I purchased this as a replacement for my first generation Apple AirPort Extreme that had a failing fan. I did not need wireless in a router because my current home setup already has an independent solution. My only concern was speed. I have several test routers and none of them could deliver the maximum bandwidth that my ISP provides. After running the extremely easy setup it was obvious that speed was not an issue with this router. Even with traffic analysis enabled there is no speed, ram, or cpu issues. Best router for the money on the market.

For the price and performance it is a good value. It has hardware based offloading if you don't use certain features like QOS which allows line rate 1Gbps. I am using this with dual ISP connections in a load balanced fashion to allow me to have redundancy when one goes down. So far it has been reliable and performed well. I place this after my ISP modems and before my internal Google Wifi network. I am using basic port forwarding.

Many people with a reasonably small house can get by with the Wi-Fi router provided or recommended by the internet service provider. Larger houses, though, require access points. And, if you are using access points, you need a wired router. This Ubiquiti router meets that need well, for larger homes, home offices, and even small offices. It has an impressive feature set, impressive speed, and impressive reliability. Having said that, these routers are not easy to configure without a whole lot of knowledge of the ins and outs of networking. But once you do, they work great!

Was previously using some Netgear garbage home user Wi-Fi router that couldn't keep up with the demand and was awful to manage. After putting this small router through it paces, I can not say enough good things about it. It has a great price to value rate. The browser user interface is easy to use and easy to set-up. Ubiquiti has also done an excellent design job of making it compatible with many types of hardware and other Ubiquiti hardware as well. I made the choice to buy the router after seeing reviews on Youtube, and after using it for a hardware firewall set-up. I would recommend it for any application that needs a small router for a home, small business, or a router to be matched with a hardware firewall. I will gladly buy another one for future projects. I worked for days trying to set this up in my home so all my streaming devices could be comnected via LAN rather than WiFi. Product support is awful and ended up returning the product. I went through the setup as the very basic instructions prescribed and it would not stay connected to my modem for more than an hour at at time. System reboot would not reinstate the connection. I am very disappointed that it would not work as it should. I am well versed in setup of wired and wireless networking and casual users should not even consider this equipment. It may have its purpose elsewhere but I could not get this piece to perform.
