Have installed 4 of them recently and have paired them with various APs from Unifi. 3 of these are replacing Edgerouter-X (which have worked amazingly well, but are old generation). UCG Ultra is very easy to configure and offers amazing amount of options in configuration etc. The s/w interface is easy to understand and configure (including firewall rules). IDS is amazing if you want to secure your network further. This also offers a very easy VPN option via Teleport and can be used by your laptop or cellphone. The data and configuration is all on the cloud for convenience. For those hesitant about programming etc, there are a few very good videos on the YouTube.

I am pretty impressed with the UCG Ultra to replace my USG Lite. I needed an extra couple of LAN ports beyond the USW-8-POE Lite I had fully loaded and the self hosting for a small home network was inconvenient. At the price it was hard to go past vs buying a gateway key and swapping out the USW for a larger port count. I I think the UCG Ultra with built in controller and 4 LAN ports is a good solution for setups such as mine. Recommended.

Replaced a USG-3P and Cloud Key Gen 1.After set up no issues. On NBN Wireless (75 Mbps down) so, as expected, full speed with full security. I have a Velop mesh system, which has worked great for me. The problem is that the fiber comes into a utility closet in the garage and placing an access point/router (like my Velop) down there causes terrible connections.I got this gateway and hooked it up in the closet then switched my Velops to just bridge the network and moved them to better locations around the house and my internet has never been more stable!I really like the UI dashboard too. I’m definitely wanting to switch to UI access points down the line to complete my system!
Ubiquiti messed me up with their last app upgrade which broken my local Unix Controller. The app could no longer communicate with the controller. This was more a factor of the controller being too old a version. I postponed the upgrade because I need several OS upgrades and Database.The Ultra was an easy choice at that point because it greatly reduced the time that was to be required AND Ubiquiti has been doing upgrades prettg good lately (for my setup).I tried to do a backup and restore following different guides which didn’t succeed. So I just started over because my configuration is simple enough, 2 routers and 2 APs. Now I just have to remember where I hid that WD My Cloud that has appeared on my network.
I've had a USG 3P for years that started dropping connections so I ordered a Cloud Gateway Ultra. The Cloud Gateway Ultra has been great so far. The interface is way more responsive than my old Cloud Key. I have 3 APs and a switch with a few wired devices so I like having the extra wired ports as well. I thought about waiting for the Cloud Gateway Max, but the only real differences were the wired connection speeds and IPS throughput. My devices all top out at 1GBs so it wasn't worth the extra cost (or time) to wait for me. B&H is awesome. I've order several things from B&H over the years. Shipping is quick and their website is very useful.
I had a meth wi-fi router, but it doesn't give a good protection. Cloud Gateway Ultra (CGU) gives me what I was missing in my current set up. I repurposed my meth wi-fi router to AP (access point) device. Setting up CGU was very simple and easy. There were lots of advanced features that I like.1) VPN (Wireguard) right in the router. So that no need to run VPN clients on each device. Only problem was Disney+ but I am sure I can bypass that apps.2) Firewall protection is good. I could see a log that show several attempts were blocked by the firewall such as attempt to explore vulnerability of certain ports that I opened up.3) App based rule. I'm not good at network admin, and getting OPNSense working was a learning experience. But then, when everything seemed to be working right, firewall rules started getting intermittently enforced, and the WAN just stopped dead for 5–30 minutes at a time with no apparent rhyme or reason. Forum fixes went nowhere. TL;DR, with OPNSense, there was probably a way to fix the problems, but nothing I'd tried worked.With the UCG-Ultra, I'm giving up some of the flexibility of OPNSense. But the software makes it so easy to monitor the health of my networks and internet service. I still had some firewall rules to create manually, but that was a piece of cake, because I'd already gotten them just so on my OPNSense router before, and the UIs for both Unifi and OPNSense are pretty straightforward, so re-creating those rules wasn't bad.Having this UCG-Ultra with a Ubiquiti access point already in place is a treat. I can totally understand the temptation to get a fancy Ubiquiti switch so I can have tagged ports for everything.It's great to have a network that works.
I needed a Unifi console that only needs Routing and Gateway capabilities to replace my UDR. My connected devices grew in size and with monitoring enabled the UDR was not able to handle the load. After replacing this while uploading the same config file, everything has been working great. Powered by a small USB-C power brick. The form factor is smaller than a mac mini. Quick to setup.
