I replaced my old Ultimate Ears speaker of a few years with this new model. The good is the sound and battery life are great. It charges fast.What is not so great are the following:Super annoying and loud sound when it is being powered on or off. My old model had a slight sound which was fine. This one is terrible.The old model had a way to check what percent battery level you had left. This one does not. Only a small red light when it is low.No input jack available for an external source.Why they decided on these changes is a bummer, and I might go with the JBL flip next time.Hope this helps with your decision......the sound is very good tho’ and that is most important!

Sound quality and volume are both superb, and the battery life is more than long enough for my use. However, I've been having problems with connection. The speaker has an elaborate 'dual' connection system that I've not seen before. In effect, it allows you to connect two devices simultaneously, i.e. laptop and computer, and supposedly to transition between them. Nobody asked for this feature, and for it to work, the transition needs to be seamless. It isn't. The moment you start playing on the second device, the first one cuts out and to play music from it you need to undergo the connection process again. It only takes about 20 seconds or so, but I was disappointed and it was a blemish on an otherwise immaculate product, hence the three stars.

The sound quality is tremendous, the bass is deep and the treble is sweet. The noise seems to fill a room even when the volume is not pushed high. I don't consider myself inexperienced in tech. However, when you charge up a speaker for the requisite time and still the on button refuses to work despite repeated attempts, you give up. I thought the first speaker was just bad luck but when it happened with the replacement after returning the first I started to wonder. Tried everything from the website. Followed all the instructions to no avail. Tried contacting the support. However, when I achieved that it was almost impossible to have any dialogue as the sound connection was so bad. Didn't even get to first bass, sorry, base. On the face of it a great product that should be a doddle to set up but which in my case was anything but. Instructions that were simple - almost too simple - but that left out useful information. So I've reluctantly returned back to JL for the second time and will try another brand. I note all the glowing reviews and nobody seems to have experienced my problem. So have I been unlucky with two faulty speakers? Or is it just me?

It has amazing power and clarity for it's size and a boost for outside. It has really gives a sound much greater than you might expect from a small speaker. It's incredibly sturdy build means it really doesn't have that slightly cheap sound quality from flimsier low cost speakers. It has a good bass.I'm a immature boomer and will listen to a huge variety; happy to blast Led Zeppelin at full volume or listen to mellow jazz, rap, classical or the Andrews sisters taking in folk along the way. so fairly broad. Good Points: Great sound.Good battery life.Small enough to be portable easily.Looks good.Improvement Points: Carrying loop too small,m could look dirty quickly.The plus and minus symbols for volume make it look like a Christian worship item, could be more discreet.

Incredible room filling multi-directional sound. Best placed on the floor by a wall. Even better in pairs. I recommend using the "SOUND Beautifier - Equalizer & Volume Booster" app by "Swiss Selection" on Play Store. A little tweaking of the unusual settings in this app ('Brightness', 'Clarity', 'Definition' & 'Bass') will transform UE Wonderboom 2 to a higher level of sound quality.
