This Blitzwing is fantastic. A nice modern update to the mould while keeping everything that made the G1 toy back in 1985 so awesome to begin with. Transformation while a tad confusing in areas is fun and worth it when you get to see all 3 modes it turns into. Box/item itself arrived totally flawless and is a nice addition to my collection as Blitzwing/Astrotrain were my favorte of the triple changers from the get go.

My friends, we all know that a jet with tank parts hanging from the bottom wouldn't fly and that a tank with half a jet cockpit sticking out front isn't tactically sound.But this isn't a figure of a Japanese tank or a Russian MiG. This is BLITZWING. Everything a Decepticon should be and everything you want in a figure.This fig is audacious, boldly cartoon accurate (watch Triple Takeover, I dare you), exceptionally well balanced and posable even with tank treads and tiny jet wings as a backpack.The solid paint job gives Blitzy tons of personality and reminds you that this is the guy who made a throne out of defeated Autobots and refused to go along with slimy Quintesson plans.A Decepticon among Decepticons.An action figure among action figures.

Overall:Legacy Blitzwing is a well-rounded ‘former with solid articulation, a library of accessories, and an iconically cool robot design, losing some points for decent, but clunky alt modes.Robot Mode:Colorways and paint application stand out! Once in, formation of the leg was rock solid.Alt Mode(s):The tank/jet modes look formidable but don’t do the best job of hiding there opposite modes, such as the meme-ready nose cone in tank mode and the clearly visible tank on the underside of the plane.Packaging and Presentation:Artwork, as always, is excellent. HasTak is batting 1000, there. I am not a fan of the angular box design. While interesting, I believe it’s unnecessary and difficult to store. I like that Blitzwing is packed tank-mode which is the way transformers should be packed and presented for the first time, IMHO. I like that the accessories are secured without ties. This is great for access and storage. I don’t love how the figure itself is stored (via ties). As a whole, I would like to see the raw cardboard interior go away, or at least include additional design and tie-less securing for the sake of presentation. Ideally I would love to see something akin the Power Rangers Lightning Collection for packaging, which looks premium, secure, and spatially efficient. There is a lot of negative space with the Legacy packaging.Value:Blitzwing is a solid Legacy release of an iconic bad guy. He’s a hefty figure that comes packed with accessories. Recommended!

Decent figure but a great example of the downside of slavish accuracy to the original series. We all love the camp of 80s cartoon, but some of the goofier aspects need to be toned down. Optimus with an Energon Battle-axe is cool, but it comming out of his arm and replacing his fist is stupid. Give him a proper handle to hold and nobody will complain.Case in point, keeping the "nose" of the jetmode sticking out in tank mode is idiotic. Don't focus on the mistakes of the animation, focus on making the tank look "real" while still strongly resembling the animation model. At the very least, make the option to fold it away. That way a GEEWUNNER can leave it sticking out if they must and the rest of us can fold it away. Options are good.Anyway, the good. Colors are ... Not the greatest jet figure but we have seekers for that anyways.I dont quite understand the accessories...turrets that double as two-thumbed gauntlets? I just don't know where to begin with this guy! This figure is just amazing, the great level amount of detail along with the yellow, dark purple and the cream colour makes everything stand out. The transformations aren't too difficult and once you've done it you'll have fun switching from his 3 modes which is just amazing! I don't know how they made a triple changing robot look so clean but yet they did, and it's incredible! Overall just a great Blitzwing
Personally I think that the Titan's Return version is a better toy overall. The Plane mode looks horrible except from the top, tank mode is a little bit better but the plane cockpit is an eyesore. Robot mode is where this figure shines. Still the accessories in the box do NOT make up for the inflated price for what is a sub-par voyager with ugly useless accessories. I guess they can't all be winners. /:
Legacy Blitzwing is a standout figure that looks true to his G1 animation model near perfect robot mode and a fantastic tank mode. The jet mode has a lot of bulk under the wings, which detracts from the overall look of this mode, but there really isn't any place for the tank parts to go. A few additional hinges and joints in the transformation could have solved this. Despite the bulky jet mode, the transformation is fun and not overly complicated, as it has pieces that snap into place logically and intuitively. This is definitely the Blitzwing to have in your collection!
Robot mode is fantastic, spot on for the original 80s cartoon and you can get Blitzwing into great poses with both guns and sword.Tank mode looks great, though maybe a flap to cover the plane cockpit projection out the front of the tank would have been an improvement.Jet mode is chunky. Love the look of the plane but there is no disguising that it is chunky at the rear.Overall I think this is a great Blitzwing that captures the original so well.
