Absolute rubbish! I did a lot of prep including multiple wet sands, multiple DA polishing (their compound was rubbish so used other better compounds) and they came up gleaming. Once prepped I applied the clear coat and they looked brilliant. For a week. Now the clear coat has bubbled and cracked so it now has to be taken off and refinished. Absolutely rubbish

I was sceptical too how clear my headlight covers would be once applying headlight restoration kit. Once applied I was astounded by the results. My headlight covers went from cloudy to clear just like they were when the car was new. Brilliant product at a very affordable price.

This price has such a good effect, which surprised me! My lights had been treated badly, and my husband decided to replace them with a new pair of lights. However, before he took the car to change the lights, I bought some sandpaper sets and a Trojan Headlight Restoration Kit in Bunnings. First stick the edge of the headlamp with isolation paper, open the hood, and polish and clean the headlamp cover with water and sandpaper. Because my headlamp cover is seriously damaged, I also bought 360 mesh sandpaper to polish the previous residues, and then polish them in sequence according to 400-600-800-1200 mesh, adding water continuously throughout the whole process. As a lady for the first time, I feel the effect is good.

It works, but early days…
27 May 2023

Well, imagine my surprise! Bought on a whim cause broke and I kind of needed to see at night but headlights turned into soft mood lighting.Four shots of step one buffing compound, step two activator and wipe clean, and a wipe over of step 3 UV sealer did wonders. I will advise you to get a drill polisher if it’s just as bad or worse than mine as it was a good enough workout. Take your time and read the instructions thoroughly and follow them to a T and you’ll be happy as Larry.Only downside? The microfibre cloths work but have to wash them if you plan on doing more than one cars worth.

Overall value for money and it works
1 September 2022

Bought this the other day and worked on my 10yr old car headlight covers, which was showing signs of aging and yellowing. It turn out great...white and sparkling than before. However i did use a very fine grade sandpaper first with 1st step solution and then followed the step 2 and 3 applications. No sandpaper included in this product.

Perfect!

Ok hands up 1 star reviewers. Who read the instructions? How on earth did you get enough out of the little bottle to get it everywhere?Anyway… Works really well. Some folks mentioned sanding beforehand. Don’t just start with 400 or coarser. Try very fine grit like 1200 or even finer first. If it’s not enough, then go one or two grades coarser then work back to fine. Lots of elbow grease with the first stage was enough for my foggy 12yo lights. Also be careful with the bottle of final coat. It has a plastic stopper under the cap. I only put the cap back on thinking it would seal ok but it didn’t. Keep the stopper and replace before you replace the cap!

STOP Damaged BMW headlight cause over $3,000 damage
22 October 2021

Purchased this product under recommendation of Bunning Staff member. The UV Stabiliser liquid which is the last thing you apply, seriously etched the surface of the Headlight. I have attached a Photo of the Driver side after application and passenger side which I did not touch.BMW have quoted over $3,000 to replace the headlight as it is a sealed unit.

Trojan headlight restoration kit review
22 January 2021

I bought the Trojan kit because when I went to apply the UV clear coat in the alternative product I was using it had dried out in its sealed plastic container after 14 months unopened in my garage. This meant that my badly sun-damaged headlights had already been rubbed back with 1200 and 2000 grit paper, before I used the Trojan polishing cream. It made my sanded lenses look noticeably clearer, so if your lenses are badly damaged you might consider using coarser abrasive material first. The Trojan UV sealant came in a small glass bottle with a very secure stopper and was all there. The Trojan UV sealant came in a small glass bottle with a very secure stopper and was all there. The kit contained a small rubber block with absorbent material on one face to which the sealant was applied. It was easy to use and you could do the edges much more accurately than with a folded cloth. This would make it easier to avoid getting the UV treatment on your paint work, although there were no warnings about this on the box. It did an excellent job. I treated four headlights and two tail lights and used about half the contents. It is unlikely that the rubber pad could be reused as the sealant dries hard, although it might be possible to apply a new layer of absorbent material. I think this is an excellent product and much better value than its competitors. But, it would benefit from a leaflet with more detailed instructions or direction to a web site for tips on things like avoiding overlapping when applying the sealant or what to do if you get it on paintwork.

Works better than anticipated
31 December 2022

Bought this on a whim. Was in 'Hammer Barn' buying something else, saw this and grabbed it. The headlights on my Ranger were so 'fogged/clouded', I'm surprised I haven't been pulled over for it not being roadworthy. Got home and read all the 1 star reviews, and started regretting my decision. Nonetheless, I saw there was a few 4-5 star reviews, so went ahead with it anyway. Came up sensational. Much better than anticipated. A lot of the 1 star reviews seemed to be complaining about the UV component (which I think is essentially a clear coat), and how it dripped on everything etc. I followed the instructions, and used a very small amount of the final UV component. Like half a dozen drops per light. Dropped onto the white side of the 'sponge' and 'quickly' wiped it ... MoreBought this on a whim. Could not be happier with the final product and the price.

Works better than more expensive competitors products
3 April 2022

I was hesitant using this kit at first due to the price difference between competitors products but after spending $80 on another I thought I’d give it a go. I thought I’d been ripped off again right up until the final step. Once the UV coating was applied my headlights look almost as good as new. I think the trick is to apply the UV coat lightly. Follow the instructions and don’t rush.
