Normally I build Lego kits but I wanted to try something different and a little more of a challenge! This was definitely it! This was my second wood model kit I’ve done and took me about 10 hours. Gears got a little stuck before putting in the rubber bands but after working the gears a little bit everything works perfectly! Sanded some of the parts down a little more to make sure they would fit in the holes, especially on the delicate wing parts.

Got this kit last Friday(Dec 10th) and built it over course of two days(took breaks). Its a fun, challenging kit. The gear mechanism worked up to the mid point of the build, just at the end of the whole gear parts were finished. Wax did not help it at all. Also I'm not sure I trust it not to break down the road with the tension of the rubber bands on the one part as its only held by a wood clip. I got it for being a dragon, as I collect dragons and like to build things, so this worked for my in that regard. I just won't be using the flapping much if at all.

Parts of this model can be a challenge for a beginner. I loved it. A lot of fun, even the annoying parts. (I hate rubber bands and string!) I did this in about 7 hours non-stop. Works perfectly. Wax is very important. I used it on a lot of the connectors and it really helps for the tight fits. I had to use a few drops of white wood glue because two pieces were a loose fit and would fall out.

Quick Shipment. Just started this model, but recognize several improvements in general design to aid in easier removal of parts from the boards, including fewer connection points to the board and new tools! Very nice improvements! I have worked with some previous models with my 90 year old father, and he has struggled with this aspect of the kits, and these improvements would be great for him!

Got it for my brother-in-law. I can't wait for him to open it!

Several months ago, I saw that ugears was going to release a dragon model! Of course, life got in the way of me being able to pre order it right away, but things improved on my end and I was finally able to order it ! This thing was so much fun to put together, and it looks great on my dresser. There is one pitfall, however: this thing is huge! It won’t fit in a normal cubby sized space ( the wings and tail need a lot of clearance), but I was happy to make space for this amazing model!

I purchased for my husband who likes woodworking and puzzles. He built it according to the directions, waxed the cam - rebuilt it twice - be we could not get it to work. He's a toolmaker so he knows how to build things. Very disappointed this didn't work. I'm giving it 4 stars because it is pretty cool as a conversation piece and he enjoyed building it.
