Was replacing dead SSD from 2019 laptop. Wasn't sure the old laptop could accept SSDs with just one notch so picked up the same form factor as the dead SSD. Looks like whether one notch or two, they are interchangeable but didn't want to risk it. Two notches seem to be what older SATA III form factors used. Didn't want to go lower market with PRC SSDs so went with Transcend which is made in Taiwan. Works great and price is midpoint between Chinese SSDs and WD/Samsung.
