Tube V2.0 Orange | Nitecore

The Nitecore TUBE has been updated to the TUBE V2.0, now with a maximum output of 55 lumens and a built in rechargeable battery providing up to 58 hours run-time on low output. The battery is charged using a micro USB cable (cable not included) that plugs into the micro USB charging port which is located underneath the dust cover on the left side of the light. Simply plug a able into the torch and connect to power, then the charging indicator will illuminate blue to show charging is in progress and will turn off once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes. On high mode the TUBE V2.0 can project a 25 metre beam range and the 100° wide angle lighting provides excellent peripheral illumination. The single multi-stage switch accesses the 2 brightness levels, momentary on and the infinitely variable output mode. One press will access low, two quick presses will access high, or with the light off you can hold the button down to access momentary high mode which will turn off once the button is released. To use the variable brightness output, first turn the torch on in low mode and then hold the button down in quick succession. The light will go between 1 and 55 lumens and you can release the button when the light reaches your desired output. The tube also has a handy lockout mode so that you can prevent it being accidentally turned on. When the torch is on in any mode for more than 3 seconds, hold the button down until the light blinks once and then the torch will then be in lockout mode. To exit lockout mode simply hold the button down until the light comes back on. If the torch is plugged in to charge when in lockout mode, it will automatically be unlocked. The TUBE is an extremely lightweight and compact torch, which is perfect for attaching to a set of keys and with 9 colours to choose from the whole family can have one without any confusion as to who owns which.

After several years of use - still going strong

I was given one of these 4 or 5 years ago and have been using it several times every day. Has been recharged countless times; still going strong. The two light levels are good. I use dim most of the time, just trying to see into my pack after dark, finding my way to the bathroom at night, but when you need more light the brighter level is strong for such a small light. It also has a feature to lock in in the off position so it does not come on in your pack or pocket.

One watt or five, if you need more light go to your drawer or glovebox. This is easier to use than the light on your phone. See your way with the low setting without totally destroying your night vision. On high you can do most things. I keep it separate from my keychain so I can hold it with my teeth if I need both hands. It is unobtrusive in your pocket. Charge it back up via USB.

I hope nitecore continues to keep making this tube. This is a great small gift I give to my employees and I give this away at car shows , it works great and I recharge it in my car while driving. I use it in small areas in vehicles where a traditional flashlight can’t go. It is small powerful and compact. The only thing I would change is the low feature , they need to increase the low lumen feature too 10lumens instead of 1lumens. The high power of 55 lumen is perfect. If your engineers can get the low lumen to 10, this would be more useful and longer use. I love that you can use adjustable lumen feature. But again please adjust the low feature to default of 10 lumen. They have a variable feature in this compact flashlight. Perfect Gift
8 May 2020

Thanks to B&H for sending a Nitecore Tube V2.0 as a bonus gift with my recent purchase for a Maglite flashlight. Thanks because that probably ended my search for a basic no-frills flashlight in these days of hi-tech light furnaces that spew hair raising LED beams and throw gobs of heat, lots of them even provided by Nitecore.I was trying to find another flashlight equal to my Led Lenser purchased several years ago. It is the only flashlight I have ever owned that still has a working on/off button after several years of use. Obviously other considerations are now more important and they broke the mold on one of the most durable flashlights ever made. I've been looking but can't find another one, but this TUBE V2.0 will light up a dark path and won't blind anyone. I've been looking but can't find another one, but this TUBE V2.0 will light up a dark path and won't blind anyone. It has one button and initiates in low beam. Hold the button and it goes into 55 lumens high beam. Push it again to turn it off. It can do other things too, like preventing it to operate to conserve battery. It's the only rechargeable key chain light I have ever seen, and that in itself is simply great. When the button wears out, buying another is an inexpensive investment, and it might even prevent an injury when traversing an area that's too dark to see any hazards.

Perfect Size & Shape. Extremely Bright.
4 August 2021

I loved the first one I purchased so much I bought 5 more to give to friends! Charges via micro USB cable (unfortunately not supplied) in a port protected by a rubber cover. Small, very thin and light weight, so it's not even noticeable on the key chain. But it outperforms for its size. Two levels of brightness (though variable levels can be selected), the brightest amazingly so considering the small size of this flashlight. Battery capacity is good so need for recharging is infrequent. I'm really impressed with Nitcore products. Their dual battery charger for my Fujifilm cameras is similarly compact and even displays charge status info for each battery.

Pin It To Your Gloves!

This little fella was a freebie with my Bino Purchase. You might ask, why would I need a key chain flashlight when I have a cell phone for lighting things up? Well, the Nitecore TUBE LED has a turbo boost illumination button that turns it into a serious flashlight. The amount of light that you get is amazingly intense for its minute size. We are talking KEYCHAIN Flashlight. In fact, it is so small that I have already misplaced it. Its certainly worth the $10 asking price. To avoid lingering remorse, buy it and put it on your keychain the minute it comes out of the package.

Small without much power, not worth buying

I got a couple of these as freebees from B&H with the purchase of other goods. I would never have ordered one, if I had to pay for it. I gave one to my wife and put the other on my key chain. Recently, she needed light to get to he car on a dark street, but did not find my gift helpful. When she told me about her experience, I got mine out of my pocket and tried to turn it on. The battery or bulb was dead. There appears to be no way to recharge this. (Neither instructions nor any accessories came with it.) Very slick little thing.

This came as a giveaway from B&H when I bought another product. So what? was my first impression. But this is a very cute little flashlight that is sufficiently bright with two settings to be very handy on a keyring. I really like it, and am now trying to assess the storage capacity of its battery. It is rechargeable by USB, and that's something neat. The downside for me is that its power button is not guarded, and I think I've hit it a couple times when it's in my pocket, and thus drained the battery when I needed it late in the day. I either need to be more careful, or find a better way of carrying it. If the charge life is good, this might be something to keep in the car. Picture shows USB micro charging port (rubber seal). Clip not included, but I think it's ... MoreThis came as a giveaway from B&H when I bought another product. So what? was my first impression. Works for me!
13 June 2023

This came as a freebee with a Nitecore charger for my Leica. I like it! Small, and rechargeable. I like that it has a low power setting (perfect for checking camera settings during those nite shots) as well as a stronger setting for more typical flashlight uses. Can't say it replaces a typically powered flashlight for normal uses, but it certainly works in a pinch! If you can accept a bit more bulk on your key chain, its a perfect addition.

Worthless
4 January 2022

I paid nothing for either of two of these. B&H threw them in as freebees when I made other purchases. They didn't put out much light and were apparently neither rechargeable nor capable of taking replacement batteries. I kept one on my key chain and gave the other to my wife. I guessed they might come in handy some time, should one of us have trouble locating a door lock in the dark. A few months later that happened to me, but by then the power source had lost its charge or the bulb had failed. My wife had a similar experience with hers. In my opinion this light is worth no more than the amount I paid.
