The shorts are meh at best. A little longer than I'd like, and no zip pockets. just the regular jean-style ones. The liner is horrible. It's a really cheap "mesh backer" type. Pad is thin and not well attached. Overall fits weird. Has seams running right down the middle. And no fly. Clearly not designed by, or for, anyone with male anatomy.

Very comfortable in hot weather. They feel light, but they have proven to durable enough to withstand crashes. The liner felt a little weird at first, but they broke in nice and I really like them now. Zipper pockets would've been nice, but I don't like riding with stuff in my pockets anyway, that could be a deal breaker for some though.

Great length & fit, reasonable price. Liner is stitch attached on one side at the hip. Will probably separate the liner to wash separately if outer shell is fine.Surprised by color. It's more of a turquoise than the navy blue shade it appeared to be on screen (For the Corsair). Also, mine had a black material panel wrapping around the back to the hips that was not pictured. Essentially I received a two color pair of shorts that looked more like older season or something I see on brands like Zoic, etc.Adjustment tabs not rubber as pictured.Purchased different pair of Troy Lee Ruckus shorts during the previous season from Jensen and was much happier with overall quality/accuracy of sample images.

these shorts are lightweight, the material is highly breathable, doesn't snag on trail foliage much and fits well, so crotch does hang up on the nose of the saddle. chamois that it came with is very comfortable, supportive and not too much. Feels it will hold up well over time. The side adjustment straps are an adequate way to tighten up the waist band. I do wish the velcro was a little larger to snug these down a little tighter. So why 3 stars? The sizing on these shorts is typical Troy Lee. I freakin love their products, commitment to the mountain biking community and style BUT the sizing is a joke! I first purchased a size 34, my typical size. They where so small. I returned and ordered a 36, so huge. I returned yet again and reordered a 34. These fit but are ... Same style, same color and 3 completely different fitting shorts. Troy Lee do better! That said EVO made this easy and pretty quick considering Covid slowdowns on shipping. The customer Service at EVO was superb!!!
The main thing to know about these shorts is that they don't have a zippered or otherwise secure pocket. Like most people these days, I like to put my phone in my pocket when I ride. The 'front' pockets you see in the pictures are the only pockets the shorts have. They are quite deep, and you might be able to put your phone in there and have it stay put, but I haven't attempted that particular stunt yet, and have to resort to a different location to carry my phone.Other than that, I'm very pleased with these shorts. I feel they run a bit biggish - if you're between sizes, I'd suggest that you think about buying the smaller one. I bought the same size as I wear for street pants, and before I rode them, I thought they'd be too loose. But they have a lot of silicone ... I feel they run a bit biggish - if you're between sizes, I'd suggest that you think about buying the smaller one. I bought the same size as I wear for street pants, and before I rode them, I thought they'd be too loose. But they have a lot of silicone grippers (both the liner and the over-short) and they stay in place when I'm riding. They're cut great - never grab the seat or otherwise get in the way.The brass-looking rivet on the waist snaps is pretty sharp. I don't think you'd ever cut yourself on it, but I'm worried that it will eventually cut through the fabric. After several rides and washes, there is no sign at all of this actually happening so this may be a totally unfounded concern - but I have had this happen on other brands of shorts, so I thought it's worth mentioning.
Let me start off by saying that these shorts are super comfortable. They are soft but still feel like they could handle plenty of abuse. I’ve only had them a few weeks so I can’t speak to longevity just yet but I don’t foresee that being an issue. They fit true to size and also have an adjustable band for fine tuning the fit if you need it. It’s summer here in Texas and I sweat a lot but these babies wick moisture away quickly leaving me dry and cool. I highly recommend these and will definitely be buying a few more pairs!
Love these shorts. Super comfortable and they don’t ride up like other shorts. The chamois liner is great too. I just wish that they had in between sizes. The 32’s were too tight and the 34’s are a bit loose but the velcro cinch takes care of that for the most part. Overall great shorts and definitely my go to pair of MTB shorts.
As always I try on other brands and come to TLD , it’s like they have an in on the customers needs by probably actually test riding their products, what a concept others should follow. Anyway , these are Noe my favorite because the race line are no more. These fit best true to size and the liner size was right on for 34 but not so when I ordered the ruckus shorts and returned, didn’t fit me well.. Great company and service is top notch in my book. Everything I own from TLD fits great and last, higher quality, I have full finger glove I use twice a week for 6 years and still no problems. I’m a fan for life:😀
This short is an adequate/economical option and somewhat similar to the higher-level TLD Skyline shorts. I prefer the Skyline short for 2 reasons:1) Flex panel across the back makes the on-the-bike fit better2) Zippered pockets keep valuables secure (if that's important to you). The Skyline has mesh on interior of pockets so theoretically if you do leave pockets open while riding, you might get a slight bit of ventilation but I wouldn't say either short is particularly well-ventilated.Also, I've found the TLD padded liners to be very thin and not particularly comfortable so I only buy the shell and use other liner brands.
Size is right, but the liner seems like it was a couple sizes too small, ended up tossing them. The shorts do not do a good job of staying on the waist, which sucks when trying to not catch the seat when descending. There are no belt loops and the elastic and velcro are just a bad idea. I like the longer length due to the colder temps and better coverage from bushes, etc.
