To introduce 10G switching within a home, small network this is good value. It can also handle up to 4x 10Gbe SFP+ modules if UTP is required.

All or our traffice will now traverse through this 10GB highway. This is our network migration to a 10GB backbone. Pretty awesome for a Catholic church.

This switch is perfect for mixing your 10G networks. Simple easy to use and you can use transceivers to convert to RG-45 as needed.I have designed a few systems to use these to aggregate the 10G networks for broadcast IP video system. They work great. We have been using them for over a year now with great success.Pros:- fully manage in the Ubiquity system.- simple transceivers allow you to go to RG-45 and work will to connect those devices.- SFP+ fiber work will for connecting and no issues.Cons:- Would be nice to see a 12 port version of this. 8 is tight some times with my needs. Also, if they had like 4 RG-45 on this witch that would make it a very universal 10G Switch aggregation solution.- Perhaps make the 4 RG-45 POE++ enabled. Bought to aggregate between 10G and 1G switches. Used with the correct UniFi modules (DAC and SFP+ modules) the switch just works. I have not had to touch any of the negotiated speeds between 10G and 1G UniFi switches.
The USW-Aggregation does what it says on the box. It adopts quickly and easily and is easy to configure for your network. Easy to setup aggregate connections to your switches and servers too. The only issue anyone will have is the quirky nature of DAC with SFP and SFP+ gear. Out of the box, all the SFP+ ports are configured for Auto-Negotiation, but this will only auto-negotiate a 1G connection for Ethernet or Fibre SFP modules, not DAC cables. If you try to connect an SFP-only device to one of the USW-Aggregation SFP+ ports using a DAC cable, it will not link up until you manually configure that port on the USW-Aggregation to 1G Full-Duplex mode. This means you might not be able to adopt it into your network if you don't have any other SFP+ connections. If you are ... MoreThe USW-Aggregation does what it says on the box. If you are able to get a link from a workstation running an SFP+ card plus DAC, or you can connect with an Ethernet or Fibre module first, you can manually SSH into the unit and configure a port manually to allow your controller to adopt. There are no issues with SFP+ to SFP+ over a DAC cable. It will link up instantly. Beyond that, it works great and is good value without going the whole hog of the Pro unit. Just wish it had a few more ports to really make it shine.
Just plugged it in and UniFi found it, upgraded it, and had it working. It would be nice if it had some 10G BaseT ports, since 10GBaste T SFP+ modules seem to be iffy at best.Unifi really needs to add more available 10G switch types.
1 Star simply because all reviews not for the product. Why are all the reviews for other products? BH can you update the page to reflect the reviews for the product on the page. Also, as a note if you have multiple configurations on a page (not here) that you also filter the reviews by default to the product someone selects. Basically all reveiws here are for some other products and NOT the one on the page.
The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Aggregation was simple to setup & quickly adopted in our UDM Pro Max. We will be soon adding in a NAS on to our Aggregation Switch for Backups. Easy to use & highly recommended if using with multiple 10Gb devices!
Amazing piece of kit. Connects to udm-pro at 10Gbps and then connects out to 3 switches via mixture of fibre and Cat6. Has high switching capability and despite pushing +500Gb of data through it daily, it hardly breaks a sweat.
It works great. Bear in mind that while you can use 10GBASE-T copper adapters, the switch can only handle up to 4 of them due to power and heat. Same with DAC cables. You can mix and match DAC and 10GBASE-T up to 4 total. Ports support 802.3ad/LAG/LACP so you can aggregate uplinks from the older G1 Unifi switches as well. All in all, it does what it says, it's passively cooled and pairs well with a Dream Machine Pro/SE.
