***!!SAVE YOUR MONEY!!*** As a tech-pro that's worked on satellites and for The Microsoft Network that went to college with a great ear for Audio Engineering I've always been a gamer and an audiophile and I definitely DON'T recommend this headset for any true gamer. Overall, I bought this headset because I live in a condo in a mountain resort town with a million wifi and blutooth devices all nearby and that amount of wireless interferes with my Astro A50s 5GHz band and cuts out my sound from time to time, this turtle beach headset connects directly to the xbox via xbox sync. The wired $40 Astro A10's or my favorite Astro A50's crush this headset with ease, and I'll tell you why... Pros: 1. Really well constructed. They feel nice and comfortable while you're wearing ... The wired $40 Astro A10's or my favorite Astro A50's crush this headset with ease, and I'll tell you why... Pros: 1. Really well constructed. They feel nice and comfortable while you're wearing them. But don't expect the cooling gel to make them any cooler. 2. Wonderful sound if you're playing music via blutooth (the music sounds great) and the volume can have literal booming bass with great fidelity. And this is because you can do extra volume bosting via your phone. I also do a lot of cross platform gaming where I use my phone to voice chat via discord or google duo which make this headset great to use with the blutooth feature. (But also horrible, keep reading..) 2. Great for taking calls while gaming. (But keep in mind if you take a call via blutooth you can't talk in an xbox party, and there's no option to do both or switch back and forth.) 3. The charge on this headset is pretty good, it does last a long time and the Type C charging port is great, I wish there was a way to really tell what % the battery was really at though, other than the pairing voice telling you low, medium or high every time you turn on the thing. 4. After you easily sync this headset to your xbox they will automatically turn on your xbox when you power on the headset. (This can be super annoying if you want to just use the headset to make a call or listen to music.) 5. Active Noise Cancelation, or (I think it's an on / off switch in the app marked Noise Gate) you definitely want this feature on, it will almost mute your mic unless you're talking great for people running AC units and fans or for households with loud talkers in your background etc.. 6. Although basic, the app to use this headset with is decent and can pack a good amount of changeable settings. You do not need the app running all the time but just when you need to change settings. There is a customizable spin wheel under the game volume wheel on the headset and the app lets you customize what that spin wheel does. I personally found that if you change that wheel to just about every function available to dial in your sound perfectly or the best you can for each individual setting that you can get SOME decent game sound out of these things. But don't expect them to live up to whatever reputation they try to sell them with, unfortunately and sadly that's just not going to happen. Cons: 1. The EQ for this headset will never make any game sound great, I've tried using dolby atmos and windows sonic as well as generic via the xbox as well as the in-app customizable EQ and no sound setting sounds anywhere close to what a game should sound like, in fact now that I think about what I'm writing in-depth, my samsung soundbar and subwoofer sound a thousand times better than the quiet and tingy sounding actual game sound that you get from this headset. Trust me, you just can't dial it in to sound even close to decent. While we're talking about game sound I should touch base on what I believe they called SUPER HUMAN HEARING mode.. Also known as turning off all the bass and making your game sound like complete and absolute trash. I personally would rather die than play any game with this kind of sound, why a company even sells something like this confuses and infuriates me. 2. When you take a call and the headset mic now gives your phone priority it will also turn down your in game sound and cap that volume at a now much lower level, you will still hear people in your xbox party (but you are now muted to them) and you have little to no control over it, but your phone call will sound great! This is stupid as I literally bought this headset for this option but it's this function that literally is a deal-breaker for me. You could still go into xbox party chat and customize your party users voice volume but whats the real use of that if you cant talk back because your phone took over the mic priority.. 3. Headset design, the cooling gel aint @$!#... These things are just like any other over the ear style headphone you've ever tried, don't get me wrong, they are comfy, but the word cooling really doesn't play any roll in anything other than them being able to spark ones curiosity pre-purchase, don't fall for the hype! If you look at the in-game volume wheel it has a little protective notch on the back of your head side of the wheel which conveniently blocks your reclined chair from messing around with your volume wheel, which is definitely not the case for the customizable wheel below that one that can be severely annoying if you have that wheel set to Blutooth volume level, if you set it up this way like mine then every time you rest your head on the recliner in the reclined position you will maximize your volume slowly every time you move your head and when it gets to max volume it will cut out all sound for a second and if you have the beep notification turned up it will also beep and notify you that it has reached max volume. "Super Effing Annoying!" I have debated making my own block of plastic to deter this from happening. 4. Every now and then the headset will sound like it's buffering and things will sound scrambled. Not sure that there is any way to combat this issue, doesn't happen that often, I'm guessing it really only does it when the xbox itself is under extreme processor load, my system I'm currently using is the Xbox One X. And there you have it, my review on the Astro stealth 700 second gen. I think I've proven it to be a huge failure. A few small updates and this headset could really rock. The volume I can get from Blutooth music really tells me that this headset has a lot of potential. It's too bad that they're not using it for what it's supposed to be used for. There's a lot of great features but a lot of things that are set up incorrectly. With a serious update to the app all of this could be fixed. I don't see them doing it but who knows maybe with enough reviews of full honest opinion maybe they'll make some changes, I will continue to use this headset only for Rocket League, but as far as everything else goes I'm going to keep using my Astro a50s as they are definitely King! I hope this review helped you! Cheers Cheers....

This headset is not a perfect product, but it's still a 5 star product. I was looking for an upgrade over the Astro A20s as that headset becomes uncomfortable to wear during long gaming sessions, which I would be starting to do again after buying an Xbox Series X. Out of the box, this headset clamps uncomfortably hard on your head and is enough to make you want to return the set and go with something like the Steelseries Arctis 9x. However, if you stretch the headband out by gently pulling the ear cans apart a dozen time, the clamping pressure eases greatly. After gaming with them for 4 or 5 hours per night for the last week, the clamping pressure has relaxed even further and I would now describe them as "comfortably snug". After gaming with them for 4 or 5 hours per night for the last week, the clamping pressure has relaxed even further and I would now describe them as "comfortably snug". The build quality is what I would expect for a more expensive set from Turtle Beach, though I have doubts about whether it would stand the test of time that a more expensive set has. I've had a set of Astro A40s from 2012 that are still going strong and still look and work great. I doubt the Turtle Beach set will last 10 years due to the battery alone and I don't believe Turtle Beach would support a product for that length of time considering they refresh their product line every year or two. For this reason alone, I would highly recommend checking if a credit card you use offers any additional purchase protection such as an extended warranty that kicks in when the manufacturer's warranty ends. This way, if you buy the headset on a credit card and something unexpectedly happens to it after Turtle Beach's warranty ends, you'll be covered for the cost of repairs or more likely a new set of equal value. The padding on the ear cans is plush and comfortable. I have noticed that sweat does not build up around my ears as it did with my Astro A20 set. I would attribute this to the cooling gel infused into the foam in padding of the ear cans. The sound quality of this headset is pretty great. Playing Resident Evil VIII with this headset highlights all the little nuanced noises that game wants you to hear that ends up getting drowned out when you only use TV speakers or even a soundbar. In competitive games, the superhuman hearing feature increases the treble frequencies to highlight enemy footsteps and cuts out the bass frequencies so that explosions don't drown out important audio cues, however this makes the immersive game audio sound unnatural and off putting. If you're going to use that sound profile, it will take some getting used to. The features of this headset that swayed me to buy this set over the Steelseries Arctis 9x are a flip to mute mic, seperate volume controls for game and chat audio instead of a "balance" or "mixer" type control, USB-C charging and lower latency audio (comparitively to the Arctis 9x). In conclusion, out of the box, this is a 4.5 star product. After you've broken it in and the clamping pressure has relaxed, it turns into a 5 star product. I would like to see Turtle Beach address the clamping pressure as just about every journalism review of this set mentions the clamping pressure as an issue. However if you stick with this set and break it in, you won't be disappointed. A final note is that when using this headset with the Xbox, the headset doesn't come to life unless you use the Dolby Atmos for headphones option available in your settings. It's worth the extra $15 CAD as Windows Sonic doesn't do justice to this headset.

The Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 Max are probably the most comfortable, great sounding, and great fitting headphones that I have tried in a while. I immediately became a fan of these headphones because of how comfortable they are and how great they sound. I have been using these headphones for about a week now with my PS5 and I don’t think I will be going back to anything else. These headphones have tons of built-in features such as noise cancellation in the microphone, Lag free USB-A connection for PC or PS5 and Ps4, compatible with Sony 3D audio. The Stealth 700 Max Gen 2 can be used for PC and PS5/PS4 gaming. The headphones can be connected with a provided USB or Bluetooth. The USB does have a little switch on the side to switch back and forth between PC and PS. ... The Stealth 700 Max Gen 2 can be used for PC and PS5/PS4 gaming. The headphones can be connected with a provided USB or Bluetooth. The USB does have a little switch on the side to switch back and forth between PC and PS. Originally, I was not a big fan of the USB connection because it sticks out a bit if you plug in the front, but after noticing the how low latency between the game play and picture synchronization I changed my mind. 3D Audio Experience with PS5 – The 3D audio technology takes your gaming experience to a whole ‘nother level. The audio allows you to hear your enemies and even figure out how far away they are. Now I have tested this feature in Warzone, and It is scary how well that feature works and made gaming even more entertaining. I could hear people around me and even closing the distance on me. It was super cool and even helped me get some more kills. Flip-Up Microphone – This is pretty much self-explanatory. You can flip up the microphone when it is not needed and the audio quality is nice and clear even on phone calls, no issues there. WEAR – The headphones are lightweight, durable, and super comfortable. The ear cushions are made of plush memory foam infused with a layer of cooling gel to keep you comfortable for extended wear. I used these for a few gaming sessions which lasted a few hours, and they were super comfortable. The headset is designed for be glasses friendly and are also adjustable for a better fit. Battery Life and Charing – These headphones have a battery life of about 40+ hours. The headphones are rechargeable with the provided USB-C cable. Now, I haven’t tested out the full battery life to see if it lasts the full 40 hours but for my gaming sessions that last about 4 to 5 hours they work flawlessly. Overall, these headphones are simply amazing. They are super comfortable, they sound great especially with 3D audio with PS5 and are versatile. Probably the only pair you will ever need.

Here is an example of of poor design, and how out of touch the engineers at Turtle Beach are when making "gaming" headsets. Emphasis on the word "gaming" here because when people buy a gaming headset that has a microphone, then it is highly likely that the intention is to play and chat at the same time. For some reason, in the age of multiple chat programs like Teamspeak and Discord, the brilliant minds at Turtle Beach felt it was necessary to - LOWER THE GAME VOLUME WHEN CONNECTED TO A CALL. Some say, "You are on a call, so you will want the game volume to be lowered". And, unfortunately in the case of Discord, a connection is considered a "call". Also, the brilliant minds at TB not only lower the volume for the game during a call, they also provide two separate ... Some say, "You are on a call, so you will want the game volume to be lowered". And, unfortunately in the case of Discord, a connection is considered a "call". Also, the brilliant minds at TB not only lower the volume for the game during a call, they also provide two separate volume controls for the game and the call (bluetooth connection). But you are adjusting the game volume at a fixed lowered state. Meaning you will not get the full volume of the game unless you stop chatting and disconnect from the "call" (Discord, in my example). Why even bother offering separate volume controls for each, but still lower the game volume? Why not let the user lower it? After all, you did provide a volume control. At $150 for these headsets, you would think that after such an outcry from the people who forked over the cash for this poorly designed and expensive headset, why hasn't Turtle Beach made a firmware to fix the issue? Why not give the people what they expected to get when they bought the headsets in the first place? This lack of follow-up from TB is just a continuation of how Turtle Beach has operated for years on end. Once they have your money, it's off to create another expensive headset that will undoubtably have either the same or other problems. Think twice before you buy any TB headsets. TB certainly isn't thinking twice about making you happy, so make yourself happy and heed the warning that TB headsets are not going to work as you expect. And TB has zero interest in fixing a widely well-known issue. PS: They are now trying to push the idea that Xbox will have Discord soon, and the issue will be fixed. I have serious doubts. And TB should not have created this feature without also creating a software switch to use it or not.
First impression was that they were luxury. The refurbished headset was clean and free of defects. I believe they would have lasted a long time. The materials are soft and supple, very comfortable. The entire set is a little heavy, I wouldn’t wear them for long gaming/listening sessions. The audio was great. The earphones dampened the exterior sounds really well. The ear phones fit comfortably over the ears and on top of the head. The Bluetooth function was easy and a great convenience for switching between game and phone audio. My only major complaint (and the reason I returned them) is that the headset created too much pressure against the side of my head. I attempted to “stretch” the headband a little, however, it was still too much pressure for the sides of my ... MoreFirst impression was that they were luxury. It was a no go for my large melon. Otherwise I would recommend. Comfy, great sound, nice materials, convenient Bluetooth.
A great headset compared to the Stealth 700 Gen 1s (which I had for about 4 years or so before they stopped working). Much more comfortable and honestly the adjustable piece inside the ear pad is nice for me as that was a point of failure for the last headset. These headphones feel considerably more durable and overall better made then the 700 Gen 1s. Battery is decent, only really needing to be charged (for my usage) every few days. These headphones have a big sound to them, can be a little bassy sometimes, but they’re gaming headphones so this is to be expected (and fun depending on what you’re playing). Wireless connection is relatively consistent, although it does take a moment to connect to the transmitter after powering on. Bluetooth connection is excellent, ... Wireless connection is relatively consistent, although it does take a moment to connect to the transmitter after powering on. Bluetooth connection is excellent, and the mobile app controls are fine. Volume control for bluetooth media is wonky and does not work well, but controlling the volume on your own bluetooth device is simple enough most of the time. The dual-wireless connection was a big selling point for me, works well. Refurbished unit arrived with some cosmetic defects. One of the thin mesh pieces that covers the driver within the right cup was missing glue along the top and is very loose. The left cup creaks quite a bit where there is any movement, which is really annoying honestly and sounds as if the plastic is rubbing against itself, which gives me reliability concerns.
Grab a tape measure and measure your head, google how to measure a hat. My brim size is 23.5 which is an XL. These things hurt, the clamping force is moderate. Definitely noticeable and painful after 20 minutes. I love the features on this but because of the size, the "glasses channel" are nonexistent. If you are a teen or have a 'less than large adult head" then this may be a good fit for you. But looking at other online reviews, people are bending this thing on a regular basis to stretch out the headset and decreasing the clamping force. The bluetooth is awesome, you can easily get 6 feet from your phone without issue. The wireless is pretty good, 15 feet and one wall, no problem. 25 feet and 3 walls, then you start experiencing connectivity issues. Honestly, the ... Honestly, the features are great, the quality is more than acceptable, it feels like a strong plastic tank. The app is decent for tweaking your sound. If I was in elementary school this would be amazing. The Razer Blacksharks, Kraken and Barracudas are all a non issue for clamping force by comparison. Cloud 2 wired are also fine for my 23.5 inch head. The Corsair HS60 Haptics have a slightly stronger clamping force than the Cloud2s but no where near this vice like grip. Since you are looking at this headset, you already know the issues with big heads and Steelseries headsets. The same features are in the Arctis 9 and Arctis Nova 7 (2022)- but big heads and Steelseries don't mix. If you want a headset that you can take on trips and not have to worry about losing the mic (unlike the Barracuda 2022) this is a USB-C & Bluetooth headset for you.
I have owned dozens of headsets and I can say that this new Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max is very comfortable to wear even after hours of gaming. Out of the box, it looks and feels nice. I have to admit that it did not give me the wow factor when it comes to the style but for me, comfort and sound quality is much more important than style and this headset totally delivers in those 2 areas. Not only it is comfortable, but the noise isolation is also really good as I can barely hear any background noise when I have it on. When it comes to sound quality, it sounded really good. I used the headset for gaming but also had it on for my work conference calls today and the audio was crisp, loud and clear. People on the other end also told me I sounded really clear on ... Turtle Beach really did a good job on this one and it goes without saying that the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max is getting a perfect rating from me.
The sound quality was there, and I liked the adjustments available through the phone app. However the clamping force was far too much for me, and the earcups caused my head to sweat after just a very short 20 minutes. The Stealth 600’s fabric earcups are far more comfortable to me but they lacked the dual connectivity I desired. The second issue I had with these was the subpar sidetone / mic monitoring quality. It was instantaneous but it had a robotic quality to it and no firmware updates managed to fix this. This is a super important feature to me in a closed back headset otherwise I feel like I’m speaking in a tunnel and it affects the way I talk in chat. Turtle Beach used to have some of the best mic monitoring in the industry so I’m not sure what happened. It ... Turtle Beach used to have some of the best mic monitoring in the industry so I’m not sure what happened. It was definitely a lower quality than what is present in my Corsair Void Pro Wireless headset, which was much cheaper and that headset is far more comfortable (again no dual connectivity though). I don’t know why some people obsess over this noise isolation through insane clamping force and leather earcups in headsets. Or why this is considered “premium” but I wish the industry would move away from it. Ultimately I returned this headset after less than a week of use.
I bought this because I was expecting it to be better than my Pulse 3D Headset by Sony for PS5. However, I'll be honest, this headset didn't meet any of my expectations based on it's spec descriptions. The 3D audio on PS5 sounds god-awful with this headset, and the "Superhuman" hearing is a joke. The app constantly crashes and doesn't save your presets. Despite their claims on the website, there IS NOT a way to adjust game chat/party chat volume independently from game volume. The sound quality is just mediocre at best. It's extremely bass heavy with an echo-like effect. Honestly, I get better audio quality from a $10 pair of earbuds. The only positive point I can give this headset is the Glasses Notch that's built into the ear cushions. Every other aspect is ... I'm going to be returning this headset since it doesn't meet my expectations, and has left me feeling very unsatisfied with my purchase. The headset cost me 8.7 work hours to afford, so basically an entire day of pay. This kind of purchase isn't easy to justify when you live paycheck to paycheck.
