The 3D immersive sound caught me off guard with how well it was implemented and executed on PS5 and these headphones. I daily bose 700's for PC gaming and while these are obviously much cheaper - they are now my go to for my PS5. You can use these headphones for almost every gaming system (pc included) outside of the Xbox. I have also seen reviews saying these are "on ear" vs "over the ear" headphones which I disagree with. I have rather large ears/head and my ears fit inside the headphone cuffs just fine and as always just go into BestBuy to try them on if you are concerned.Superhuman Hearing - This is an odd mode that I was only able to find useful in some games and didn't work in most others. When it did work - it worked AMAZING. So what Superhuman hearing is, is essentially a sound "zoom in" on footsteps and other player movements. I was able to actionably react on this the most using Fortnight but it really is a "your mileage may vary" kind of feature.Build Quality/Comfortability - The headphones are made using a nice feeling plastic and soft cloth headphone cuffs - not as comfortable as the Astro A50's cuffs but I was able to wear these headphones for hours on end gaming without a worry on battery, fatigue or comfort. Heat was also not a problem as my head stayed cool the entire time despite the cloth construction. I find them a little bit lighter and more comfortable than the PlayStation branded headphones for the PS5 and I was also able to wear my glasses with no issues with squishing or pressure points from the headphones.Sound - Now this is where I was really blown away, for $100 these headphones pack a punch on bass and sound immersion with the 3d sound. Completely blown away with how the modes also change the EQ balance through four premade modes - I would have like to see a way to alter the EQ somehow manually but there are enough modes where it isn't really a bother. The headphones get quite loud and get loud enough to drown out white noise considering these don't have any form of active or passive noise canceling and the cuffs don't really eliminate any exterior sound as well. I was able to game, listen to music and watch some youtube on these headphones and was completely satisfied the whole time in sound quality. It isn't quite Bose Bass level but I will say it is quite punchy without blurring out other sounds.Mic - The mic is small and not overbearing like some of the other headsets that have a giant stick attached to the headset AND this mic can easily be flipped back up to quick mute and tuck away if you aren't using it. The mic quality is good on PlayStation, however, on PC I would recommend a standalone mic for discord as it doesn't cut out a decent chunk of white noise on Discord that wasn't prevalent in PlayStation chat.Value - This is priced to steal buyers, at the $100-$150 price mark these headphones are really riding at the top. With a sleek mic, comfortable construction, long battery life and banging audio it is hard to not auto purchase these headphones. What I did not like - I really hated the way the buttons feel on your head, as in it is exceptionally hard to tell if you are pressing the power button, the mode button, the volume dial or the mic volume. This is really the largest pitfall as I have pressed the power changing the sound modes and lowered the volume on my game trying to lower the mic volume. While this isnt the biggest deal, I have found it executed better on other brands headphones. I would recommend going into BestBuy and trying them on to see what feels/fits best for you.To conclude, I was completely blown away by the sound out of these $100 headphones. Yes they aren't the most comfortable, made of metal or anything crazy - but they also aren't $200/300 and compete directly with PS5's own headphones while not being an abrasive and dirt showing white. I love how the mic flips up and down with the ability to change the volume on the game and mic chat individually and easily.

A big thing that got in the way of the comfortability of the headset was the ear cups. For me, comfortability makes or breaks a headset, and these ear cups definitely didn't add to it. They feel like they are extremely "air-y", and don't hold well to my ears, allowing for easy slippage while moving my head. In addition, it also feels just weird having them sit on my ears. Not a fan of them whatsoever. Another aspect that stuck out to me was the overall build quality of the headset. It dosen't feel like something that can adapt to one's head, and feels cheap in a sense. An example of this is the headset microphone comes out. It's a minor thing, sure, but when pulling down the microphone's plastic microphone to talk and disengage the mute function, it feels like I'm snapping the headset's microphone off.Overall, the headset isn't a bad choice if you can find it on a sale. It has some pros, such as sound quality and being a wireless headset for freedom of movement, but the actual build quality and how it rests on ears leaves a lot to be desired.

Since I got these headphones, I've noticed that I've been playing games with them on by default. The sound quality is surprisingly great - it's crisp and clear, I can hear detail that I haven't heard while using my normal sound system, and the directional audio is pretty nice (though it does have a tendency to overcompensate). I love how long they last, as well - forgetting to charge them one day isn't going to ruin a play session like it would with some other headsets. The fit is nice as well - since I wear glasses, I'm used to headsets being painful to wear after long periods of time, but the "glasses fit" design actually works really well. I like how the microphone folds away when I don't need it, and totally disappears into the headset without leaving a spot for the headset to get caught on wires when I set it down. Also, I REALLY appreciate how the volume controls are wheels instead of buttons - it makes it much easier to adjust in case of sudden fluctuations in game volume. With all that being said, there's one huge flaw: The connection can be unreliable. When it works, it works like a charm - my PlayStation automatically recognizes the headset and swaps audio output over. However, sometimes it DOESN'T want to work. In these instances, I have to unplug the dongle and turn off the headset, then hook everything back up. Sometimes I also need to reboot my PlayStation. While the quality of these headphones is otherwise good enough that it isn't a dealbreaker for me, I'd be lying if I said this glitch wasn't a huge annoyance in an otherwise seamless product.I'd still recommend this headset, but here's a tip: make sure you put the dongle on the USB port that's easiest for you to get to, because you'll probably have to unplug it and put it back in at various points. Glitchy connection notwithstanding, they're otherwise a fantastic headset that lets you game at night or in noisy environments without the hassle of wires and constant charging.

These aren't the most impressive sounding headphones you'll ever come across, but they have some useful functions built into the headset that makes these worth while. The sound quality is just alright. There is some very artificial sounding bass, mids are there but subtle, and highs are very crisp. Almost too trebly.. I can hear the speaker pop often, especially at high volumes, it doesn't sound "natural" at all to my ears. They do have decent "directional" audio.. when I am playing games like Fortnite, Apex, Call of Duty, I can tell which direction footsteps are coming from and where the gun fire is on the map. There is two volume rockers, one controls the game audio, and the other controls microphone volume. My favorite function about this headset is that the microphone/headphone kind of acts like an active monitor when you have the microphone on. I can hear what's going on in the room around me, and myself talking. (not an echo, but an active monitor.) If there is one thing I have never liked about using headphones while gaming and chatting is that I cannot hear my own voice clearly when talking because I end up feeling like I end up screaming into the microphone. If you know, you know.Besides that, there is a mode button which changes the built in presets but honestly they all sound pretty similar to my ears. I just leave it at the default mode when I plug them in. The included USB dongle is compatible with PS4/PS5 and PC. Battery life is excellent, Ive yet to charge them since the first full charge. I've had them for about 5 days now, and play about 2 hours a night. Turtle Beach claims 48 hours of battery life in these lol, sounds insane to me but I believe it. They're still going strong for me. I also really like the flip to mute function of the microphone, for those times when a relative walks into your room to ask you something 😅 All in All.. I wish this headset had better audio quality, but the battery life, and other functions of this headset really make up for that and I can recommend these to any gamer who wants a good set of headphones for online gaming and chatting.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset. The wireless headset works via a USB dongle for the Playstation 4, the Nintendo Switch, and of course, PC. This headset is checks off a lot of the checkboxes that you should look for in a gaming headset. It's very good overall with a nice white aesthetic, a good mic, and relatively comfortable fit for those with larger heads (or those who wear glasses). Now mind you, I'm usually a wired-everything type of device when I'm serious about something. I'm coming in from an era of the great twitch shooters such as Quake, CS 1.6, Unreal, and Tribes. I'm coming in from an era of the great twitch shooters such as Quake, CS 1.6, Unreal, and Tribes. You want to minimize any possible disadvantages that could be introduced such as latency and that usually means no wireless mouse, keyboard, or headset. Furthermore, I've had many teammates cost us a match as they drop out in the middle of a match because they either forgot to swap out a battery or recharge. In gaming marathons, their wireless devices just couldn't hold up for the onslaught of titles we played. Well let me tell you: the box and manual claim that this device boasts an astounding 24 hours of playtime per match. This is honestly surprising because I looked this model up on the company's website and as far as I could tell, it supposedly is only 16 hours. Somehow they eked out an extra 8 hours out of the darn thing. It's been a while since I've done a gaming marathon so I can't quite tell if it is hitting 24 hours before dying, but this is really up there in terms of battery life. Now for the audio: the audio responsiveness has no discernable lag behind any of the heavy action that was happening on screen. The mic set up is a big step up from what I had before. Let's just say that this is miles better and the features that the Stealth 600 has over my other wired headset make it the defacto headset to use for the future. I really like that I can swing the mic stick up to deactivate the mic or bring it down and it automatically enables it. Bringing it down to chatting also enables this interesting feature sort of like when you have active noise cancellation enabled for other brands earbuds so you can hear your surroundings better. This makes it so you can hear your own voice. This is particularly important so you don't make a fool of yourself as by unintentionally raising your voice louder to hear yourself better. By being able to also hear your surroundings better, you can still know when someone is trying to talk to you. The mic snaps satisfyingly into place when not in use, secure and easily accessible if you want to make use of it later. I was able to walk around to the kitchen and hear things and use the mic clearly while a game was still in lobby. I'd estimate maybe 25 feet from living room to kitchen area. The headset boasts that it is designed for maximum comfort. I can say that with my big old melon head (seriously, I have to pick the biggest caps) AND wearing glasses, the headset is comfortable enough for the first three to four hours. I played with it through the Midwest summers and it surprisingly doesn't play hot. Any more than that though, I definitely have to take them off. And while the design of headset band it is a little more rounded to give some room for arms on glasses to slide through, for me, they were a little stiff and I could only hold it in one position. Maybe I just haven't "broken them in" so to speak, though I haven't had to do this with my other three headsets. The build quality is not flimsy, it feels solid. The only thing that could be worrying is if the mic were extended and somehow the headset got knocked off my face and it lands awkwardly, it could snap. But luckily since there's no wires, it's not like someone is going to trip or have it yanked with my controller. What I also like is that the physical volume adjustments for both the audio and the voice is done via wheels on the back of the left side of the headset. The top one is for the audio and the bottom one is for the mic. The wheels allows you to quickly scroll through to make adjustments in game, rather than having to hit a button repeatedly to get it to what you want. There's also some sound presets that the headset offers, but for the most part I kept it as the default as I wanted to give a review of what most people would be playing this on.So how's the sound quality stack up? Well... what I usually run is a 5.1 home theater, or when the SO doesn't want to hear all the explosions and crashes going on and its late at night, I use a wired headset into the controller. The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 headset satisfies the latter use-case scenario in that I can get an approximate idea of where steps or gunfire may be coming from, but it can't quite measure up to a dedicated sound system. I'll be brutally honest and say that in my single player session of Control: Ultimate Edition (fantastic game by the way), the gunshots of the "minigun" sounded like little beads hitting against a tin can when I was using the headset. I tried adjusting the sound in the game settings to Headset, but that didn't change the sound itself. The voice is clear, the powers and explosions sound acceptable, but the materialized bullets didn't quite sound right. In COD, the shots sounded fine there, but the again, the explosions couldn't match what my subwoofer could put out. The audio quality is more than adequate and is a reasonable trade-off.I do have some nitpickings about this though.1. When the USB receiver is plugged into the console system, but the headset is off, the console isn't smart enough to realize that it should be sending audio out to the home theater system. I like to be lazy, but you'll have to get up and unplug the receiver when you don't want to use the headset (like say, after 4 hours when my ears hurt).2. Another annoying thing is that when the headset connects to the USB receiver, it boots up with a very LOUD notification to let you know it has connected. This happens every single time if the headset has been powered off. It doesn't remember what your wheel's volume was set to, so I've resorted to just having the headset around my neck when I first start it up so my poor ears do not have to suffer. After it has finished pairing, I'll have to rotate the wheel up and then back down to have it set to the level I prefer playing at since it doesn't seem to remember the scale of what the volume is. If I set the volume to the middle, say, 5, then turn it off and then turn it back on, it'll think that 5 is the max and set it to be the loudest as can be until I slide that wheel up to 10 and back down again. Note that the numbers I used were purely for reference, the wheels don't have any number indicators on them, you just feel/hear the clicks as you scroll through the wheels. For the record, I checked to see if either of those issues could have been resolved as a driver update as the manual even says to first check the website to get the latest drivers (you have to install their Turtle Beach Hub to on your PC and connect your headset via USB to check for firmware updates) — but it turns out there aren't any updates available. The first issue may be a limitation of the console and not being a first party headset as I believe the PS3 was able to know if their official headset was turned off and redirect audio back to TV/home theater.Summary:Pros: comfortable, good range, great battery life, build quality, mic features, decent sound, responsive audio with no lag.Cons: after 4 hours, it may get uncomfortable, loud startup, and sound level resets
I think gamers take their headsets pretty seriously, always looking for something better and newer but usually finding their favorite headset remains the same. Inside you have the headset, a Micro-USB charging cable, a setup/instruction/warranty insert, and the USB-A dongle to communicate with the playstation. Everything you need, nothing you don’t. The headset has hard plastic headband padded against your head with soft squishy foam and the ear muffs are also padded with soft foam. The microphone folds up into the earpiece, effectively becoming part of the headset when you don’t need it and is easily flipped down when you do. The headset boasts refined and tuned acoustics including 3D audio functionality as well as a 48 hour battery life.On a functionality scale these are great! The sound is clear and precise (or well lag free precise enough I didn’t notice anything out of synch) and while I don’t know how well my games utilize the 3D audio I was playing Saints Row among others and it seemed that I could walk past pedestrians or enemies and hear them toward the back of my hearing and fainter as I moved away. The volume wheel is actually two: one for the mic volume and one for the sound, which is nice although I don’t use the mic when I play online. Levels get plenty loud enough and the ear muffs keep the volume in so anyone beside you won’t likely hear much if anything. One other feature listed on the box is being glasses friendly and while I didn’t find my glasses smooshed or pressed on, the headset itself seemed a little tight. You can obviously stretch it out, which I did, but it was always either flopping forward/backward off my head loose or it was a little too tight. It was a minor complaint overall and I used it without issue (no headaches, red marks, etc.) but did keep looking up at my old headset wishing this new one was softer/more comfortable on my melon. As for the battery life, the other main draw from box features, I work full time and have kids so while I give it a solid 2-3 hour use daily on the weekend I never came close to being able to say it lasts 48 hours without a charge. I didn’t charge it all week and used it three days straight and then a couple times I’d pop it on if I was up early enough to play a quick game before leaving for work…no battery issues or anything. I can confirm this will go beyond 12 hours without a charge, I have no reason to doubt a name brand like Turtle Beach doesn’t go up to the two day mark or close to.So overall I won’t likely use this except as a backup or as a kids headset based simply on it being a little tight but that’s just me being set in my ways. This headset has great audio, excellent battery, and being bluetooth wireless is awesome even if it does require a dongle in the PS5. There’s no reason someone looking for a new headset wouldn’t love this thing and I plan to take it back out next time a triple-A game releases that I think will take advantage of the 3D audio fully. Highly recommended for those who don’t have an abnormally large head like me.

You can have many long chat sessions with these Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX and the battery life will keep up. USB-C charging cable comes inside and the headphones provide a quick charge. Turtle beach claim you get 8.5 hours of battery life on just 15 minutes of charge. and that pretty much seems to be the case here. You can use these headphones on PS5 / PS4 / PS4 PRO / Nintendo Switch (DOCKED MODE ONLY) / PC & MAC. I've tested most of these devices and they worked fine with the provided USB dongle. PS5 provided the full 3D Audio sound that gave great experiences on games like Call of Duty where you can hear footsteps upstairs and below you. On the USB Dongle is a switch where you can use the headphones for PC use. The optimized controls will kick in and will sync with your multimedia to allow you to play and pause music, skip tracks, and adjust master volume directly from your PC. The range of the dongle seems to be standard of others and doesn't really reach that far in the home but to be fair you most likely wouldn't be far from your device.Econamamlly they look great with a rounded design and are most likely the best-designed Turtle Beach headphones. Unless you get different colors they don't stand out too much in black, Turtle beach logo is large on the side of the earcup. The mic is retractable down so you can get it out the way when not in use; This also mutes the mic on the fly. The headband and the headphones themselves feel durable but haven't had any accidents with them so far like dropping them on the ground. They are glasses-friendly which is a BIG PLUS in my book and not many manufacturers take this into account in designing. Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAXis VERY comfortable on the head and I can see myself wearing them for hours; the cushions on the earcups and band are soft with a nice feeling material. As mentioned before they sound Amazing on PS5's 3D audio which is a standout to me. But it also sounds great just using them for normal media. music gave good bass for example when listening to different AMSRs. the audio experience was nice using these headphones even with movies. Overall they seem to be an all-around good set of wireless headphones for gaming and everything else you may want to use them for. Definitely a good alternative 3rrd party solution for headphones. If you are a gamer and game on many devices, using these one pair of headphones would be great across the range of them. Highly recommend to console & PC gamers.
I've used many headsets and these are among the worst ive used..First I want to address the fact that I could not step even a few paces away from my playstation OR computer with these before it started crackling audio. I tried two different rooms in my house (one with no other devices in it) and both had the same issue. The manuals claim 30 feet but i'd be hard pressed to get 10 honestly. That said if you're gaming when do you actually walk away and continue use? Just keep that in mind here if that will be an issue. The ear pads are extremely uncomfortable and of a swimsuit like material. They are scratchy and very loud when they move on your face/ears. Just keep that in mind here if that will be an issue. The ear pads are extremely uncomfortable and of a swimsuit like material. They are scratchy and very loud when they move on your face/ears. For this reason alone they just are not comfortable for long periods of time. The holes for ears are on the small side and I don't usually have that issue on any headphones. They do a great job of noise rejection but that also means they hold a lot of heat. The headband squeezes your head a lot. When you use a headset sometimes the ear cups move to the natural head position and sometimes they don't, these ones do not. They make the V shape and squeeze your cheeks and head. Granted they do end up loosening up over time to your contour given the plastic build quality it doesn't really do the trick. The pho leather on the top is however comfortable on top of the head at least but i feel the material will degrade with oils. The mic has no noise suppression outside of playstation use. What that means is if you use this on PC or Switch as advertised that you have essentially a raw mic. Good example here is when I was using these my fortnite party could hear an airplane passing my house over my mic and we were laughing about it. Granted you get good audio quality in terms of a wireless headset as most of the time the mic is very poor this at least does a good job it's just that the lack of sound suppression which is most likely because playstation has this built in and when you use them with it sounds much much better. Just take note of this if you want to swap between stuff. The build is extremely plastic and cheap feeling. All I can really say about it honestly because some feel quality and some do not. This feels more like a toy than a gaming peripheral which is unfortunate. They look the part for sure but adjusting the plastic headband and putting on a cheap feeling ear pad just does not inspire confidence that this is something that will be good long term. Those things said if you can get over all that and maybe you are younger and have a smaller head/ears you will find this headset passable. The hard stops on the dials for sound and mic volume are actually really good. Nice tactile buttons and flip to mute are great features! The dongle is small if that matters to you and does not include any physical switch like other turtle beach sets. The sound quality is lacking low end compared to others. It's got a great midrange and you can hear footsteps alright because of this but the sound stage is fairly poor even with the surround option on the ps5 it just sounds like an artificial sound stage rather than what is intended here.I think for the money this is on the budget side for a wireless pair but you also get all the shortcomings of a budget wireless headset at the same time. It's passable for a child but if you're any bit into long gaming sessions and quality this headset isn't for you and I suggest looking into one of the more expensive models where you just get more for your money.
There are SO many positives when it comes to these headphone from the materials used to the thought process behind features which make these a must have. The headphones are made super well and all of the buttons have a nice tactile feel to them. The ear cups are soft and the head strap is firm enough to keep them on your head but not to where it feels like a clam smushing your ears. The sound on these is AMAZING you can hear footsteps and rustling in the bushes in shooters to help you stay one step ahead. Now the sound and materials are expected to be high end but what really make these a must have are the small little things.1. The charging is USB C which is what everyone is at/going to so you don't need more charing wires2. The transmitter for the headphones makes it so there is NO INTERFERENCE from other devices, especially with there being so many wireless devices in our houses this is a must and removes any/all lag.3. Mic monitering so this is so you can hear your self when you speak, that way you know if your being overloud/tone etc however these helped me just gently hear someone else that was talking to me.4. The battery life was perfect, now it does do up and down depending on how high set certain items to but that's a given and the drop off on everything being high isn't that much.5.Glasses friendly , not everyone will find this useful but its a major plus.6. Flip to mute mic feature, this work so well and is so needed espically when your in a game and someone walks in telling something you may not want others to hear haha. Its an absolute must so much better than having to push a button, the flipping motion to turn on/off the mic just seems more natural
The two most important components of playing video games are the visual quality and sound quality. When both are high end, the game is fun to play. That is where a great seat of gaming headphones really makes the experience so enjoyable. There are a few steps to follow with the PlayStation setup, but it works with a PC without setup. The headset is rated to be worn comfortably with glasses and the description is accurate. The cushioning is soft and sits lightly on my head with no discomfort in the temple area or around the ear cushions. The ear cushions are just right for blocking out unwanted sound while offering comfortable wearing for quite some time. The sound is incredible, putting you right in the scene of the game. It is subversive and there are four out of the box blends for the equalizer and all sound very good. I am a bass and treble boost fan, so I use the setting that boosts both ranges. The microphone is sturdy and useful with the ability to turn it on and off by raising it and lowering it.I was really happy with the variable microphone monitoring control, which allows more or less outside sound through the headset. This is handy not only for gaming, but for working as well.
