This is my third model from uGears. My learning curve is improving. The model, as completed is beautiful to behold; I am fascinated by the intricacy of the construction and assembly. As has been mentioned in other reviews, extreme care must be taken in removing pieces from the boards; do not rely on simply popping them off, that will not always work, the tiny tabs holding them in place must be cut loose. Also some parts even after careful removal must be handled with great care. The amount of force necessary to attach two pieces together can also be considerable. In my experience the crank shaft (part #78) is very fragile and the two parts (#79 & 80) that snap around it that hold the piston assembly to the crank shaft required an inordinate amount of effort even ... MoreThis is my third model from uGears. I use sand paper, very fine cutting tools, and miniature files to prep surfaces and I still managed to break my crank shaft beyond gluing repair. With all of that said, if you take meticulous care in your assembly you will be rewarded with a very fine model after completion.

I am so impressed by the precision of Ugears kits and the response and support provided UGears. I am even more impressed by this being done in a country having to defend its very existence against a bullying outrageous neighbor without any moral standing or justification.At this time I am waiting for the delivery from Ukraine of a piece for my kit that broke during assembly.

Third model I have assembled. Patience and time are a virtue. No particular complaints like other reviewers have mentioned, but occasionally the sequence of assembly could be improved. Especially when mounting parts to a partially completed sub assembly. When assembling parts, care must be taken to ensure the parts are backed up by a sturdy surface to accept the force to assemble. This only comes with experience. A suggestion: REVIEW THE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS THROUGHOUT THE MANUAL COMPLETELY, AND READ AHEAD AS YOU PROGRESS TO SEE WHAT IS NEXT! You may find a simpler method based on your capabilities. All in all great models which have been engineered superbly.

Love the engineering that went into this model. I would give 5 stars but the toothpicks that came in the package were only 1.5 mm in diameter instead of 2 mm as the instructions say. So now all of the pegs that you insert fall out as soon as you tilt it. Very frustrating until I saw a video of someone putting this together and I can see and hear the pegs squeaking as they are pressed into place. After measuring them with a dial caliper I found the diameter was too small. I got some toothpicks that are 2 mm and it is going together nicely now. You guys need to check your inventory and supply the correct size toothpicks! Nice product otherwise.

This is my first UGEARS model and I really enjoyed building both truck and trailer. Due to my arthritic hands and fingers I had to file every tab a bit smallerto fit them into there respective slots. Also, every toothpick had to be sanded to reduce the diameter. This extended the build time considerably. Over allI put approximately 60 hours into the build. Even with that, it was the challenge that I needed to keep my mind and hands busy at age 80. Looking forwardto more.

Heavy Box Truck VM3 and Trailer

This was a great build. The trailer was an easy build and I liked the way it opens up. The truck itself has a lot of great features such as the step, sleeper, the hood that opens to display the engine.

Still working on it

So far I broke the crankshaft twice.... My fault.. glued it up then I broke the piece that holds the body and engine compartment my fault again. I do a lot of cussing at myself and yelling at myself. But I really enjoy putting this truck together. Has many moving parts and I want to do it right. I cannot even imagine how and the world this is engineered. Can't wait till I get another one to build.

Truck is a very detailed model

I loved building this truck. The problems I had were with the different size rubber bands required. This model would would be far easier to build if the right size rubber bands were included. After completion I was not able to get the truck to move. I followed all the instructions, but maybe I did not get all of the rubber bands the right size.

UGears Heavy Boy Truck

If the instructions were a bit more clear, I would probably have this kit finished and able to write a more detailed review. Ive spent more time so far watching a Utube video of the assembly than I have building the kit. To top it all part 16 has snapped despite me being very careful as warned in the video. Now I have to find how to obtain a replacement part. Other than that all is fine.
