. I run this between a modem and SFP+ switch at my peasant class US internet speeds, so I don't know how it handles approaching the 1Gbps capacity.
Use it to connect my Auralic ARIES G1 streamer with Internet, as WiFi is a bit slow, and Ethernet cable introduces a lot of static and noise. This device gave me fiber connection almost to the streamer, with only 3" shielded Ethernet patch cable connecting to streamer. It works flawlessly.
Using 2 of these as an Ethernet bridge to get my home LAN out to my detached garage, one on each end of a fiber line. Paired withTP-LINK TL-SM311LS Gigabit SFP module, Single-mode, MiniGBIC, LC interface, Up to 10km distance . Very happy! Box is rugged and compact. Gets fairly warm, but otherwise I have no complaints.
Works extremely well for the price, and extremely simple to use. Only downside is that the amount of heat this thing generates is almost dangerous...once it's been on for a few minutes, you need gloves to touch it. I would not place it next to anything flammable...had to go back and install separate rack fans to keep them from catching fire. If I were TP-link, I would put some R&D into solving that issue because it's hard to see how that can't cause problems over time.
Works perfectly, although I found a far better price elsewhere on a similar item for subsequent purchases. I use these as part of an "air gap" lightning protection scheme between my cable modem and router -- needed because Time-Warner's engineering can't be trusted.
