I bought this today. Opened the packed and closed the mechanism and it broke. The pin connecting the blade to the handle just snapped.I can't believe Bunnings could possibly sell such absolute rubbish. This product should be removed from the shelves immediately. The packaging says they provide a lifetime warrantee. They must be hoping everyone who buys this drops dead before they open the packaging.

Good weight & looks but poorly designed or manufactured - cannot cut through cleanly. Doesn't fit purpose. Like to return it but unable to find the receipt.

I’m really surprised by the 1 star reviews. I’ve bought many secateurs and these are by far the best ones I’ve bought.I’ve filled 5 green bins with them since I’ve bought them. I pruned back my massive fig tree too. The ratchet works well.

The cuts it could cut were unclean - it tended to rip the branches instead, but more often than not it couldn't prune the end branches of my apricot tree, typically 8mm wide, at all. After persevering for a while, I went back to the shed to grab my rusted out 10 year old pair of $10 bunnings secateurs, and completed the job cleanly and with little effort.Possibly wins my award for most useless bunnings product ever. Information service desk weren't surprised when I returned them for a refund.
Actually quite disappointed with this product. I have other Trojan products and they have always been worth more than their price tag, but this pruner leaves much to be desired. The main flaw with this pruner is that there is no spring mechanism to return or force the pruner into the OPEN position, which means each time you prune you need to open the pruner manually yourself, and the jaws do not open wide. I guess from the pictures you can't tell this so I had expected the pruner to be OPEN by default, but the way it is designed it is sort of useless
Very poorly made; the spring between the handles crushed in about 10 minutes of first use. The cutting prior to that was mediocre; there was no snap through feeling most of the time when I tried to prune an apricot tree with them and the blades often remained stuck to the stem being cut.
I was fooled by lifetime warranty, not fit for purpose an understatement. I'm so shocked at how thoroughly bad it is, was compelled to contribute. The manufacture, build quality, machining of components and engineered design are shocking. Every pivot/fulcrum point has astounding slop or proper lateral faces for the blade to slide against. The machining of teeth in the blade are rounded both laterally and contour which additionally is lacking directional cuts. The ratcheting lever isn't folded or aligned for the purposes of the riveted pin catch. The thing is absent of any precision. Every mechanical point of every component renders this creation incapable of geometrical alignment. When attempting a cut as the blade pivots it twists, ratcheting or otherwise it's ... MoreI was fooled by lifetime warranty, not fit for purpose an understatement. Honestly the best part of these was the ease in which Bunnings accepted the return. They were essentially non-functional from the packet. Couldn't ratchet, spring misshapen, literally couldn't cut the smallest of branches. I normally wouldn't write such a negative review but these are an absolute do not buy in my opinion.
The worst secateurs I have ever used. Will not cut cleanly through even very small green branches. I'm talking half a centimetre. I feel I was totally ripped off. The construction of the tool is of a very low standard, flimsy and cheap. Do not purchase.
I purchased this product and took it home. They are totally useless as the jaws only open about 20mm. The pruners themselves are so poorly made that they rattle when you open them with both hands because you can't open them with one hand. I can't return them because I used them which is against the law as I should be able to return them if they are not in working order. My advice is to stay away from these unusable pruners.
