My truck had a very large scratch. Using this product took a large unsightly scratch, and made it two small ones. I have a hint about another product by turtle wax that may erase it entirely. I put a quarter size dollop on a folded microfiber towel, applied it with the tips of my fingers, using moderate even pressure. I rubbed back and forth, up and down for 20 seconds, and then finished with circles until the product dried to a haze (30-35 seconds total), and then folded my towel to a clean section to rub it clean. The scratch was a continuous line, and now is two small scratches. I was going to take a before picture, but I got a call which made me forget (oops). It looked much worse, and I’m very happy with the results. I plan to use Turtlewax Color Magic Jet Black, and see if it gets rid of the scratch entirely.

Used this around a month now and seems to do its job. Bare in mind it'll only repair surface scratch ie the outer layer of paint not any deeper. Apply in circular motion then use another cloth to wipe clean. It's a product you want on the side. Only negative is the viscosity is a little on the thin side so when you open the cap it may spill out if stored standing. Would be much better if the bottle could be stored upright with cap facing upwards so 3 out of 5 rating.

Purchased this at a PepBoys after trying other polishes and scratch removers. The type of scratch I had (through the clear coat but not to the metal) is, in theory, a good candidate for this type of product. Part of the problem is the two official videos available for help, one on this website and the other on youtube. They are not detailed enough and both videos I saw (laughably) fail to show the treated area up-close angle after the treatment. The steps outlined in the videos are correct and you must do all of them, however, more detail is needed.Applying the resin to a scratch is not easy. If you use too much, you will have problems wet sanding it flush. If you use too much, you will have problems wet sanding it flush. I recommend applying as lightly as possible (hard to do if working on the side and dealing with gravity) and then wiping off very lightly and gently with a rag so as to remove all but what is in the scratch itself. This technique is used by wood workers to fill and stain scratches on wood. The resin is sticky so you must be careful wiping. Without doing that, I was left with a resin line that looked just like what the videos show however I was unable to wet sand it flush. I even had to use the #1 paper, which the instructions claim is for scratches that involve touch up paint. After a lot of sanding, I got the filled scratch as flush as possible but could not get it perfectly flush. I then polished relentlessly for about 10 minutes to get the haze to (mostly) go away. The area is acceptable but not unnoticeable. My guess is that with practice, one could get the hang of it. But for most people who do not do this every day and will not do it again (hopefully) for a while, it is tricky work.

I'm rarely impressed by Snake Oil car care products that virtually promise to invoke the power of magic to fix things. But this stuff has completely restored the marks left on my falcon the other day. I felt for sure that it would need sanding , filler and paint to get rid of the scratches, they looked quite deep. The bottle says this stuff is equivalent to 1000 Grit sandpaper. It got rid of all the marks save for a tiny bit of bruising where the plastic of the bumper has been minutely compressed near the edge.. But if I didn't know to look for it, I'd never be able to tell. I am very impressed by this product:
On scratches, the paint on the lighter ones was gone; the deeper ones with deeper paint wouldn't come out. On the cloudy headlights, the one less affected, started several years ago, perfect removal and the headlight is like brand new. The other one is umpteen I dont know how long. A significant amount of cloudiness came out; there was a deposit of matter inside, so that wouldn't come out. So the product works very well on shallow scratches and a normal amount of cloudiness.
A family member backed out of the garage and scraped the rear wheel well of a white X3 BMW. I looked at this for months and finally decided to do something about it, not expecting any success. I used a Festool Rotex 90 tool* with a foam pad, and the results were amazing. In five minutes the rash was gone completely! I honestly do not know how this was possible, but it worked like a charm, and I was so impressed I am thinking about opening a scratch removal business ;-). This Turtle Wax Scratch Repair and Renew product restored my faith in automotive products that you see on shelves at the auto parts store and wonder if they are just money sinks. If you have a similar situation with your car, you should give this a try before you take it in for an estimate. So my neighbors dog jumped on my car and this is a big husky. When I got outhi noticed two big scratch marks. I also get hit often with grocery carts because people just seem not to care anymore. Got a few scratches from those too. So when I clean my car I go all out. First prep it with tar and bug remover, let that sit a bit. The powerwash with turtle wax car wash. Then I get out the brush and scrub. This helps see all the scratches, imperfections etc. I went around and used the renew and restore scratch remover and noticed a big difference with almost all of the scratches. I then went and waxed the car with my power waxer. Then I do the wheels and all the turtle wax products make my car look brand new. It's almost ten years old but I love my car and I still get so ... MoreSo my neighbors dog jumped on my car and this is a big husky. When I got outhi noticed two big scratch marks. I genuinely questioned my sanity when this stuff made scratches on my car disappear - did I just imagine they were there xD ?? I really wasn't expecting it to work, and it did! However, for large scratches it kind of starts to close the gap but after many many many applications I had to give up and buy touch up paint instead. But this is great for small thin scratches.
while it is NOT the magic bullet, cure all that ails scratch remover....it is very good. I have an 07 all black vehicle, and there are scratches on the rear deck lid. So I decided to try it. I did however apply it by hand. While it removed a significant amount of the light, very light scratches, it did NOT remove all. It did remove enough that I purchased an orbital sander/polisher, and I will try it again, with the polisher. I don't know if when I do that, if I'll be able to modify this review, but I'll try. Bottom line, especially with black cars, yeah, it is worth it. You'll either use a lot of elbow grease, or hopefully the power polisher will make it easier and better.
