(I once had a dual-layer poly Speedo; after a couple of uses and aging in a drawer, I threw it away. Felt like a diaper.) TYR says spandex is not affected by chlorine, but that is not my experience.

This swim brief is a great option if you prefer something with a little more coverage than some of the Speedo or Arena briefs---but still giving you the freedom of movement a brief offers. Great fit. Fully lined, it should last through many swims.
All can say is--my old Tyr in the same size and same style fits, and the new one is very tight. I can wear it, but I'm disappointed in the way it fits. I didn't return it, because I need a replacement, but sadly, something has gone askew, and it's not my body, it's the new version of the same old suit.
Our normal active 14 yo teen is on swim team. We are a briefs family so he and dad chose the brief. Very nice color, modest and not too loud. It fits so well that he just does not put the shorts back on for regular swim hours at the pool. Countercultural! Fun.
Well made with ample elastic around legs. Compression fit reduces drag. Bought size 36 for comfortable fit despite being 6 ft even with a 34.5 inch waist.
Our 15 yo loves his new brief as it has decent coverage, sporty cut, and different, but not outlandish color that can be worn outside of the swim team environment at the beach or on the paddleboard. Briefs for the tan!
Alternate using my two pair of swimsuits four days a week. Always rinsing thoroughly in fresh water. Thenwringing out in large towel. Hanging towel & suit over bicycle handlebars in garage.My last pair of Tyr swimsuits lasted between 3-4 yrs.following this routine.Thanks !!!
We've had a spate of hurricane waves, so the newly arrived Durafast one splice racer swimsuits have serving as base layer under board shorts for swimming and bodysurfing at the beach. No chafing, and in fact they're scarcely noticeable. Also quick to dry. I admit that tri shorts might be better, but bodysurfing tends to line up culturally with bodyboarding and surfing. The history of Tyr Durafast swim suits at the beach has been that they last.
