High res mode is obviously the best, and good only go down levels of you really need more space on the SD card for long term records. I've set record without sound and between 7am-6pm full recording, and only when it detects motion overnight. A rough estimate of 3 weeks before it loops and overrides data with the largest SD card. Connection to wifi was easy. I had a little terrible with the SD card format, but that worked when I finally realized to put it in and then turn on the power. Good resolution camera, and easy to set up. I picked this one because I could get all the features I needed without having a subscription. However, I've had it a few weeks now, and it is very sensitive when detecting motion and is easily set off by raindrops and insects, even when the sensitivity is set to low. The person detection is similarly sensitive, often detecting "people" at night when there are just shadows. This issue has been raised with TP-Link by many users, so here's hoping it improves with the next firmware release.

Excellent Quality at an Affordable Price

I installed this 7 days ago and from a "not so handy" man, I have to say it was easy.I have other TP-Link products (wi-fi extenders and bluetooth gear) which work brilliantly, so I was confident buying this camera.The connection to our wifi was seemless and seeing a crystal clear live image of our driveway on my iPad and iphone anywhere I go, is astounding.Recording on and playback from the micro USB (not included) is super easy and being able to adjust the motion detection zone and sensitivity on my ipad is very impressive.This is such a good product, I am considering buying one or two more (even though we don't really need them).CheersBrentonAdelaide

Not truly wireless

When selecting a camera I purchased this because it was advertised as wireless. To clarify this for others, "wireless" in this instance does not mean that it has no wires. There is a bundle of wires that hangs out the rear of this camera and it requires mains power to be connected. The other wire is the ethernet cable to connect to your modem. You can choose to use this cable OR run it by connecting to your wireless network. I returned this item because it was not what I wanted at all. I subsequently bought truly wireless cameras with long battery life.

Perfect for our needs!

Purchased one of these for my parents house to monitor for potential intruders and their general wellbeing. Installed this unit under the rear verandah covering 90% of their yard. Night and day coverage. Notifications can be somewhat annoying with high sensitivity to moving tree branches. Even turned down.The camera, however, was an easy install and works for me well with the Smartphone app. Happy with the purchase.

I have researched for a home security camera for a while. Mr Gadget buyer’s guide dated 21 February 2022 listed it as one of the best outdoor cam around. For this price compared to the more expensive brands, there are some hits and misses. It can be too sensitive or not at all so you have to fine tune the software to that sweet spot. However with no compulsory monthly subscriptions, easy downloads and clear 3MP resolution, there is nothing much I can complain about except that the cam is hard-wired. The pros is that I don’t have to worry about replacing the batteries. I intend to add another C310 and C210 to the system

My making it appear as a sd card port people are more likely to steal camera to keep footage.The subscription cost is high.I turned off notifications and set to 24/7 record. That way if there is an incident I can either scroll through any time of footage or select the times motion activated and view footage. For the price it is good.

Tapo C310 WIFI security camera.

Excellent camera with clear and sharp video. Two way audio is also very good. The phone app is adequate but nothing special. Installation is a breeze. You only need a 240V power point for the 9VDC plug-pack (included). This has a 2m cable with plug and I had to cut and extend the cable by 1.5m to get from the corner of the eaves to the power point inside the garage. Set-up to your wifi is easy and that’s all you need to do. It also has provision for direct wiring to a router or PC LAN if you prefer. Overall it does the job and is excellent value at the price.

Using for a week. Working great. Wifi connection reliable, not a single drop so far. Image quality very good. App is awesome it has so many features . Using the camera for 24hours recording and 128GB Sd Card saving all the actions for last seven days. It has only 3 meters of power cable and its just enough to install the camera outside and run cable through ceiling & plasterboard. Recommended to use Class10 Sd card I but used normal one and it working so far. But 24 hour recording not supported through Cloud Storage Option, It supports only Motion Detected Recordings.
